Unpopular (or maybe popular?) I hate when Lana fans act as if Lana is a natural looking person.

Like it's painfully obvious that she has had permanent work done on her face, and gets fillers/procedures done every now and then. Not saying she doesn't look great (although sometimes it's a little iffy), but there's literally no point in denying that Lana has had work done at this point.

Since the release of NFR I was so happy that she wanted to recreate her old DIY style videos, but now I realise how NFR DIY and Lizzy Grant DIY are different. As much as I love Chuck's photos, I think those last videos are a bit boring and "lazy".

Lana announced in September 2018 her poetry book. It should be released before the NFR! album which was supposed to be out in the beginning of 2019

Finally in December 2019 she realized that it took longer to publish the book then she thought

But I'm happy we'll get a spoken word album. We stan

The bit about her family lineage/Native Americans "informing her next album" ...

    I'm scared

So she's supporting the Warren campaign? :troll:
Whether it refers to a spoken word album the profits of which she's donating to Native American organizations or an upcoming album she says is inspired by her exploring her own heritage, I guess "White Hot Forever" is kind of an apt title if a little on the nose.
Gonna have a field day with this if I ever complete my Lana Del Reydio covers show follow-up podcast.
    Love casinos, Indian reservations reparations

I just wanted to say that the idea of her hand binding/pressing/whatever all of the books herself is total bs and im not falling for it

Once this is released I'm going to overlay her poems with classical music and make a contemporary circus show about it. I'm only kind of joking!

I love that she's donating some of the proceeds to Native American organizations <3

Oh good for Lana seriously. Although, maybe in the eyes of critics NFR will have bigger shoes to fill, but comparatively to her first three records and fan appreciation/perception, this could easily be surpassed.

Can't wait for what she brings next!

california is the worst song on the album i truly don’t get why it’s so popular.

How boring. Reusing footage that was released over a year ago, filming 3 songs on your iphone 8mm app when you have all the money in the world to at least buy an expensive retro camera, deciding to give bartender (her most boring song to date) visuals or even the slightest bit of attention and just ignoring the best songs on the album (love song, california, hope). Like forreal though. Aren't we all tired of this now? I already know how this video is gonna go and i haven't even seen it, i bet its just most of the footage in the album trailer of her pretending to be a witch, the scrapped hiab footage that we've already seen, and occasional repeptitive footage of a POV view of a car riding around LA

Summer Bummer is deeply underrated - I understand why much of the fandom wouldn't appreciate it because of how heavily hip-hop it is, but I think it's this brilliant combination of dark yet charming, light yet heavy, hard-hitting yet laidback. It's danceable and a real summer jam but it's also a little sinister and devilish. Also I fckn LOVE the lyrics: "You can't escape my affection, wrap you up in my daisy chains"; "White lines and black beaches and miles in between us"; "We travel for weeks just to escape your demons".

with a few exceptions (such as the amazing Hope... and a couple others) i hate how lazy lana's songwriting/lyricism has become. don't get me wrong, i know she's always had her moments and that's fine - a good song is a good song and sometimes it's more fun for music to be catchy and addictive and create an atmosphere than to act as a lyrical masterpiece. but still, there are so many songs that just make me wince because of how little effort i can tell was put into the lyrics.

take California for example - i have lots of problems with the track, but the lyrics are probably my biggest. "if you come back to america you should just hit me up" is just.... bland, low effort and sounds like something you might text to a friend. "faster than my fastest cars" is a horrible lyric that - and i'm sorry to be so negative - sounds like something a 9 year old boy who's obsessed with cars might write for an elementary school homework project. like... of ALL the things you could've written lana you choose to write that??

i also hate how she rhymes "mind" with "mind" on FIILY lmao. it's a minor nitpick but again, so lazy. The Greatest is one of my absolute favourite lana songs EVER and i'm so so so happy we have it, but i definitely hate how often she repeats the same lines because, i assume, she was too lazy and unbothered to try think anything else up.

however, this isn't a NFR exclusive thing at all. in fact, the title track, Hope, MAC, and a couple others i really really REALLY love lyrically. this album has some of her finest lyrical moments. this has been a bit of a theme with lana for a little while. just look at Freak - those lyrics are awful. lana has an abundance of songs with lazy writing. i just wish she'd refine her lyrical work a little more before recording i guess

Hmmm, I don't think lyrically it strays too far away from classic Lana, if anything I'd say that the majority of LFL was much tamer than NFR. Something about this record just feels really different to me? Like LFL is my least favourite and at times felt very forced-happy (Love, LFL, Get Free etc) but it still felt like classic Lana (13 Beaches, Cherry etc)...

I don't know if I'm making sense but like it's kinda like all the pieces are still there, they just don't fit together the same way they used to
