  1. Not sure if it’s been said already but “to light up your nights” puts me in mind of Stevie Nicks’ duet with Don Henley “Leather & Lace”. The male voice sings “I knew with you to light my nights, somehow I’d get by.”
  2. It could be about physical abuse that sent her to the hospital, but I interpret this song as about mental/psychological abuse that sent her to the psych ward (behind the iron gates!). I feel like most dads would step in if mom was physically attacking a child but might think it's "just" mom/daughter stuff if mom and daughter are verbally fighting, not realizing how much it hurt Lana. Or I may be projecting, ngl Anyway, this song hits hard, and I don't think there's any coming back from her estrangement with Patty after publicly reducing her to "Dad's wife".
  3. It's an expression meaning something is so exactly as expected that it's cliche' or bog-standard-- she's saying in a slightly self-deprecating way that you could put her in the dictionary or the psych textbook under "daddy issues". I love it; it really is a clap-back to all the haters who have slammed her for calling men "daddy" in her songs (although that was ages ago-- we know she holds a grudge!).
  4. "And always make the sheets smell like gardenias" But it does sound like our Denny's! "there's gaps to fill in, so here" "running on star drip IVs for so long" ...in the hospital, the IV (intravenous) drip she is hooked up to is full of stars (or drugs that make her see stars). "with Lithium came poetry" 'cuz I'm 99% sure she means the Nirvana song "Lithium" as well as the drug (or instead of the drug). Listening to Nirvana = she started writing poetry. "Comfortably Numb" is, of course, the Pink Floyd song. These are the songs she listened to while depressed, but they inspired her to write, is what I'm getting. She talks about listening to Nirvana in other songs too of course. At the end I hear "nothing will burn you" and then "it's you from whom I learn"
  5. God I wish I was with my father He could see us in all our splendour ... Other men I met felt right But would smile at you and stick a knife In your back, finally I met you...
  6. OH MY GOD. THE WAY SHE DID THAT... THE WAY WE WON... The way the entire trinity is so sad but so sexy and so LANA but also a little bit early Tori Amos (raw vocals over piano) and WHAT is that early-Nine-Inch-Nails percussion on WW and that is definitely a bit of surf-noir on Text Book. And the way her sisters come every May to paint over the banisters the man painted, 'cuz they help her get over him And all of her "text book" daddy issues ("looking for the father I wanted back") and mommy issues are just OUT THERE without apology and also how she feels/felt about being the other woman ("and then there was the issue of her; I didn't even like myself") just DAMN. "do you think if I go blonde we could get our old love back?" is the new "if I get a little prettier can I be your baby"
  7. WHAT is this chaotic energy? Let’s just enjoy the eve of this blessed triple event! One big room and it’s full of mad bitches again (j/k I love you all but you do give me heart palpitations)
  8. I can’t actually tell what it sounds like from that. I am so excited anyway!!!
  9. also known as... Lanaboards I actually had a Lana dream last night: I saw her in person and asked when BB would be out. She said this April. I said, it’s already May? She just laughed.
  10. It does kind of sound like “color wheel”! But it also sounds like she could still be figuring out the lyric and just mumbling a placeholder. I think at one point the background bit switches to “we could have everything”. I’m obsessed with this song now
  11. The way this thread is harshing my French Restaurant mellow vibe : Anyway. The beautiful new leaks really do make me wish for an album of her favorite Unreleased, perhaps with a couple of newly written tracks as a bonus. BB + FR would be a match made in heaven.
  12. I’m still trying to mentally reconcile the BB snippet with the angry revenge album...maybe a totally different album of course, but in my head BB does a 180 turn in the middle and turns into Roses: “you promised to help me paint the banisters...but then we start to fight, tumble down the staircase”
  13. I kinda low-key thought this WAS the album trailer? I don't think the clip is from a BB music vid...seems to be footage for a TJF vid that never saw the light of day.
  14. Clay posted a blue heart as a comment under the snippet I like the continuity of her favorite color connecting so many of her songs... all the way from kissin’ in the blue dark to now.
  15. It’s beautiful. Wow. She and Clay are so sweet in the video clip. I wonder what she meant about the next chapter... for her sake, I hope it means having her Clementine and whatever else she really wants.
  16. Not me thinking for a minute she was going to have two albums, Rock Candy Sweet in June and then Blue Banisters in July. Then realizing BB is probably the re-titled RCS. But maybe both are titles of songs on the album. Make it make sense.
  17. Same wavelength! I was just thinking I want a Lana Barbie just like this Our minds!
  18. Which she predicted in her Doin' Time video! I don't know if you all have seen the crazy hype about the hot Giantess in the upcoming video game Resident Evil 8 (this article, for example) but every time I see someone make comments like wanting her to step on them and squash them etc, I think about Lana in that video. Curvaceous Lana can squash us anytime.
  19. Lip gloss, acrylics, and shades are the best revenge!
  20. She looks amazing in the selfie at the end.
  21. It’s like they threw Lana poems and lyrics in a blender! Not bad though.
  22. This is so specific that it could be a Lana lyric. Ohio BBQ Freak. But she’d pronounce it “Oh-hee-oh” for no reason. We should go back to Ohio Trade this body for a plate of ‘que Out behind my family shed, darlin’ Where you know just what to do...,
  23. Paradise-era Lana in concert smoking cigarettes, wearing a long sleeve wedding dress chopped into a minidress, plus huge retro hair, is peak Lana to me. So weird and cool and glam all at once. Iconic.
  24. Jack is nerdy cute, but the bigger issue to me is that I think he and Lana have done all that can be done in the piano ballad mode, so it is time for a fresh direction for her. I do love some of the piano ballads! But I think anymore would verge on self parody. Especially if there are jingle bells
  25. Her little boots are so cute. But Nikki pressuring her to sing that song when it seems like she and Clay are breaking up...
