Blue Banisters - Pre-Release Thread: OUT October 22nd, 2021
West Coast replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
I cannot wait to hear 'Black Bathing Suit'. The song I'm most excited to hear, seemingly one of the few that's not out already too. -
What a supportive Queen.

Pitchfork Reviews Rescored (including Born To Die)
West Coast replied to longtimeman's topic in Latest News
I like the gesture, because back then the discussion wasn't about the music it was about her so called persona and her authenticy, or alleged lack thereof—there was actually very little substance surrounding the music in these reviews (and even reading that re-review it's like "hEr AlTeR eGO!!!1!"). But idc about this, it's disingenuous as fuck.- 30 replies

I was literally going to write these exact two songs.

Rick has been posting a lot about his work with Lana in the past while. It's so cute and wholesome.

I remember people saying that around the 10th anniversary of 'Born To Die', publications like Pitchfork would rescore the album to a much higher grade. -
Do you think Lana could happen if she debut with BTD now?
West Coast replied to palemoonbaby's topic in Lana Thoughts
Had it not been for Lana, the so called 'sad girl' thing a lot of artists have been pushing post-2012 wouldn't have been a thing methinks. -

'Born To Die' came to be when it needed to I think. It was a one of a kind pop record back then and still is imho. -
In no particular order: Let Me Love You Like A Woman, Lolita, Coachella, Groupie Love, Summer Bummer, How to disappear, TNBAR.
-
All this speculation for Lana to submit 'Let Me Love You Like A Woman' because that's apparently the only song she cares about on that album.

For some reason I find that associating yourself with Lena Dunham is way worse. -

I feel like this is really an unpopular opinion, given that the cover is heavily edited (and perhaps criticized for that). But I do think that 'Paradise' is her best cover. It's giving exotic, warm, late summer afternoon vibes and she looks bomb.
-
Yup. I was literally able to buy the alternative cover with what I saved from shipping (which was free btw). It's so weird because on my credit card statement they're both the same company/store. It's a mystery.
-
Well, thank God for the Universal Music Canada online store. There was no way I was going to let Lana's Canadian store rip me off with that ridiculous shipping. The way I was able to get the clear white vinyl AND the alternative CD cover for literally the same price.
