I can’t get into most of the alt-pop girls like Lorde, Melanie Martinez, Allie X, Christine and the Queens etc.
I just can’t connect with their music like I do with Lama’s or Marina’s

Her ACM performance gave me LIFE. Her no make up look, the curly hair, the boss pants - I loved it Praying for a European tour next year, something like the planned Lover Fest but all in stripped down Folklore style, please M'am.

Her boyfriend had better stay FAR away from this next album. I like Clean Bandit but his production lowkey tainted L+F.

The more albums that get released in 2020, the more it becomes clearer that Taylor is truly at the top of her game. She's miles ahead of everyone else sonically and lyrical--and tbh i think its because of her close relationship with her fans. She doesn't really write about her own celebrity-world troubles in her music, she writes them from the perspective of her average teenage fans, who share stories with her and she listens; and that's what makes her music so universally relatable. Not many of us can relate to living for cheering crowds, or overcoming the confusing world of celebrity--but we can all relate to love triangles, high school drama, drifting apart from our childhood friends, etc. etc. And that's why all her music has always been "folklore", bc it captures the common feelings of a group/subculture, and not just Taylor herself

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the amazing, spectacular, flawless, magnificent, ethereal British Fairy Princess Florence Leontine Welch.
I've had a really, really, really shit past 48 hours but she makes me so happy. I will never forget the night I saw her live and she threw her cape open in the opening notes of Only If For A Night. Magical and wonderful.
A QUEEN, truly.
In celebration, I encourage everyone to post their favourite Florence song
It's extremely difficult to only choose one, but of course I choose the really dramatic one she wrote whilst high:

I think she’s definitely eager to get something out since she’s aware that people didn’t love L+F. However, I don’t think it’ll come that late. She’ll probably be done writing the album by the end of this year, which means demos and such are being done already. I think proper producing and mastering will be done by spring 2021, with the album coming by early summer. Obviously a lot of stuff could happen between now and then, but with how vocal she’s been about the progress of the writing, I think she’s definitely eyeing a release next year.

kinda tired of all the TS hate i see on other corners of this website.. like I'm all for everyone having their own opinion but it's just so glaringly clear that the majority of people who hate her haven't listened to any of her music other than the singles from previous albums.

I honestly feel like L+F was her Lust for Life; some songs are bops but the overall project feels... less authentic than her previous? I was shocked when she stated in an interview <I didn't really have a concept for this album. I was just writing music. Then I realized some songs represented "love" and others "fear", giving me the idea to make a double record.> ...Like why waiting 4 years and taking a 6 month psychology class to 'find yourself', when at the end you came up with a very basic concept in a few days
Still don't think this is a bad album, but definitely didn't top my favorite which is FROOT.
I remember being SO hyped for her comeback when she dropped Handmade Heaven, I wish she had kept the original concept it looked perfect

I totally get wanting to move away from the "Marina and the Diamonds" moniker considering it makes her sound like a band and definitely was something she thought up when she was really young and moody, but how do you have such an amazing last name like "Diamandis" and you go only by your first name?? Makes no sense to me aesthetically, but also from the record label's standpoint I don't know why they didn't urge her to go with that due to the other artists named "Marina". It would also give more recognition to people who don't follow enough to know that MATD is now Marina. And plus, she always seems so proud of her Greek culture, and using her surname of Diamonds in Greek would have been perfectly on brand for her.

We have established that folklore is the best album released this year so far, right?
