I could totally see Melanie making a song called 666 with the real meaning: "Together, the number 666 indicates a need for balance between the home and the rest of your life. There is an indication that something in your life is out of balance, and your angels are warning you to discover what that something is, and set it right again." But yeah... that necklace price...

This is the first time I've listened to the MM3 session songs. I'm really liking the sound and it's certainly more in a direction that I like than K-12. It's funny how it's more matured, yet it's something I would have liked more as a child because I was obsessed with fairy tales and otherworldly themes. I'm not sure if any of these have been confirmed as being on the tracklist or not on the tracklist, but i really like most of them. Compared to these, K-12 sounded so forced. It's like she's built on the sound of After School and K-12 and filled it in with something actually interesting.
  3. I'm guessing the maker of that tik tok first got onto tumblr in 2014. They were probably too young before that. They keep using 2014 because I think that was when hipster tumblr finally moved on to the grunge tumblr for good and they need Sky to fit in with their whole "aesthetic history". But she basically MADE 2014 tumblr with her looks from 2011-2013.

This thread pops up and I'm like that sounds familiar! So I search on YouTube and it's this song! Sorry to the real fans cause this is probably that annoying song that got so popular, but I loved this when I was like 9 or 10. I remember thinking the black girl was the prettiest person I'd ever seen. Still think so damn I love this song. How can they be singing so sweet but its so dirty

It's a shame I haven't liked the faster-paced songs on this record. So far I'm only really getting into Deadend, Burn and I Still Love You.

    A tiktok hit for sure
  7. I was told (by someone here?) that the synth was added/fanmade and not supposed to be there. But I agree, it made the song sound distorted in a mind-bending way. The covers quality is definitely listenable. Honestly I don't have a problem with it at all.
  8. This is literally what I thought the post was about for a whole day until I came here and saw everyone talking about a single I thought sky was saying "don't forget I still have an album coming" and it wasn't a song title at all
  9. I know, same, but sadly I think Lana is only going to give such good vocals again when it's a collab or cover of some sort where she's influenced/pushed by something/someone else
  10. I did the same with the FJM version because I had in my head that it was only a feature. FJMs voice is so nice, I'm always happy to listen to him, but Lana's one really blew me away. I really need to hear them sing together more.
  11. Imagine if the album had had something as dark and spooky as Cult Leader. The opening of the song would have hit the nail on the head here.
  12. Cool thanks! I was looking for the "songs we don't have thread" which had this info but couldn't find it again. Honestly I never have luck with the search function... It seemed to me like High By The Beach was one of the later additions. Someone here shared on soundcloud Rick (?) talking about how he produced HBTB. He went into amazing detail and there was no mention of a demo that I remember. So if we are not sure about Art Deco, Religion, 24 or Swan Song, some of these are probably the "newer" songs, but likely not all. I would lean towards Swan Song being a later addition, at least.
  13. So where do the demos that we currently have (Freak, TBD, GKIT) fit into this timeline? I played him [Mark Ronson] ten songs that I have composed for this next album. Not so much that he added his usual signature, soul and funk. But rather it explores a sound close to the golden age of jazz". The ten songs would obviously have excluded Burnt Norton, DLMBM, but also several other songs, because Yes To Heaven was originally for Honeymoon again, but that's all we are certain of in terms of scrapped tracks (?). I'm wondering which were the songs added after the original 10 songs Lana had in mind. I know there are some confirmed Honeymoon demos that we don't have, so those are probably included in the ten tracks.
  14. The opening of this song is the inspiration for Honeymoon, I know it
  15. Isn't life crazy, I said, now that I'm singin with Sean
  16. Thats true. The guitar is the same - i saw rick nowels talk about it in a YouTube comment. They belong together
  17. I've never noticed any particular vintage effect in the Freak vocals. Maybe it's there but it fits with the song better? totally agree with the LFL songs tho. The vintage effect could have worked amazing if she went for that dark witchy sound.
  18. Unfortunately I think it came at the wrong time for me. If it was on LFL it would have been my favourite song on the album bc that would have been perfect timing
  19. Oops just posted this in the Cult Leader thread... This is not entirely a misconception, but the detail does change how you see what happened. And again, maybe most of us here know. When lana cried on-stage during this video games performance, it seems many people thought she was having a moment of either crying because she still misses the person she's singing about or crying because she was so emotional about this song getting her so far. She actually explained in an interview that she got emotional because she realised her fans cared so much about her, while she didn't care much for herself. She was experiencing an unexplained illness at the time which is really what pushed her to see this. https://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/a575904/lana-del-rey-on-mystery-illness-its-a-big-part-of-my-life/#:~:text=The singer explained that her, doctors couldn't figure out.
  20. Does the misconception about her kissing Jennifer Lawrence in that photo count? Most of us here, at least, know it was Chuck, but the majority of people who have come across that photo probably don't.
  21. Babes this is just the Unpopular Lana Opinions thread apparently. Not that I don't agree with many of the things commented here, but I came here for the real common misconceptions
  22. And I learned this as I was reading this comment it is actually blowing my mind. I have always heard that version with the intro, also because of downloading it from youtube, and even when i think of the song Flipside i HEAR THAT PART in my head. I never thought it was not supposed to be part of the song before.
  23. I've never seen the back cover before, I'm shook! Whenever I see the back cover of an album for the first time I get so obsessed bc it changes my whole view.
  24. Hopefully all the other artists that commented under her post help promote the shit out of it when something is released.
  25. So in The Blackest Day, which is obviously about Barrie, which song do we think was the one referenced in "holding your hand, listen to our song"? Riverside? If You Lie Down Next to Me? They're the ones I could see as the reference, since they seem so personal to the two of them. And no, I will not accept discussion of the wrong lyric "listen to a song".
