I agree she didn’t change her entire career course due to a feud with Lorde, Gordon’s comments and the backlash after she made the “feminism just isn’t an interesting concept “ comments. I think it was a lot of things coming one after another, including, yes, the fact that the maintenance and effort to remain slim, youthful, stylish and photogenic had to be very exhausting, especially as her fame grew and paparazzi started chasing her on two continents at all hours. While ‘Hope’ has already given us a clear statement on the subject, we’ll know which direction she’s heading once we see the final NFR cover and sleeve art.
 
For me, the “crack another beer” lyric from HTD doesn’t suggest the sophisticated LDR of Paradise, but a much more earthy, unadorned persona, one comfortable singing from a working class POV and about ‘blue collar’ concerns, a la Springsteen and Billy Joel. The plain photo of her sitting on the side of the highway supports that too.

I loved her style/look before now, because it fit to the Music so uniquely/diffrent from any girl in music... and I do miss it; it was DIFFERENT yet NOSTALGIC
many artists are following her style (cat eye, long nails, big hair - Lykke Li, Kasey Muscgrave, )
 
I believe she is trying to rebirth herself now, in some sense, and I don't care for her "jumped out of bed" look; it just seems like what Kim and Kanye are trying to press onto the Culture...
but also if that is what she wants, then that is fine.... she is still stunningly beautiful;
 
it is just not as mystical/unique, with her distinct nails and lips and eye makeup and hair... she is changing her style, i find it less intriguing at the moment ... also who isn't to say she could bring it back... I remember she said it was all her own making/desire to Put her hair up and nails on... maybe she just got sick of it, costly.

Okay, I find your post confusing. On one hand, you're saying you don't like her more recent casual, natural looks, that you find it lazy, and that you want the older, glamourous style back.
 
And then you say women should be able to dress how they want, but it's as if you think she wants to be glamourous but feels she can't be.
 
What if she doesn't want to be glamourous? That should be okay, too.
 
I'm likely in the minority, but I quite like her casual, natural look of late. The pressure to always look glamourous when seen in public for 8 + years must've been draining af. I think it's good for her to take that pressure off herself. She doesn't look bad by any means.

This album still holds up perfectly! ESPECIALLY MUSIC TO WATCH BOYS TO (which would have been an epic album title although I realize HM is the perfect title in that its a concept album and it fits the theme 100%

I see what you mean. Especially with the part you say she tried to be a sex symbol or something. There's obviously a reason why she got a nose job and her lips injected.
 
However she's definitely not 'average looking' She's someone I'd definitely admire physically if I saw her on the streets.

Yesterday, Lana was spotted out shopping in West Hollywood. It appears she stopped by L'AGENCE, a higher end women's boutique on Melrose Place. After being asked by a paparazzo, it appears that Lana may be attending Coachella weekend 2.

Norman Rockwell's paintings were supposed to emphasize the simplicity of American living, and I think that that's what she was trying to accomplish with MAC/Venice. She's also trying to make them look cohesive.
However, in relation to the Venice and MAC video, they're pretty lazy; not only because of the old car driving for ~4 minutes, but because she used another music video in it. It's like she didn't wanna try.
  If she doesn't clarify what she's doing/why, people are going to stop paying attention. We aren't gonna care anymore

I really think Lana wanted to buy more personal time before having to start the album cycle over again for real, so she manufactured this poetry book as a vanity project and an easy excuse to get out of releasing the album when it was done, hence why we get no real answers from her or anyone on her management team

yall lets have optimism. "you will hear it soon" sounds almost legit. instead of saying "its coming", she is saying that WE WILL HEAR IT SOON (if that makes sense lol i get a different vibe from her saying it like that)! i really dont see why that would be in the summer. i see the album and poetry released together within the next 2 months. call me delusion but i stand by it. 

We love optimism! Put this energy into the world instead of y’all saying September!!!

I’m indifferent at this point. Before today I was legit worried she scrapped it so at least I have a shred of hope. We can only pray the book comes out with the album so we don’t have to wait longer.

If her response to “when is your music coming out?” happens to be “you’ll hear it soon and you’ll read my poetry too”, it seems as if the poetry theory might be true. Maybe a side by side release. We won’t see or hear the record until the book is ready to go and they can’t announce the release date of the album because they don’t know when the book will be ready.
