  1. Season of the Witch! I heard the original by Donovan when I was watching Dark Shadows recently, and started listening to that one again. But I realised Lana's version is so much easier to sing. She has a way of refreshing songs and making them smoother in all of her covers.
  2. It's cool that you say that cause to me it also sounds very pure! Like dark but soft, just like the supposed/alt title Black Leather Moonlight
  3. So the alt cover became the regular album cover? I think it's better anyway <3 I love the album! Take Me Nowhere and Girl Next Door are probably my favs, even more than the singles. I must say her songs are already sounding kinda samey/blending into the melodies of the others, but I'm not quite bored yet. I get it- how an EP can sound very very similar to the next album. I can't decide whether I like her classic punk pop tracks more or the ones that blend electronic and metal. Her lyric videos are pretty cool too. I love how it's like catching glimpses of her life realistically- just on her phone all the time
  4. I never would have thought of this but yes omg. Incidentally, I always listen to this in the Southern hemisphere autumn (March- May). Also, Honey Gentry recently released a beautiful cover of Playground Love.

Oh wow that's 3 years just like that! The main things that remain in my head are the Detention dance, her cute outfit from Highschool Sweethearts, and the Strawberry Shortcake instrumental.

Switch and Stagger are cool! Summer Breeze has a nice vibe. Just can't really stand the lyrics rn for personal reasons
  7. Nothing is ever real to me until the album art is revealed. Not even a lead single. I think sky ferreira has traumatised me, and also the 1 yr wait between MAC/VB and NFR. I'm also realising that all of Lana's album covers since Ultraviolence have confused the fuck out of me, besides Blue Bannisters (and also Violet is kinda cute). Honeymoon grew on me, but the other 3 didn't. It honestly takes me a few days to get my head around her album covers, whether I like them or not, so it's going to be an interesting time when this one is released.
  8. Listen, be sad. But you can be both sad and also not try to silence the important information that people are talking about
  9. Waiting for Lana to top the "I always loved the way they [two cousins] loved" statement
  10. My comfort movies are Ginger Snaps (2000) and The Love Witch (2016) My comfort show used to be Skins (UK) but since I outgrew that a few years ago I haven't got a new comfort show! It would be Orphan Black but I don't have whatever streaming service it's on. Edit: this stupid bitch forgot Futurama!
  11. Don't sleep on this interview! Her energy is so inspiring here
  12. I genuinely have zero problems with her outfit dunno what y'all are mad about
  13. These do go together incredibly well! I think the Dreamworld shoot really fits the Ultraviolence demos a lot too
  14. We need more lana in plaited pigtails Except for the fact that this one probably inspired 13 beaches...
  15. I wonder what the back cover of the album with the tracklist would have looked like if the first image Chuck shot for Ultraviolence remained as the album cover.
  16. I actually make summer playlists with the intention for them to force me to appreciate the heat because I hate it so much. They always include Summertime Sadness Summertime (Lana's Gershwin version) Venice Bitch songs from Lorde - Solar Power God Knows I tried (the crickets noises makes me think of really hot summer nights), followed by HBTB COTCC I think is great for trying to stay blissful in weird times Grimes - Life in the vivid dream
  17. I was watching Ginger Snaps again today (my all time favourite movie) and I appreciate this masterpiece more with every watch, even though it was already true love when I first saw it at 14. The soundtrack is essentially all late 90s industrial and metal with cool electronic in there too. I would definitely suggest anyone in this thread to watch it if you haven't already, and if you appreciate good movie soundtracks. I really can't believe they did a werewolf horror from a teen girl perspective with a metal soundtrack. It was so ahead of its time! I always knew it.
  18. Yes! My dad who is German introduced them to me and my sister. We love them! I also love their piano rendition album as study music.
  19. Wait was it @Rorman Nockwellwho describes is as tin can production?
  20. Happy 10th birthday lanaboards! That means it's also been nearly a decade (I think next month is) of being a Lana stan! I joined here at the end of 2016, but I wish I had discovered this site back in 2012- no joke it probably would have gotten me through a lot of bad times easier! This is always an interesting place to come to for anything <3
  21. She's so gorgeous. I was not prepared!
