new here! Joining at the start of a new album rollout but ive stalked the forum for like ten years as a guest

So obsessed with WW! I have missed these low vocals and the atmospheric production. COCC was cute but looking back it was all getting a bit too minimal and shrill for the Lana I fell in love with. This feels like a return to form.
 
also love the message of BB. Assuming the banisters are a metaphor for the supporting structures of her ascension / progress as an artist / person. You need banisters to move up. Men that break her heart turn them blue (classic sad lana trope) but her family and friends make them grey at first (at best I can say I’m not sad) but they’re green when the seasons turn because they make her life happy and enrich it like nature. Also maybe it’s an allegory for depression / seasonal affective disorder??

I feel like it’d be easy to paste a song over another.

are kinda connected with each other and it means that she found her true love and she just lost it, im scared that shes talking about police officer

I really hope the rest of the record has these complex, poetic structures. The emotional reward and payoff is amazing

I really don't see how the BLM lyric is problematic. She's saying she's screaming "BLM" so...??? how is that even an issue? she's saying she was at a rally (which is true and we saw, there were videos her when she was there)... standing with solidarity with a human rights group is now a problem? i don't get that lmao whoever's upset must be a cop or something bc... yikes

The three songs sure are growers. I am impressed how « minimal » Mike Dean went with WW. 

I think this album will be her most realist, raw and straightforward body of work. The lyrics reminded my of Fiona Apple. 
 
It's so dense, that I don't know if I'm going to be listening to it on repeat. My second listening it's going to be tomorrow 

the way we haven't heard those ambient background samples since honeymoon maybe.. text bible is giving us everything and more

Well... I like 'Blue Banisters' and 'Wildflower Wildfire' a lot, the song structure is interesting and the lyrics are very good imho.
 
But the song that has me shook is most definitely 'Text Book'—it's giving me all I ever wanted to hear on a Lana song for a while now. It's sooo good. I'm shook, I can't stop listening, it almost cured my adult acne.

'Text Book' gets better with each listen, it's giving me 'Heroin', 'Get Free' and 'West Coast' fusion. I stan.

Text Book is the song I had literally no expectations for, but it turned out to be the absolute serve of this triple release.
