Just listened to the sample on iTunes and you can definitely understand her more, but I think that West Coast was doing exceptional despite the fact that people thought she was mumbling. I really wish they didn't edit her voice because I thought the first version was amazing and really captured her hauntingly beautfiful voice.

Looks like the fenced area to the right of the venue is still there.. According to google earth anyway. Still debating what time I should get there though.

If Lana did ever become "mainstream" and start doing big interviews, a lot of radio play, etc she would generate a lot of shallow fans (who only listen to the singles and MAYBE buy the album), but not the die-hard Lana fans like the people on this website. With the remix of SS being really popular, its just something I noticed.

I think it's high time we make a stickied post in the Shows section regarding tips for attending Lana shows (i.e. how early to get there, what side is better to stand on, waiting in line and doing a number system, pros and cons of general standing admission vs seats, bringing items for autographs, etc).

It's because you're expecting her to do what Lady Gaga and Katy Perry does in terms of level of promo and touring. Her venue sizes are perfect for her, there's no way she can sell out arenas and big venues don't have that 'intimacy' Lana wants for her shows, and we know she wants to keep things intimate (pretty sure I read this somewhere). They're international pop superstars, while Lana is no where near as big as those two yet. I think she's just not doing any of those things because she just doesn't want to. I'm sure there's going to be an interview here and there but I doubt any live televised performances or anything like that. And we're getting the West Coast video this week apparently.
 
She did a lot of Born To Die to get her name out there and to build a fan base, and she didn't do as much with Paradise either.
 
Just don't expect Lana to do what other popstars do because we all know she doesn't really like to do those things. There's vague Ultraviolence here and there and even though everything is sort of blurry we know we're getting an album and with the release of West Coast, the public knows that too. I think Lana likes to keep it that way and not overhype anything.
 
 
 
Not so choppy lead single "Cruel World" is actually the final version of an early demo of Cola which was accidentally put on Paradise, and we'll be getting Tropico 2.0 with Cola played straight for 25 minutes.

Dont know why ya'll want to turn her into Rihanna or something with promo. I'm glad she does nothing, radio play, Ellen???? Save that for shit like Taylor Swift and TV actress of the year type people. I'm not to see her talking to the masses on some promo tour that caters to mainstream fan bases and families at home watching tv.

this guy obvs doesn't like her, but I guess it's interesting to see an outside perspective. maybe Lana doesn't put on a show but I don't think that's what she's about. Anyway, personally the only thing I dislike about her shows is how dreadful the crowd is.

They just played West Coast on the radio here in Austria! Ok, it was part of the "Online Charts" (#27) but still. I don't know why but I was literally shaking. Btw it wasn't the Dan Auerbach mix but maybe this version hasn't been sent to the radio stations yet, idk.

I'm going on a roadtrip, and would really appreciate any of your thoughts on music (doesn't have to be only Lana, but mostly Lana. Ha.) & I obviously trust your guys's music taste. Keep in mind I'm going with a boy. We're just friends but we've dated before so.. Who knows.
 
And I'm trying to divide it into like Afternoon, Evening, Night music for the mixtape cd's I'm going to be making. I already have the obvious ones like On Our Way and Yayo.

Absolutely packed.  The sound was not good.  Lana frequently asked for levels to be raised on her and parts of the band throughout the night.  There was a lot of mic feedback particularly in the beginning.  The auditorium made it hard to hear songs cohesively.  The songs were loud but at some areas of the GA floor, it sounded too reverby and it wasn't very good.  However, other areas sounded fine, crisp, and pretty hard sonically.  Lots of people singing along, the first 4-5 songs had nearly constant screaming and yelling from the crowd.  Hard to hear Lana sometimes.  Lots of weed smoke (welcome to SF), I saw about a year old baby there with gun headphones on, and a giant brawl broke out on the right side of the audience during nearly the entirety of Young & Beautiful.  Multiple people were escorted out.  I was in the middle of it; it was because a lot of girls were on top of boys' shoulders and people behind couldn't see.  A relatively small girl and really tall girl (who couldn't see over) got into it verbally then the hair grabbing and punches followed.  Then about 50 people joined in.  Crazy to witness and a bit weird with Lana's singing Y&B to it.
 
Finally, I thought I heard a new Lana song played before she came on.  There were no openers, so it was just Lana's warmup music.  Lots of typical Lana style songs but well recognized, except for one.  It was slow but not really balladly.  Seemed to base itself around piano and an organy-synth (Hammond organ?) and it really sounded to me like Lana's vocals and style.  It wasn't very rockish either.  I'm unsure but it definitely struck me as odd when I heard it.
 
Highlights were Gods & Monsters, West Coast, and Body Electric came more alive for me live (I'm not a big fan of it on the record).
