Honeymoon came out sooner than it should have, I think this is partly the reason why it wasn't that well received by fans, it just wasn't the right time. Not only that but Lana herself could've used more time to work on the songs themselves (it must be noted that for the short time it was made in, it's an incredibly comprehensive record).
It was also very tame, a regression from the dark and brooding nature of Ultraviolence, and Lana's first time departing from an image based era, all of this made it seem boring but none of the songs are _bad_ persè. In retrospect, I really do appreciate Honeymoon more than I did when it was released. The album is far more genuine and TRULY Lana Del Rey than LFL.

In Short, LFL is like that party bitch we all know. On the surface she's great but over time you realize there's very little substance to her(Heroin is exempt from this analogy!), whereas Honeymoon is that bookish, quiet little girl you always see but never notice, yet when you actually spend time with her you see you underestimated her greatly.

Yall better stream Born To Die, her best album. Lust For Life can flop, it's okay.

in terms of eras i suppose honeymoon was pretty underwhelming with minimalistic promo, recycled footage used for freak and also mtwbt, not giving the title track a proper mv, and perhaps the addition of the backup dancers for concerts but sonically it's amazing, i always listen to all of lana's music anyway

the only low point of hm is perhaps the nina simone cover and the vinyl discontinuity between freak/art deco. i'd hate to pick a favorite but i find honeymoon to be the blueprint of what i like in an album. to me - it's almost perfect

i love every single song, and the admirable thing is that the album is very cohesive but also lana revisits (or at least acknowledges) different  styles of music from classic lounge, gospel, trap and jazz

also something that is very specific to honeymoon is that every track is in the right place: she achieved to find the perfect opener/closer combo (i ignore nina - whom i love dearly- and pretend it ends with swan song even tho the cover is ok, and also appropriate, so no hard feelings on my part). the album starts with the perfect incipit that almost breaks the 4th  wall and nudges about lana's popularity and every other track in the middle is in its right place. And love that she has an interlude

i also love how chill the album is, i like that lana has something like that in her repertoire. anyway this is all my opinion, i admit i have a negative bias against deluxe versions of albums and while UV sonically and lyrically might be more interesting there are like 4 different versions of the album (standard, deluxe, deluxe with an itunes song exclusive and a japanese deluxe version - i could be wrong) so it's kinda jarring. at least LFL has the perfect closer with GF.

i'm also partial to the surreal themes of the songs and to the hermetic approach of her lyrics, which also brings some variety to her songwriting because that's a different style from BTD/UV where she seems like she's narrating a story, while in HM she seems addressing herself or the audience about her thoughts and feelings in a dialogue. I feel that we are more included in the narrative and lana's persona with this album.

it might seem like lana hasn't taken any risks but compared to what the music industry is, the project was very risky. the tempo is too slow and not very youtube attractive. I could see the songs being played by a radio tbh but not becoming viral and eliciting lots of clicks which is something everyone attempts to do with drums, fast hooks and lush music videos (altho lana could use a better marketing strategy ...)

i'll stop before writing an essay, honeymoon is bomb.

I often see people discrediting Honeymoon on this community and elsewhere and calling it Lana Del Rey's worst album. But I have never understood that almost the whole fan base hate Honeymoon. Honeymoon has the highest metascore on metacritic with Lust for Life. Honeymoon, Music To Watch Boys To, Terrence Loves You, God Knows I Tried, High By The Beach, Art Deco, Religion, Salvatore, The Blackest Day, 24 and Swan Song are beautiful songs. The album photoshoot is so beautiful as well and far better than Lust for Life. So, why do people treat Honeymoon so poorly? I understand that some people dislike the Freak music video, though. High By The Beach and Music To Watch Boys to have great music videos and the music video for Honeymoon as well. Sometimes I wonder if people actually listened the album before judging it by the singles.

I try to tune these events out of my consciousness every time they happen because it's just so fuckin sad, but this is so beyond tragic it makes me angry.

Last night before going to bed the news was talking about a shooting, way smaller and less fatal, that happened at a nightclub in my city, and today I wake up to this (makes the shooting here seem like nothing). I feel so unsafe, and just despondent for this world in general. I'm so glad I live in a country with serious gun control.
I don't believe in removing guns all together but let's not act like stricter legislations, or a full out removal of guns wouldn't deter someone from being able to do this, or at the least ensure less people die.

Putting Roses Bloom For You and Yosemite on a vinyl, or just releasing them as b-sides on iTunes is totally doable and would be a wonderful sales boost. It's a shame she and her team aren't creative like that

I hate how glib she is on Instagram, running around like a stepford wife on livestreams. It's too bad she's on there so much now. She looks paralyzed in the face in all of her pictures as well.

Stan arrivals 2013 and onwards, sorry you missed out on our girl's alluring nature and natural beauty while she still had it.

Can interscope please shelve her next album for like 2 years and cut her budget so she suffers for the bs she's delivering for years now.
Her fire/spark/magic is gone it's not like something good is gonna come out of this uninspired half-assed out of focus situation she's in anyway.
I wrote 4 paragraphs about this but the effort isn't even worth it tbh.

With Sean's whiney ass voice and that Yoko reference? This is objectively wrong, sis! Even if it weren't a collab it still wouldn't be top 10.
An album standout. It's unfortunate the rest of the album isn't in the same vein, but I guess it'd be a UV 2.0 if it were.

You're clearly not secure with how you look considering you confessed that you would get plastic surgery. The entire reason behind plastic surgery is to try and rectify certain insecurities.

You got all pissy because I said half a dozen pages of "DIS GUY UGLY!!! BAHHH!" is boring, like it's some kind of revelation that Lana has unconventional looking guys in her videos. I'm sorry Lana isn't giving you guys some new ejac material, but that's just how it is. I never said you weren't allowed to say it, but don't expect others to sit back and nod along like a pigeon.
