As long as everyone in GA, Omaha, and elsewhere still vote and enter that voting booth with the conviction that their vote counts, Harris can win regardless of hand counted ballots and a Nebraska winner-takes-all model.

ah thanks for letting me know. that is a shame. Ultimately, I still think a tie (269-269, leading to a Trump victory in the house) is unlikely 🤞even if Nebraska switches to winner takes all. This is a cheap ploy because they realize they’re losing, and I think the chances of Harris winning PA but losing all of NV, AZ, NC, and GA are low (I assume she’ll win at least one if she holds the blue wall) it would be a shame to not have NE-2, as it’s my personally bellwether, as it seems to want to vote with the winner of the election recently.

Maine should also convert to “winner takes all” if Nebraska does. Without the extra electoral vote Trump would get from ME-2 (he received in 2016 and 2020), he could not win even if he gets all of Nebraska

I agree with your last statement, @DeadSeaOfMercury, but overall I am against the death penalty bc our justice system is (and always will be) imperfect, and better to waste resources than execute the wrong person.

Genres are a funny little concept, aren't they? Yes, they are. In theory, they have a simple definition that's easy to understand. But in practice, well, some may feel confined. I can’t imagine there won’t be some “tongue-in-cheek” elements of Lana going country. Even if her instrumentation, melodies, and production are traditionally country - I imagine the visuals, lyrics, etc. would def have elements of irony

actually I owe @urgirl an apology, bc her and I have agreed on/had positive dialogue on some issues (like Afghanistan, altho for legal/moral reasons not on the execution of a president, and on the slippery slope of twitter bannings) - I just got really riled up bc, of the vodka like I made clear, I am not willing to have a dialogue/debate on certain rights 💙🩷

Anyways now that the buzz from my pitcher of vodka cranberries is wearing off, I will say, I am by no means a staunch supporter of this current administration - in fact, I agreed with many critics in the past on matters such as the Afghanistan withdrawal, sending huge amounts of money to Iran (by unfreezing assets), and their lack of a true plan for the future of healthcare. But when my absentee ballot finally arrives (my home state sends them only 29 days before the election), I will be voting for Harris, because I believe all of the above is less disastrous than a second Trump Presidency - one where he does not have to worry about re-election. I don't even necessarily consider myself a Democrat - I strongly believe that big government is not always the answer, and that some level of privatization is beneficial. But I am unmoving on issues such as abortion, gay, trans rights and other liberties for minorities. That is not an area where I ever want to have to "debate" anyone on, and I won't apologize for my strong beliefs on those matters - and again, while a Harris/Walz admin won't be perfect, it is by FAR the better viable option.

sorry but i really do think you just love playing devil's advocate. I uniquely remember you being mad/questioning Trump getting banned from Twitter on Jan. 6th, 2021. You also suggested Joe Biden should be executed for the Afghanistan Withdrawal (which, for the record, I agree was a disaster, and needs answering for, but not via an electric chair). You claim to just be presenting a dialogue, but I think that's simply a way for you to voice your true beliefs without getting outright dragged on this left-leaning forum. Also who died and put you in charge of who can share what beliefs of LanaBoards dot com? I am not in a court of law, and there is no judge and jury
