Can we all agree that Heroin, Change and Get Free SHOULD belong at the end of the record?

I see some people saying that Heroin should be in the first half of the album, and I personally think the tracklist works really well, sonically and thematically.

We have Love, LFL, and 13 Beaches at the start, which are quite different but wouldn't really belong anywhere else.
Then we have the "fiery bops" which start with Cherry and end at IMF. Sonically, they're very contemporary and fun, upbeat songs.
Coachella is the bridge from bops to political songs, while having boppy production and somewhat political related lyrics.
Then we have political songs from GBA - BPBP
TNC is another fun love song, but sonically, it wouldn't work before Coachella, nor would it fit anywhere within Cherry - IMF, so it's placement is perfect, esp after BPBP with Stevie.

Then the last 3 tracks document Lana's growth and journey as a human being, so those are perfect.

Heroin is Lana hoping to change and describing what went wrong with her life.
Change is Lana anticipating this change.
Get Free is Lana manifesting her hopeful words into an actual change.

I personally think that the songs on HM weren't meant for UV, but she probably started writing a lot of them while she was mixing UV with Dan.
Maybe she intended to use the songs for that re-release for UV, and she even mentioned MWTBT as a potential album title, but thematically, a lot of the songs on HM (other than the title track and The Blackest Day maybe) don't sound like something that would go on UV, or even a re-release.

    That's just my opinion, though

Does anyone else wish she'd explore the sound from Wait for Life more? That tropical sound would be a nice concept for an album (think Sleepwalk by Santos and Johnny as an interlude or something). Plus, it would be a great way for her to come full circle with the past since WFL is essentially a matured BTD with the echoes and all.

No way. Maybe in aesthetic but when it comes to music and atmosphere the Honeymoon era gets the spot and becomes the best thing that Lana has written during all her music career a.k.a. her MAGNUS OPUS.

Brooklyn Bible deserves to be up there. The lyrics (specially the second verse), the drums and the soft-happy guitar make it one of the best songs she has ever included on a record. Also the damn bridge. Now some of you may see some lines as "cringey" but they're very Lana, very representative of what she does.

Black Beauty is another masterpiece But dragging Heroin is unnecessary especially when it's better than Black Beauty Also I think the demo is better

magnum opus' discussion: i think her best songs don't fully line up with my favorites, i love TNC but it's really far from her best- however the potential for a more acoustic southwesterny retro sound is t h e r e. here's my opinion on her BEST OF THE BEST aka some of her most iconic and beloved songs, with great writing, emotion, vocals, melodies, and acclaim from fans n critics alike. Like i said my personal opinions compared to the songs listed are very different, but i recognize a good song when i see one, i see taste and i hear it- and i hope you all can too.

Love - 10/10 - In my opinion, this is the perfect way to start the record, and I love the message and global feeling it has.

Lust for Life (feat. The Weeknd) - 8/10 - the sentiment is very cute, and I like how Shangri-La's inspired it is. It sounds a lot like young, starry love, which I think is a reflection of the themes discussed in the track before it.

13 Beaches - 9/10 - This song has so much imagery within it, as well as cool satellite effects and an overall pensive/classic Lana vibe. Reminds me of TLY with more drums.

Cherry - 10/10 - This song is classic Lana - it's a bop and sonically, the chaotic atmosphere of it conveys the lyrics.

White Mustang - 7/10 - I like this song, it's very short however, but still ultimately sweet, despite it's repetitiveness.

Summer Bummer (feat. A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti) - 8/10 - I like this song.

Groupie Love - 10/10 - This track feels so right, it's so hazy and dreamy, and Lana's vocals sound absolutely pristine on it.

In My Feelings - 8/10 - Very "current" and "trendy" in sound, but still feels like Lana.

Coachella - Woodstock in My Mind - 9/10 - A very important song within the record, in my opinion. It bridges the gap between classic Lana bops and the new, socially aware, politically charged, self-aware, pensive Lana tracks that sound folky and smoky. I love the lyrics and the sentiment, and the bridge is amazing.

God Bless America - And All the Beautiful Women in It - 7/10 - I like the song, especially the bridge and pre-choruses.

When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing - 8/10 -a masterpiece. I think the song could sound a lot more moving without the use of trap beats but I like the cool effect they give. Lyrically, it's very reminiscent of WWII, and I like how the main message is centred around how hope is not all lost.

Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (feat. Stevie Nicks) - 9/10 - Great track, love the vibe and the reference to blue-collared workers. It's a more subtly political track, but Lana + Stevie = bliss.

Tomorrow Never Came (feat. Sean Ono Lennon) - 10/10 - I love how folky it is, I think that's one of the genres Lana knows how to do best. The lyrics represent a cute love story, and the Beatles vibe is done quite well, while retaining Lana's aesthetic.

Heroin - 10/10 - My favourite song on the whole record. No words can be said to describe how much this song really resonates with a listener, it's definitely one of Lana's most personal/introspective songs.

Change - 10/10 - Another song that has a similar role within the album and impact as Heroin. It's very chilling and barebones, and it's both somewhere Lana has gone before, and something new.

Get Free - 10/10-  One of the most important songs on the record - it's basically a summary of what Lust for Life as an album symbolizes for Lana, and ties the whole record together.

    Album average score: 89.375/100
