I remember I was browsing tumblr casually then Dark Paradise popped up.. Took a listen... Bursted into tears. (I was just a causal listener back then) just imagine... Not a Stan crying to someone's music.. *the impact*
I rushed to atrl and the album leaked. I cried so hard listening to the album for the first time I just couldn't believe such beautiful music existed. One song is better than the next. The songs just keep getting better after one end.
It tuned me to an instant Stan.. Overnight... The magic of born to die.
In fact, it tuned a lot of people into Stans. Every one on atrl at that time were shocked at how amazing the album is. I remember people (including me) couldn't eat or sleep because the insomnia caused by compulsively repeating the album for DAYS.
And then came the reviews, everyone and their grandmother defended the album. We arranged a rating and group reviews to boost the user score on metacritic lol.
Then came the charts (JUSTICE) BTD became the fastest selling album of 2012 at that point.

I think Gods and Monsters is one of her saddest songs. I mean it sounds like if that's true all those lyrics that she went through a lot of shit.
In the land of gods and monsters I was an angel living in the garden of evil. Screwed up scared doing anything that I needed shining like a firey beacon.
You're got the medicine I need. Fame, liquor, love give it to me slowly.
Well obviously she was out there basically doing anyting she could to become a star I think in LA right? And the song just gets darker from there. It's like she's battling to hold onto herself to hold onto who she is in the crazy situation she gives into the addictions and the favors but, she refuses to let herself slip completely into it. I'm glad that it at least seems like she's living a normal life now and I hope she is.
If you didn't realize this before this song is a seriously dark and almost wrong song that it's so dark. I love it though. It's like she's sharing a piece of her soul with everyone it's really personally and I hope more like it are on Ultraviolence (Well there's Ultraviolence itself but, more as well).

Fortunetaly, she has a strong family behind her back which will rebuild her whenever she feels down. Additionally, she has US!

it's definitely a bit of the body electric effect in which i prefer the live to the studio. studio seems a bit muffled but again that could definitely be vevo. ready for 320 version tbh.

Most of her fans have depression issues and see themselves in the lyrics. Music gets you through deep shit...

These are the most poetic and heartbreaking lyrics Lana has ever written. I can feel the pain she went through, poor baby.

Dan is an okay producer, but I personally like Emile more. I like anything Lana pretty much puts out, (the producer barely even matters) but I liked the hip-hop-ish feel it had during the BTD era. It had more beat, more bounce. This album will be more sway; spiritual feeling.(slowish.) Personally I'm saying that BTD beats were better. But I'm not here for that, I'm here for Lana's singing!
Also, what's with everyone being so critical. We all have different tastes, not everyone is going to like the same song. Some songs will be a hit, some will be a miss. I'm just ready for the melody(of her singing) and the lyrics.

It’s so beautiful. The bridge literally made me cry. I love the spoken part. It’s like she was talking down the phone she was so quiet it was like she didn’t want to wake anyone. Oh and the strings and guitar work is beyond magical.Lana has really outdone herself this time. The album is going to slay commercially critically and most importantly me...
