Backfire liked a post in a topic by fessle in Beverly Hills Hotel Cabana Cafe
I met Lana randomly, at the Beverly Hills Hotel Cabana Cafe on Thursday May 12.
I was in LA for a few concerts for my favorite singer, Lights, and it turned into a vacation. On that Thursday, May 12th, my friends and I had breakfast at the Beverly Hills Hotel Fountain Coffee Room. It was reaalll nice. Then I asked the front desk if someone could give us a tour of the hotel, so we could take pictures by the most scenic spots. Since I'm an architecture student, I just mention that and they happily show us the architectural highlights.
We saw the Frank Sinatra suite, which is about $15,000 a night and I saw a bag of weed on the table inside...it was beautiful. I said out loud, I bet Lana would love this room.
We went down by the poolside and I took some polaroids and photos and we hung out for a minute just to enjoy.
&
Lana Del Rey walks past us and I immediately recognize her and say "Lana!" and my legs were just shaking. My friend Rachel did not even notice until a few seconds later (and she didn't hear me say Lana, so either Lana ignored me or she didn't hear me) and I was just SHOOK. I could not believe that this is where I would meet Lana. Our tour guide told us he was responsible for us so that it would be inappropriate for me to go talk to her under his supervision, but he left us a couple minutes later and told us we could do whatever...haha.
We sat at a table 20 feet from LDR, drinking lemonade and eating chips and salsa. I didn't take any creeper photos because I thought that would be weird and she was just having lunch with her friend. On the polaroid I took of the pool and cabanas, I wrote "swimming pool glimmering darling... We'd love to take a polaroid with you" and asked the waitress to pass it off to which she said no, they can't do that. So we waited for Lana to finish her lunch, and then she took a picture with her friend.
When Lana got up, so did we, and as she walked towards us, I gave her the polaroid and said it had been a dream to always meet her. She looked so beautiful and so sweet. The manager (restaurant manager) then came and interrupted and said he was responsible for her and that he needed to protect her and she kept brushing him off. The first thing she said to us was "I'm not really taking pictures today." That was kind of weird because she had just taken one with her friend. This other girl and her mom tried to take a picture of her and the manager got in front of the camera, and Lana said no pictures again. She asked me if I wanted her to keep the polaroid still and I said um yeah it's for you lol. She hugged me and my two friends, as well as this other girl and asked us where we were from, where we had seen her... So she showed some sort of interest but she didn't really engage in any conversation, at all. Like "Where are you from?" "Chicago" "Oh cool" Since we couldn't take any pictures with her, I showed her a portrait I had drawn of her way back, and her friend said I was very talented and I don't know if Lana really said anything besides that it looked good. We hugged her again and then she asked us "Are you leaving?" when we were already on the stairs and on our way out.. haha
A few minutes later she passed us in the hotel hallway and said "How are you?" and kept walking without stopping.
Overall it was kinda bizarre and I have no pictures to show for this encounter, but hey, I met Lana Del Rey in LA. This experience was so authentic and strange I loved it tbh. I am glad I got to meet her, and hug her twice, it was surreal. She looked beautiful, with her chipped tooth and she smelled so sweet.

I think it was a paparazzi I don't think she would have done that to a fan

Backfire liked a post in a topic by kristinaj in Lana Touring This Summer
US fans got their tour already last year so there's really no reason for complaining that she's mainly doing Europe this summer. She'll probably do some shows in the US later this year or next year anyway

This is going to look so good next to my record player, typewriter, ukulele, and Crosley vintage wall phone.

I don't think we will get an EP for Honeymoon, to me it seems like she's just chilling with Francesco or her family. It we get something on December it maybe the announcement of Tour dates, wich would a little random but yet so possible.

And I now present the sister case to @@PinUpCartoonBaby's:
I only need to make the actual CD and have the booklet stapled (which is why there are no close ups of it).
I'm not going to lie - it is absolutely beautiful printed out.
Now assuming I don't get snowed in tomorrow/this week I will hopefully have a full-blown digipak and the CD made soon.

Thank you all so much! I can't even express how happy I am because of your comments.
Well, I think it's time to give you all the possibility to get your own copy if you like to. Because we agreed on not shipping the copies earlier in this topic, you'll have to print yours yourselves. And as I'm such a nice person I'm sharing the files with you. BUT I really don't know if they are alright for a copyshop to work with them because I printed mine myself and I have absolutely no clue what a copyshop requests in order to print something. So if you need the files in another format or sth please tell me.
For now all the files are PDFs. The booklet files + the back cover/insert have two pages each (front and back) so that you can print it double-sided if your printer has this function. I included cutting marks on all files (except the CD) so that you know where to cut as I made the files with a 3 millimeter bleed area to avoid white space at the edges if you don't cut 100% perfectly.
If you have any more questions just ask. I'm not a pro when it comes to printing etc but I'll try to help you when needed.

Another thing: I'm also not sure about anything concerning copyright in this case. I mean I used pictures and logos which I obviously do not possess and made the whole thing look like it's an official release...so I really, really hope this doesn't get me into any kind of trouble. So I kindly request you not to sell these files or any copies, publish them elsewhere or claim them as your own work. Thankies.
So yeah...I hope you have lots of fun with your A.K.A. booklet.

I have a very clear idea in mind, a running theme of hotel rooms and views from the windows like vegas, atlantic city etc. I had an idea to make a back cover like a marquee or whatever but I think it may be too ambitious

@@Anthem if you go to advanced editing in the OP there should be a sidebar that allows you to add a poll with multiple questions. Before you do that I think you should set a deadline for idea submissions so we don't have an influx of additional options, and then whoever still wants to buy one can just settle on the design we choose in these stages. Also the talented people of LanaBoards coughtrashmagiccough need to be doing this booklet before we end up with something less cute

Awesome @@ilovetati! I am going to edit the OP with your new picture links ASAP, but right now I really need to work on school stuff because I've been editing the OP and looking stuff up for this for the past hour
Pricing Update:
I called around and looked online and I have some numbers up to give a very rough estimate of how much these will cost, so those of you who were concerned about that can see and start to get an idea of how much it might be. I even estimated on the higher side so its likely to come down. Shipping costs are very very rough as I didn't look into them much at all, but I'm friends with a girl at UPS so I might see if she can do anything for me. I'm still working on the digipak cost and front cover for the jewel cases (I have decided I am going to do both and you guys are welcome to get one of each). Hoping to have the rest of the costs up soon!

I noticed some of you guys don't like "Big Eyes" because it's long as hell, it has a weird intro and a boring chorus. Well, I made a "radio edit" of the song and I really liked it. Enjoy!

My suggested booklet photos to accompany the lyrics (keep in mind that bigger versions need to be found). I tried to make them feel cohesive as a whole, embody the meaning behind the individual songs, and visually represent that story from beginning to end

Gramma (Blue Ribbon Sparkler Trailer Heaven):

I don't get why everyone wants the digipack... personally I'd like a jewel case to fit with all her other albums just like @@Anthem said.

Big EYES is incredible...Honestly, i love it so much. it's not flat at all.
I felt like that yesterday but listening to it multiple times now only confirm how amazing it is.
I love how it builds up towards the end. Definitely her best soundtrack song to date.

Backfire liked a post in a topic by StealingTheMoonlight in Tour VIP Packages?
Would the gold or silver be better for getting a chance to take a picture with her? Gold seems like it has more stuff, but it's behind GA and that's how you get close to Lana. Do you think she'd *pop in* to the pre-show Gold package thing? I don't want to talk about life with her, but a picture would be so great.

Waiting to get my tickets is making me too anxious and excited.
I don't see the point of the VIP packages at all besides the merch. Not into paying more for non GA.
