It's sad that others loving her songs does not really touch her, she just does it for the satisfaction of the creative process.

Hope makes so much sense now. It's not my favorite Lana song by any means, but I appreciate it after listening to the entire album.

Don't forget that these are the same publications who publicly crucified her at the start of her career. She was so discouraged after Paradise that she vowed to never make music again.
The acclaim is well deserved and long overdue.

Longest minute ever.

i think she's hit her radio friendly stride and this is why this record will be her most successful. it's very accessible and listenable, i think ignoring some of the melancholy lyrics is quite easy, similarly to what she said you can just kinda play it as you have dinner. i can also imagine every track being played in a film/tv series so in that respect she hasn't strayed too far from the cinematic aspect. so far i do like it for what it is, i'm enjoying it. lyrically it does represent so much of why i became a fan. what i miss is something a bit more dynamic and powerful in terms of sound

Honestly if lana wanted to make an album for the fans she would make more songs like California and even cruel world, the fans really eat up her moody atmospheric open ended ballads. Including me...

Bartender has grown on me a lot. Even one of the weakest songs of the album to me is immaculate. Lana sis, what kind of masterpiece of an album have you created?
