She should have never fucked with her face. She looked very pretty before all the procedures, but her best look was during the 2010-2012 BTD era. She wanted to fix her nose. That's fine. She wanted some filler on her small thin lips. That's fine. But somewhere in 2015 and present time she started over doing it with the cheek fillers and between her eyebrows and she doesn't even look like the same woman from the BTD era. So sad and unnecessary.

Because they want to keep making money off of her.

I think she’s maybe dressed as Sandy after her makeover, from Grease.

    Home With You

    Sad Day

    Thousand Eyes

    Holy Terrain

    Overall album rating - 9/10

I would've rated it a 10/10, with this record proving to us that twigs has no intention of remaining in a box. Always evolving and constantly conveying her art in innovative and captivating ways. The gut-wrenching highs of this album mixed with the tear-jerking lows, operatic choruses, and semi sci-fi baroque production really add to the homely feeling of it. Twigs is the voice leading us through the flood like moses. While I don't agree with the track order, and the inclusion of Holy Puke-aine, I have to accept this project for what it is. A timeless representation of a woman's struggle with acceptance and compliance. Bravo twigs, only standing ovations from this side! I will always eat up anything this bitch brings to the table

UV?? Flaws??? hunnnyyyyyy.... we must be listening to the same record.
ultraviolence, the 2014 criminally overrated, unlistenable, garbage album by ms Lana Del Rey?
there is not a single track, or even a single moment on that album that is good. plenty of production flaws. literally ... worst album ever !

but for real, ultraviolence is a very flawed record. not only its shitty production, but also songs which are entirely cringy lyrics wise (fmuttt and mpg) and overall unlistenable garbage tracks (pwyc and guns n roses).

I can't believe I took time to read your entire post missing my whole point...
The reason why I'm talking about UV is because people who criticise NFR because of the flaws also praise UV even though it technically has many flaws too. And yeah Dan isn't going to produce her next album but he still produced UV and the album has flaws, so why doesn't that bother people? Why are the flaws in UV acceptable but not in NFR? That was my point.

Omg babe. I forgot you couldn't like stuff without acknowledging flaws. Please! Speak your sage words at my funeral. I wouldn't want to leave this world without your insight x

I have a simple question; why are imperfections a problem in NFR but not in UV? Because this album also has imperfections/flaws too (intentional or not, it doesn't matter, since even intentional flaws are a problem for you guys, so let's go that way), and it doesn't seem to bother anybody, whereas with NFR, imperfections are dramatic for y'all and that makes Jack a bad producer.
In West Coast, we can hear her say "mic check one two" between the verses.
Pretty When You Cry has a constant white noise.
Old Money has white noise too.
And mouth sounds are there too if you pay attention, for example around 0:24 in Black Beauty.
So why isn't that a problem? Why should it be a problem with NFR? I'm sure that if we pay attention, all her albums have little flaws. So why the fuck does it have to be a big deal with NFR??? Except the white noises (which are in tracks produced by Rick, not Jack), most of the flaws that you guys found are nearly impossible to notice, or don't bother. I never found the volume changes annoying. I think it brings more intensity to the songs. And it's not like it's going to break your ears.
I swear some of you are arguing for hours on how bad the production of NFR is without even looking around and realising that the album y'all praise (UV) has more flaws than the one you criticise.

P.S.: If flaws make Jack a bad producer, that means Dan is a bad producer too, no? Let's stop with the nonsense with Jack. Thanks.

Love it - this is what we need more of on this board. Free speech but also acceptance of difference in perspectives.

Cultural elitism doesnt make for a good debating argument, yet it showcases a problematic way to look other people at. Don't really see the point on taking what should be a healthy, funny discussion towards music, to a series of nonsense, personal attacks within the forum members. I really hope that nobody has to start keeping their legitimate views to themselves, as long as they are respectfully exposed, because of fearing being judged like this. Let's keep the dialogue enjoyable for all.

the only song from nfr ive listened to in the past month is doin time

HTD's obvious volume increase at 1:21 + HIAB's very choppy backing vocals are also things I noticed on my first listen

If you're a casual fan you're probably not listening closely. Critics are hardly going to be listening to Lana's album on repeat at every part of the day at full volume. The reason we hear it is because we're rabid fans who obsess over these details (as I hope we should - we're fans on LANAboards). I had a quick skip through and these are some of the things I heard (some with timestamps so you can find them quickly)

    Norman Fucking Rockwell
This is so sloppy the whole thing might be style choice. Throughout the opening you can hear things moving, lips smacking etc.
    0:18 – 0:22: Lips moving

Mariners + Venice Bitch + Happiness is a Butterfly
    Good!

    Fuck It I Love You
I mean, arguably you all hate the CD alt version so you tell me.

    Cinnamon Girl
0:28: This is very obviously a different take with clearer vocals.
1:41 – After “Kerosine” you can hear a case or something shift in the background

    Doin’ Time –
Perfect because it has totally different production.

    Love Song
0:27: Instrumental loop drops in volume and then restarts noticeably.
1:04 – On ‘Oh, be my once in a lifetime’, the mic placement is closer to her, which causes the vocal line to be louder. This doesn’t happen in the second chorus, but the bass is boosted higher.

    How to Disappear
0:07 onwwards: The instruments are crackling and peaking slightly on the bass. Maybe it’s a . . . choice.
0:51: The microphone peaks and her voice whistles (from no hi pass filter) on the word ‘to’
2:37: The mixing is bad. The vocals are too quiet compared to the first portion of the song, now with very loud backing.

    The Next Best American Record
0:07 + 0:10 there is a scuff on the guitar where the frets are moved.
Vocals have an ambient hiss behind them (not Jack’s fault, a trademark Rick fuck up)
    1:21 “Fame” reverb echo.

    Bartender
    Vocals have the ambient hiss

    The Greatest
4:08: in the left speaker you can hear the guitar shifting against pants.

    California
    Vocals have ambient hiss

    Hope
Fine I guess, but would you really consider this as well produced as the rest of the album. You can hear lip smacks and the mouth opening and there’s hiss but they proudly did this in one take . . .

At the end of the day, you can clearly hear these nitpicks. They're nitpicks, but they're there, and you look like a fool for saying that they don't exist simply because they do. I love love LOVE NFR! but it's undeniable that

HOWEVER, if you're not an audiophile or you're not consistently listening to it with high quality headphones, you would never pick up on these. This shit happens all the time across every genre - at the end of Florence + The Machine's 'What the Water Gave Me' you can hear someone moving their drumsticks, you can hear someone cough in the back of Madonna's 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina', on The Little Mermaid legacy collection random instrumental fades come up here and there.

It's disappointing when simple mistakes like this happen since to me, it sounds like someone hasn't given it a proper listen with the same care that's been put into making it. Maybe it's a stylistic choice, and a result of the album being made quickly, but frankly I'm not interested in having this lack of attention again on White Hot Forever simple because I like cleaner sounding records. Jack is a talented musician and will go down as a modern legend, and NFR! deserves the praise buttt

Yes, here here. How can anyone claim that NFR is more cohesive than HM when its music was produced by at least three different people! TNBAR has the same textual and sonic patches as Heroin and 13 Beaches. Bartender is beautiful but fuckin' random. Doin' Time is super hot but from like, literally another planet. Ultraviolence is more cohesive but sonically HM has it going on from start to end.

i really do not think that any of us are convincing anyone to not listen to the album...i actually love them album but does that mean i can't be *slightly* critical of it? Once again - "critically acclaimed" is bullshit for the most part, so you can get the delusional thoughts out of your head now...

I love all the albums mentioned but Honeymoon is an absolute masterpiece and her best body of work next to Ultraviolence. Hands down her most cohesive with arguably the best production out of any of her albums.

    Oh yeah?

There it is again. It really seems like her family has some sort of dirty laundry that she's now emotionally ready to share, but doesn't want to until certain family members are gone. And apparently thinks that in 10 years they could be? Or at least that's the impression she wants to give.
Lana has done this sort of thing in interviews since the beginning: Hint at things that sound a little scandalous, but then not tell you. Honestly this is a big part of why she still retains some mystique even though we know a lot about her. She's a puzzle you can't quite figure out.
