I personally am not a big fan of some of Lana's covers. I  would prefer for her to cover someone less capable than she is vocally and make the song better than doing less than the original performer.
For exemple I've gotten used to her Nina Simone cover but I think her vocals being compared to Nina's don't do her justice.

There is a lot of room for turning Britney's catalogue upside down and making it your own.

This exemple is great. There are also a lot of cool covers of Toxic out there.

I do agree tough that lyrically, there are not many of Britney's songs that matches the level of Lana's. But then again Break up with your girlfriend isn't singer songwriter material but it worked fine with Lana if only for once as a live rendition. I do believe she said multiple times she loves Britney, hence people anticipating a cover.

I personally like to be surprised and discovering a song with Lana covering it like she did with For Free for exemple. I also like it if it fits the narrative of the album. For Free is not a revolution of the song, nor is it a better performance than the original but I believe it was rightly chosen for COCC so that was fine with me.

covering Creep by Radiohead would be audacious

I had never thought of Lolita that way  Truth be told, Im not the biggest Britney fan, so that’s why I wouldn’t want her to cover one of her songs. That being said, I do trust her for her song choices:
if she feels she’ll do a good job covering it, she probably will.

She literally invented artistic self porn. It's surely gonna become a trend on TikTok if isn't already.

She's so cute in this video, especially the moments in that costume. Her face is at time like she's a child again

Wasn't Utopia's version of Allow allegedly very straightforward and melodic?
I feel like we might get something for the bjöp lovers after all.

i feel like Björk is so in her own lane and giving so much "eternal musical genius prodigy" that the big music critics dont dare touch any sort of negativity or examining her (admittedly incredible and amazing) art as like a layperson.  she is absolutely groundbreaking and doing stuff no one else does, and playing with the possibilities of sound and music, and i'm so grateful.  but i do wonder what it would be like if she tried to make even just one new song that could be immediately accessed and understood by someone who hasn't been initiated into the musical scaffolding of Björk.
    she used to make bops
now its all this discordant weird time signatures stuff thats brilliant but i know this bitch has it in her to serve another bop.  even just one!

Agreed. Hopefully there’s a good mix on the album. If it’s all chaotic mushroom rave music i’ll have a headache by track 4.

It looks like a continuation of Biophilia in the rhythm I like. The visuals, the sets are magnificent and Bjork, despite her ever-increasing extravagance, is sublime.
But I understand those who don't like it because it's been quite repetitive and hard on the ear for a few eras and there are few surprises.

Too much experimental kills the experimental. I hope she will let this album breathe a little with lighter titles after the compact (not to say indigestible, Utopia).
She announced a dancing and clubbing album, I must dream but I expect a slightly more generic record.

On first listen I am very surprised yet it is so Bjork.
I'll need more listens to even know how I feel about it but it is very promising.
I love the concept of the video. A rave party immersed in the fungus with queen Bee-york

i absolutely love it.  somehow this song is accessed more easily than a lot of her other lead singles in recent years.  it's perfect for this time, for what we're going through.  so much of modern politics concerns how people with differing identities are absolutely disparate, disconnected from others, with experiences unable to be understood, but we are all human.  our differences are irrelevant.  placing this wall between us and others is just excuses to Not connect.  i've personally been struggling with this thing:  when i try to be kind to others, open, generous, personable, i am opening myself to vulnerability, to the possibility of rejection.  i started a new job where i try to be nice to everyone, to introduce myself and be kind, be open.  but some people shut me down, be rude, make me feel hurt for even trying.  and i think, if i close myself off, don't be nice, don't open myself to that vulnerability to rejection, i don't have to deal with this.  but if i do that, i also shut myself off from any possible connection with the beautiful, wonderful others who i love to get to know.  Bjork is really coming thru.  this is so timely, important, relevant, meaninglful.  we HAVE to connect.  our plants MUST reach out, within reason, to see we are all one wondrous, indescribable, ineffable living organism called THE EARTH

I'm a big Utopia apologist because it really hits my sensitivity. I especially enjoy this track by track description on i-D which captures its vibes perfectly.
Idc flutes were an interesting choice and there's a great contrast between them and the beats. Personally, I've never felt bored while listening to it. Saint makes me want to cry honestly

I like utopia, I think the flutes are gorgeous, and I really think sonically it’s captures the “utopian” sound she was going for excellently. It’s also not accessible melodically or harmonically, there are no tracks to just throw on casually, so I think it doesn’t have as much replay value. Like I can certainly get stoned and put it on as a soundtrack to a beautiful walk or something, but I’m not listening to the tracks individually ever.
