White Girl Forever

OK first thoughts about the new poem (and I might be wrong af, but ... my initial thoughts):
 
 
She's roasting her mother.
She = Sylvia Plath (makes sense, 'cos she compared herself to her in Hope)
 
Don't take all your secrets alone to your watery grave about
lovers and mother
 
^ she's already told us a SHITLOAD about her lovers, so
 
The secrets you keep will keep you in deep like Father and Amy and brother
And all of the people you meet on the street will reiterate lies that she uttered
 
But alas this is a real life - and it's been a real fight just to
keep my mind from committing treason.
Why you ask?
Because she told the towns people I was crazy and the lies they started to believe them
 
Amy = Chuck maybe? Or another relo. And I interpret it as being about when her parents kicked her out and sent her to boarding school, and it sounds like she blames her mum ..."the towns people" = people in her hometown?
 
"Committing treason" would be betraying your own family member, surely. So in other words, she won't tell anyone what a bitch her mum was .. although she just did with this poem, hence:
 
And now that I've gone scorched earth
 
Would standing in front of Mount Rushmore feel like the Great
American homecoming I never had?
 
Didn't get to have a normal schooling with homecoming n shit, maybe?

Would the magnitude of the scale of the sculpture take the place of the warm embrace I've never known.
 
= never had a good relationship with her mum

I actually think part of this poem might be alluding to a suicide attempt:

late at night on a slow boat bound for Catalina for no reason
 
Tiny beads of sweat dot my forehead
could be mistaken for dew drops if this were photo season.
 
Maybe she had plans to throw herself off the boat? "Beads of sweat" ... wanting to kill herself but it's still scary when you're actually about to do it? Anxious? Hysterical (and sweating as a result)? 
 
I'm dark and twisted, though, so ... 

idk if i'd wanna watch Lana live if i could. i'd probably go anyways but i see too many of her videos barely singing its like you cant hear her at all and she'll even cover the mic sometimes for the effect or something

also i wish she was never so hung up on the image of being mysterious. back in her lizzy grant days she was much more open about what her songs meant 

I would see her again if I could but it would really do wonders for her shows if she ditched the heavy backing vocals. And sang louder. I get that her performance quality usually depends on her mood but that isn't really fair to the people who pay so much money to see her.
 
She should give it her all at each show... and even get a little weird and creative with her vocals like she used to in 2012-13.
But it's Lana and we never know what we're going to get so whatever lol

I've seen her live before it was the last year, and honestly she sounded amazing idk why maybe cuz she took a break before she came here (UAE)? but that was so magical

i hate when people push for her to be casted as priscilla presley or sharon tate. she doesn't even look like them, she just does her hair and makeup to emulate the era. hiring an actor purely on the basis of how similar their fashion is is recipe for a shit movie. and she's really just not the best at acting anyways

LFL and NFR were not Lana Del Rey albums and I think that's why they were disappointing to me and I didn't enjoy them very much. Lana Del Rey is tragic, dramatic, cinematic, larger than life, glamorous, etc. NFR was maybe like a modern May Jailer, idk who LFL was but I'm not interested in finding out anyways lmfao. I hope COCC brings the return of Miss Del Rey, though it really doesn't sound like it will. White Hot Forever was such a Lana title I'm sad she changed it :/ I'm really not interested in Lana's out of touch takes on reality lmfao. I go to her music for escapism, I don't want to hear lyrics about ipads or revolutions or that she has a tile floor and takes anti depressants or whatever or i'll literally kill myself like i need a break
 
Jack's production is so boring and lackluster. ik yall keep  saying "but that's what she wanted! that's what they were going for!" then.... that's sad for them

i'm pretty sure i remember a line in a lizzy grant song like "me and my ma we dont get along", but she also said something like "my mothers glamour lives on". She's also seen posing with her mom in a lot of photos. cause most "fans" like her in an obsessive way not a genuine respect way

They haven't been photographed together since like 2014 (though I could be wrong). But I agree, I feel like they just don't have that mother/daughter relationship. I don't feel like she genuinely hates her, but like you said, she just isn't that close to her and that's totally valid I think.
