    Because they're hinting at the songs not being IT but they can't say it because the 2012-13 stans have regained hegemony in the discourse like a month ago for whatever reasons

    The production near the end of Wildflower Wildfire is borderline unlistenable. I love it as a piano track, though. Maybe they'll polish it up before the album's out because it's ..... not done. 
     
    Blue Banisters, though... That's my baby.

    We dragged jack through the mud but he could've easily produced some piano ballads with synths? they would've been better too.. he's a perfectionist and wouldn't have let the horrendous mixing go through like say whatever you want but at least his vocal mixing was almost always good ( except on dark but just a game ) and the music sounded profesional and finished. Also maybe he would have told her #that lyric is terrible ugh she's really ruining the whole vibe with the covers and questionable production choices because the songs are actually really nicely written and i love the melodies but

    I don't think Lana's wrong for including it, and I understand why she did it, so I'm not throwing shade, but the BLM line in Text Book makes me cringe because it feels so awkwardly shoehorned in. It's a shame because I really like the song otherwise. Drag me etc, but I'm just being honest.

    The single covers are just objectively funny. I can't stop laughing. I can't even be mad about them. It's all just so hilarious, I love her.

    Why do these songs feel like unreleased songs? Like I feel like I'm listening to an unreleased batch made circa like 2013-2014? (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing!) It's somewhere between UV and HM (which both had incredible production). I'm not too sure how I feel about these songs. I can't listen to Text Book, which had so much potential, because of that Black Lives Matter line. It's so awkward.

    The title track is the one for me. That one sounds like an expansion on, or a further development from Chemtrails. The other two tracks are very personal in that it seems Text Book is about her dad and WW is about her mom, but they feel less essential *as songs* to me.

    I honestly want to take a moment and appreciate hiadt because I think without it, we wouldn't really have songs like White Dress, Blue Banisters, and maybe even Textbook. I know people like to joke about Jack's 'piano flops' but it really, really woke up the melancholic singer/songwriter in Lana imo. it's still one of the most depressive songs I know

    Conceptually it's everything I've ever wanted from her and I never thought she'd go so free flowing in her lycism and just mixture of sounds genres etc etc.
     
    Execution-wise I'm not that certain the results are up to par with what I was hoping but anyways

    Blue Banisters is the only song I want making the album as of right now.   Maybe the rest will grow. Idk. I genuinely feel bad having this reaction.
