We're the same age! Listening to CB at 18 and 19 felt therapeutic in a way. Despite the childish themes, the darkness is not suitable for literal children so I think 15-19 was the best age for CB listeners. The themes felt more personal too. Kinda like what you were saying before, K-12 dropped many of the dark uncomfortable references and swapped it for F bombs . The whole album felt more "fuck the system" , whereas CB was more "fuck what you did to me personally". I think i could have ADORED k-12 if i had been 13-16, while still in the schooling system. Sometimes I wish I could go back to enjoy it but that's not how life works. We move on

I always wonder if it is how long we wait between releases that played a part in our expectations for something a bit more evolved. But even tho Afterschool WAS more evolved and released not too long after K-12, I still wasnt obsessed with it like I should have been. I think ive also moved on from her as an artist. Im pretty much waiting for her next release to prove that to me. I think she's dropping a good amount of the baby/child aesthetic now and moving into more of a pastel vintage ethereal look which I like, yet I'm still not really here for it either.

The weird lyricism literally did age badly though. I'm not saying I'd want to cancel her but I'm sure others would if songs like tag you're it were released today. Tolerance is really low these days for everything. Just because you wouldn't say it aged badly, it doesn't mean I'm wrong for thinking it did

Aged badly = if it was released today, most of the lyrics would not stand well Outgrown = regardless, I'm too old for such music now anyway It's not that deep babe. Thats just my interpretation so you can take a breath.
  5. I am so shook, i cannot believe its literally 10 years of Electra Heart. Only 9 for me but that's still so hard to comprehend. Lies was that song I first got addicted to. It was so powerful discovering that album.
  6. That one, knife prty and digital bath are
  7. Thank you! Oo I forgot I knew Hurt as well- sorta forgot it was them. Why did I think it was deftones
  8. Like you're being reminded of something you forgot from a past life.
  9. Always loved their vibe. They are one of those bands that I'll think '"they have taste" is someone listens to them, yet I don't really listen to them myself. What are their best songs in your opinion? I'm only familiar with Closer, and their new collab with HEALTH.

Ngl.... I completely forgot Wheels on the Bus existed. Here i was pretending Recess was the only downer. last week i remembered Nurses Office existed too, and that it's a shame one of the good songs on k-12 was also the most unlistenable with the sound effects. This is probably years late but I've recently realised I've completely outgrown Crybaby too. Not the instrumentals, most of them are still flawless, but it's finally safe for me to say that the album has aged badly. I'm still glad I was into it during its peak I'm 2015/2016 tho. It's really going to suck if her next release feels like it hasn't moved on.
  11. I definitely could have gotten away with just flattening/bulldozing my island rather than restarting, but the resident services location was something I needed to change. Didn't you bulldoze your island once before? Did you do the whole thing?
  12. Yeah at the kiosk its just the designs you can download, and then customise it over what you already have. It's so useful for things like paths, and the dividing wall panels, cause you can make anything! People also make Lana's album covers so you can display them on your walls
  13. Aww yes I loved that feeling of restarting and having everything look natural for a while! I always keep a little section of my island like that. Happy Home Paradise is a downloadable part of the game (you have to pay for it again), but it's soo worth it. You go to "work" on another island and design houses for essentially all of the villagers possible. The best part is you get more items for your own island that way and can eventually design the rooms of the villagers on your own island. My island style is very Zen/imperial themed, so the side closest to the airport is all residential, shops and market area, then over the river I have gardens, a bath house and a shrine 😄 The custom design downloads kiosk comes along when you get the Able Sisters clothing shop! So that should be in the first couple of weeks I think? I'm not sure if it's there as soon as the shop opens or if you unlock it later.
  14. Oh cool, so the other features must not come along for a little while! Do you have Happy Home Paradise? I wonder when you can start doing that. Omg I miss my villagers on my first island too! None of them were my "dreamies" but I liked them all a lot. But yeah starting again was much better for me deciding which items I wanted to keep and decorate with and which were actually useless
  15. It's definitely Badlands that's the fan favourite. But her newest is even more of a masterpiece, coming from someone who thought nothing topped badlands until it arrived. All of her albums are good but personally I think HFK stands noticeably lower as it seemed to be the only one that didn't achieve what she was going for.
  16. * to announce that the release date of the first single will be July
  17. I did that at the beginning of 2021 and it was a good decision, though I moved my resident services to be as close to the airport as possible guess that works for me. My first island was so chaotic, im glad i started again. Whats it like starting again with the 2.0 update?
  18. Brown hair under blonde, Queen! I've got the reverse.
  19. Ultraviolence Living Legend Terrence Loves You Religion Angels Forever, Forever Angels Venice Bitch Is This Happiness Old Money Lucky Ones E (Elvis and Every man gets his wish are really the only options here huh) The Blackest Day
  20. I watched the Making Of part 1 and 2. Part 2 is the best one. I can't believe Halsey really did this, and the support she needed because of being pregnant! She's really amazing. I'm so glad she got through it and the movie came out so beautiful. Also, I just found about about the demo of Nightmare where she sings All The Things She Said!
  21. I had a huge moment with that song upon release too. It was my "see Lana IS woke and she's a hippie at heart jUsT LikE mE" moment The song would have stayed genius if she kept it a short, think-piece track like the original video she posted.
  22. Me too. I remember discovering the demos too and I was like Sometimes i can't choose my favourite. I'm so glad all of the versions exist.
  23. I think it's really the instrumental with the vocals that are out of place. Because I love the instrumental too, but this fanmade mashup actually sounds amazing and made me realise there is nothing wrong with the vocals either. It just needed the right vibe.
