I need a sad seaside/beach bitch album with sultry ballads like Salvatore and Cinnamon, bops like Serial Killer and a little bit of psychedelic guitars before next summer. Like the lovechild of NFR, HM and AKA.

That review is another generic "All of Lana's music sounds the same, no matter how different it sounds" review. She gets one or two every album she releases, still plagued by this idea that creating a world and inhabiting a character is reductive rather than expansive... To me it screams a lack of critical thinking and understanding... And a total disregard for the way the culture has changed in the last 7-8 years and how that has impacted her lyrics, singing, aesthetics, etc... Even listening to the music alone, the production, melodies, lyrics, and themes have marked departures from older "Lanaisms" if he stopped to actually listen/think about things... The "lead" single, MAC is literally her reclaiming this narrative that she's perpetually depressed, tortured femme fatale... Hope is her clarifying her journey in a way that she's never done before...

I just want to say before the flood of positive acclaim for this album comes out...
 
Don't forget that these are the same publications who publicly crucified her at the start of her career. She was so discouraged after Paradise that she vowed to never make music again.
The acclaim is well deserved and long overdue. 

Also, AllMusic used to have UV highlighted blue as the “choice” album with the highest rating of 4/5, but the blue has been removed. I think/hope that means NFR will be made the “choice” with a 4 or 4.5 score.

As long as they aren't ripping off her official merch or anyone else's artwork or trying to promote it as official merch it's nbd. If you buy it you're supporting an independent artist who needs the business more than a millionaire.

I'm guessing WHF is gonna drop in early/mid 2021, she rarely writes while on tour and now that she's adding the 3rd leg, it's gonna take a while. 

I love the new sound and album but with the exception of Venice Masterpiece, I don't hear anything that another producer couldn't do

The way Lana walks in the latest video. Tall, shoulders and arms back. Almost athletic like she is from the same island as Wonder Woman. Fantastic.

btw Lana called Born to Die her first album in one of the interviews and NFR keeps being oficially referred to as her 6th album so it’s confirmed that BTD is LDR1 and Paradise is in fact LDR2 and not just part of Born to Die. There might be a Paradise edition of Born to Die but Paradise is a 9 track body of work with its own entire era so it’s LDR2 in my eyes, and that’s that on that! AKA’s lovely and all that but I don’t consider it a “Lana Del Rey album”. Born to Die was like a fresh start.

honestly i feel this SO hard, like after this i have the lana concert to look forward to in 3 weeks, but after that, like i really don't know what im gonna do

been listening to california now for over an hour and i know to some of you this is super old news but i think this is her peak in terms of aching sentiment, nostalgia, power and apologeticness. credit where it's due i think this is probably the truest love song she's ever written and i adore that it's so bittersweet. it's like an ode to every relationship that's ever been lost, changed or gone wrong and it could apply to absolutely anybody you've loved

seeing these "departure" posts from this thread make me feel... sad in a way. i only joined this past january after lurking this thread a few days before. i don't actually remember if i knew lanaboards existed or what it was until i saw an instagram post about it in the beginning of the year (which is why i mainly joined). i'm so glad i found this community and i wish i would've known about it years before. even though some of the opinions on here lack taste and flavor, i wouldn't want to be a little family w anyone else. so thank you! i love this website so much. and it's insane to look back and remember how psychotic we were in this thread only some months ago.
