I can't read page n4 so sorry if i'm repeating something

when i heard about weinstein this week my first thoughts were "thank god lana isn't in the film industry" because this man clearly didn't stop and went even for the biggest stars in hollywood, since he's that much privileged and above the law. Then with this topic i thought too at first the lyrics were "ah he was in the sky" but that's not convincing. Maybe the lyrics are about a harvey, boh. I'm probably wrong and you can @me for not minding my business but for the sake of (saving and) still enjoying Cola I'm going to pretend Harvey tried to hit on lana and she brushed him off and wrote this song in a tongue in cheek manner about what could have happened to her character. Because now I feel so tainted by what I'm reading about him, I can't imagine him not trying to pick her up (lana is so beautiful and talented) and I'm going to tell myself lana wasn't interested or that nothing bad personally happened to her

Anyway someone tried to sabotage lana's Y&B, and if she were a Harvey's pupil/protegé I don't think that would have happened to her but I'm probably overestimating him

I feel very weird about this because Lana of course can do whatever she wants in her life and I don't want to preach @@her, especially since it's just now that i've heard about weinstein's doings but i know she has a knack for getting herself into dangerous situations, especially with men. So imagining her and harvey makes my blood freeze, even tho it shouldn't be my business.

He was clearly a huge admirer of her in 2012, I can only hope he kept his lecherousness for himself. At least we know she went off making an album with a much different sound (so we know she wasn't trying to surf on the craze around btd/pe/ss remix vibes) and didn't consider going for a career in acting or movies. So maybe that suggests she took some distance from all that?

I don't want this to have happened, who knows....

I really love the cover of her album, i actually adore all of them, i think it's genuinely iconic and lush with the pretty white knit dress and blue truck. All of her covers manage to be evocative for her songs and it's not always the case with artists to really associate the song with a picture. (haem this is weird, except for summer bummer and imf: I think those songs should have a different picture when I play them on my phone, if you understand what i mean). I still don't get why people give Chuck's photos a bad rep.

This era might become a lot better once the tour starts! She might have some tricks planned, this is her first big tour in a long time so we might get some awesome performances and outfits. It's not done yet. I agree that it hasn't been my favorite but don't lose hope yet!

Being her fan since 2014 only into the LFL era have I just accepted the fact that she will always be unpredictable, messy and lazy.
Even though I'm not fan of Beyonce, I sometimes wonder, what if Lana had that kind of work ethic like Beyonce, prepared, calculated and meticulous. Being that way as an extremely talented, magnetic person, she will be perfect, but she's not. Sometimes I just think her shortcomings kind of add to her charm.
It's frustrating to be her stan because you will always get your hopes up and wish she would've done things differently like the way you imagined it. I'm still coming to terms with that but I'm slowly accepting it. Peace of mind comes with taking people as they are and emphasizing the positive lol

absolutely all of this, she's been releasing so much music in short periods of time I admire her so much for that, and frankly the music is what i mostly care about

also except for tv appearances she hasn't done a concert in italy since 2013 when she was still promoting BTD apparently, so she probably prioritized countries where she has a significant fanbase and were also long overdue. she probably designed the world tour based on her abilities and capabilities atm, we don't know what her plans are

i guess i just have accepted that she functions and works differently than most artists, while i would like for her to take something of their books (while i'm not into beyoncé i admire her commitment to working hard and showing it to her fans & stuff like that) i'm content. I'd rather not have Lana release an album every three years with impeccable promo/tv every night/world tour (but i'd take a movie/docu though if it was on the table) like many big pop artists out there. the only complaint i'd have is her inconsistency with visuals, which are not as important as the music in itself, but are a huge addition to it. HBTB was a nice mv as LFL but both were too simple to be lead and title track of their respective eras. I don't mind the simplicity but I see lead/track titles as a "main course" and maybe that's what gives the feeling of underwhelm?  I guess she doesn't have the "bitch, i'm back" attitude like some artists (madonna, britney) but again she's not gone long enough thus she probably doesn't realise that some of the more casual listeners expect something more impactful that would make sense for them.

also yes, being on lanaboards and even waiting for merch/tour dates becomes excruciating while  months ago i wouldn't have cared about that at all but i'm not used to be involved at this level

I'm not surprised Lana hasn't said anything about this lmao. I doubt she'd defend him but I also don't think she'd want to involve herself in this drama.
However, with a song like Cola it makes her look a bit...messy. I mean based off live performances it's obviously harvey, but if she tweeted something out like she changed the lyrics based on what's happened recently and offer the victims her compassion, I think it'd make her look much better than her being silent.

for the topic starter (a poster I never heard of, perhaps someone with different name?) and for everyone-

    - it appears Harv's method was brand new young starlets looking for stardom, no big credits yet.
so if someone like Paltrow made an accusation, that was at the start of their career, when they were no one at the time. So they could not speak up
then as no one would believe them and with his "family" (who is more ruthless, him or his brother?)
But it doesn't appear he hit on older established artists, so how would they have known.
BTW- this is not just Hollywood, this sort of thing happens in 100% of every industry or business in the world.
Men (not all) are scumbags aren't they.
Rape on college campus, abuse, harassment etc.

How many different people on Fox News (Rupert Murdoch's US stations) have been fired because of sexual abuse, Roger Ailes (so similar looking to Harvey)
it took decades for the truth to come out about him. (He has since died, the details never really been revealed, just a "fall").

Look at the Catholic Church and what the church has done for decades and decades and decades to little kids (both boys and girls).
And it's denied until proven, yet the kids won't even tell their parents, who won't believe them anyhow.
(See the movie- "Spotlight" which was about it, which itself was based on investigative reporting by a Boston paper)

and it is only getting worse, because of Donald Trump who has had so many incidents there is one of the largest stubs on Wikipedia about it
(and Donald Trump makes every single person he is in contact with sign confidentiality contracts, so they cannot talk even if they want to.)

Wouldn't it be great if 100% of abuse against women was stopped, same as 100% of abuse by cops to minorities (hence the protest group #Blacklivesmatter)
(If cops weren't killing blacks shoot first ask questions later, there would be no need for #blacklivesmatter.

But I bet if one looks into any business, there is abuse against women.

Perhaps in all industry, the answer is, women CEOs of every company. It's time for a change.

btw @@latothemoon- the article that started it was in the NY Times, followed almost immediately by the Newyorker magazine expose by Ronan Farrow (the child of Mia Farrow, and some people say Frank Sinatra whom he looks exactly like and Mia at one point said that), Ronan has spent the last number of years writing about the Animal House Frat society on college campus and the Campus Rapes and sexual assault and abuse.

Even if this wasn't the best era I feel that it's way better than her going on a long hiatus and not putting out music period. As fans I think sometimes we demand and critique the artist too much when we're just on the outside looking in. We don't know how Lana feels on the inside or what she has to go through behind the scenes to make things possible. We just see the end result, and sometimes it's not just all about us and what we want, she's making music for herself and how she feels at the time as well. I see people complain all the time about performances but who knows if she had a fucked up day before having to entertain thousands of people or currently dealing with personal problems but has to put aside all that just to satisfy other people.

I understand that not every project is going to meet the standard of every single fan but at least she's still willing to give us something and put in any kind of effort at all. Touring, shows & consistently entertaining fans are not an easy thing. Recording an album, and trying to making sure it's perfect to meet both her and the standards of others in hopes that it'll be successful is not an easy thing. Promotion and other moves made behind the scene are not easy.

I mean we live in the same time period as her and aren't just reading about / listening to somebody before our time that we can't personally experience. We're lucky and should appreciate that. We've gotta be crazy to think she doesn't look back at her older work and what she did in the past, I'm pretty sure she does all the time but she has to do what she feels is best for her today and as fans we should respect that. We should allow an artist to experiment and enjoy the process of making music instead of making them dread/second guess it. Don't get me wrong, it's fine if you happen to not like a project but we shouldn't be so hard on demands from the artist, because we're not in their shoes.
