I prefer the first half of LFL over the second half.

There was clearly an effort put into her outward appearance and aesthetic (both "physically" and as far as visuals go) and it's pretty obvious these days that Lana doesn't care about that anymore. I'm not saying that I miss her long nails and big hair and her always looking like she's straight outta some 50s/60s movie or pin-up-y.
 
I understand her not necessarily wanting to have a high maintenance look on a daily basis, but like from 2011 to 2016 there was at least a minimal effort put into her look and visuals and since Lust for Life Lana has been looking, for a lack of a better word, very pedestrian and basic (except on certain occasions like the 2018 Grammys and Met Gala, or very few stage looks) but for the most part the visual aspect of her appeal is just kinda lost these days.

I don't like the Freak demo at all, let alone the bridge Omg... So glad we got the forward-thinking version officially released.
 
As for the Lust for Life demo, I appreciate it a lot... I actually fell asleep to it last night and it was gorgeous. But the released version remains unbothered in my ears.

It's official. Lana has slipped off my list of favourite artists.
This is pretty much the first time an artist has been involuntary 'removed' from my favourites list, because she didn't do anything I hate (besides support homophobic churches) and I didn't mean for it to happen, it just sorta did since NFR was released.
And I did try to stop it, but it feels like there is actually no reason to be a stan anymore, let alone just a fan.

Idk if this is even an unpopular opinion or not cause i rarely see anyone talk about this song but Is This Happiness is one of the best Ultraviolence songs, one of her most underrated songs imo.

I really really miss Lana's glamorous side. It's what drew me to her. I'm not saying she isn't beautiful now, but I do think she's become kinda lazy with her appearance. Like I get sometimes celebrities can't be bothered to dress up because they're tired from touring and whatnot, but I just miss the way she used to look. It's not just about looks either, it was her whole persona of Lana Del Rey.
I know she's still herself and she's grown up a lot, but being glamorous doesn't show immaturity either. I really feel like Lana has tried to play it safe not just with her lyrics, but with her appearance too lately.
And with Lana becoming more of a feminist, maybe she feels like she needs to 'toughen up' her appearance in order for people to take her more seriously these days. Goodbye fake nails, goodbye long flowing curls and high heels.
 
I know overall people like to change themselves, and that's good and it's healthy and I'm not bashing Lana for it either. Maybe it's just nostalgia that's making me write all of this out, idk.
