I don’t think I have it in me to write an objective review of the show now. She didn’t vape tho!

Luckily I had a friend that helped/encouraged me to stay to wait for her. She came out after 1am with her dad and Sean. I’d guess a good 50 people waiting. Mostly we talked to her dad, he showed us the pics he posted of Chuck since it was her birthday. He was TOTALLY cute. But she did come down to our side of the crowd. My friend gave her a pin and asked for a selfie and then shoved me in front and said he’s seen you 19 times! And that caught her attention and she started to talk to me.

She talked to me! She asked me my name. She said she recognized me from down in the front. I was at barrier. I don’t know if she was blowing smoke up my ass by saying she recognized me but she said it. She said you gave me life down there. She actually said that! I told her thank you from the bottom of my heart for the music. I think it’s important to say that when you meet someone like this. I did say this is nice to get to say Hi to you and thank you but really thank you from the bottom of my heart for your music. She asked me where I was from and I said Indiana and you should play Indianapolis again and she said she is in April! Secret knowledge!!!

Then she grabbed my phone and took two photos of us. Two! I did stick my head on another girls selfie before that lmao. But she took an actual selfie with me. I never thought that would happen. I really didn’t. I leave that to the kids. And I would still go to all of her shows if it hadn’t. But the main thing is she talked to me. A whole minute in that little crowd. She was the nicest person.

My friend and I backed out of the crowd to let her go to more people and she did. I was very surprised she did what she did. This Nashville show was a lot bigger than the other venues of the tour. And with Chuck’s birthday (her brother was also there) I didn’t think she’d come out to talk to everyone individually like she did. But she did. She was just so nice. I had the best night.

That very first bass drop in the second chorus of Video Games... so unexpected but so impactful
The guitar in the second pre-chorus of Happiness is a Butterfly is unbelievable, add so much to a song??
The gospel-style backing vocals (the "ooooh"s) in the Ultraviolence bridge
The sax/trumpet (I can't tell the difference hahaha) that comes in the bridge of Art Deco, uuuugh that takes that song from a 6 to a 10 for me
For some reason I always get chills at "Kanye West is blind and gone/Life on Mars ain't just a song" in The Greatest
I always look forward to "You talk to the walls when the party gets bored of you" in Norman Fucking Rockwell, probably because I dated a guy exactly like that lmao
When that first chorus hits in Black Beauty it's so so special
At around 5:48 in Venice Bitch when the sort of fast electric guitar (I'm not sure how else to describe it) comes in for a moment and builds up anticipation for that glorious moment at 6:04 when Lana's vocals come back and she's singing "aaaah, aaaaahhhh!" in a wild, almost shouty way       I love it SO MUCH it's so uncharacteristic of her to be so raw and almost out-of-tune but it sounds incredible, sad, angry and passionate all at once.     I'm obsessed with that part of the song.
"It's not one of those phases I'm going through, or just a song, it's not one of them, I'm on my own, on my own, on my own again" in The Blackest Day... so raw and honest
I honestly believe one of the most sincerely cool moments in Lana's entire discography is the part of Brooklyn Baby where she sings "If you don't get it then forget it, 'cuz I don't have to fuuuuuckin' explaaaaaaain iiiiiit" - tell them sis!!! She captures the spirit of not giving a fuck so well!!

"you're in the art, i light the fire" - i thought this was the lyric at first and now i can't move past it bc to me it's like her man (who writes, i.e. "you write, i tour") views her as his muse; he's in the arts, but she lights his fire of inspiration

"watcha been up to my baby, haven't seen much of you lately" in HTD - for some reason my brain just naturally forms the lyrics that way hahaha i feel like it goes better

so... 11 songs from her actual discography plus a medley. this is insane.

her mainstream career spans almost a decade, she has a huge and extremely devoted fanbase that knows her music like the back of their own hands, and she has a reputation for being an album artist rather than a singles artist.... not to mention the woman is TALENTED AF even if she's not exactly showing it off right now. i don't get it. what's stopping her from doing this properly? no MAC, no SOC, no CG, even WM - one of her easiest songs to sing - is seemingly no longer on the setlist. three songs from NFR on the so-called "NFR Tour" isn't okay.

it's just silly. she keeps cutting more and more songs (aren't tours meant to improve the more dates you play, not the other way around?) and now i'm worried about my date

Song of the Year is awarded for a single or for one track from an album. This award goes to the songwriter who actually wrote the lyrics and/or melodies to the song. "Song" in this context means the song as composed, not its recording.

Maybe they should've gone for TG instead though but even a nomination is still amazing

(Mods, move this to the news section later, I’m too impatient to wait for the mod approval)

Lana Del Rey was just nominated twice by the Grammy Academy Award for Norman Fucking Rockwell! - song of the year and album of the year! Let’s celebrate!!

Also worth mentioning, Jack Antonoff is nominated for Producer of the year! (another nominee is Dan Auerbach who produced Lana's Ultraviolence album - interesting!)

And Lana, if you truly are lurking here, I'll take the liberty to say that all of us here on LanaBoards wish you good luck and

I think it's actually a metal screamo song an the chorus goes:

LET  MEE  LOVE    YOUU  LIKE A    WOMAAAN

And then the verses are sweet piano like Love song, no fucking doubt about that.

RIGHT LMAOOOOOO like i'm not even against covers but..... the same cover every single night???? i like For Free, but it's really not an exciting song that i'd be particularly thrilled to hear live. yaaaaawwwwnnnnnnn

i also don't think that cover is gonna translate well at all when she comes to the UK for example - we don't do american folk music much over here so i think people will be very confused
don't burn yourself on that tea you spilled
