This thread is starting to feel like home I hope she never stops lying about this album... The journey we'll look back on more fondly than the album I'm sure

When Sky said “One” in that song she really meant it huh

Just wanted to say because I've been seeing some chatter about it, there are no plans for this thread to be locked. Even if Sky doesn't release soon, the thread will still remain open. The only time a thread is really locked is if it is requested by the creator, the artist themselves, or if the thread gets really out of hand. So, don't fret Little Ferraris, at least the dicussion thread will be here to stay x

I wonder if she had to wait to tour in order to pay the label for the release. I know she signed long ago but 360 deals do exist and wasn't her original label bought out by the current one?

I hope she does this for her upcoming shows:

Imagine going to a festival and seeing her play 5 old songs and 5 brand new unreleased songs.

It's so sad that we will still see a lot of young talented people falling into the Capitol Records trap across the years, only because Capitol it's a "household" name and it could be their only chance...

No, her website is without a favicon ages ago. I'm saying this cause I access it lots of time (more than I should)
And yes, right after the year turned I went there & noticed the 2022 trademark but I think someway it was updated automatically?!

23 out of 31 opportunities for Sky to announce something official.

guys this is a bit CRAZY but... i've visited sky ferreira official website a few days ago, and I saw a FAVICON on the website. Now the favicon is gone and with a Wordpress icon, so they might be doing layout changes?

if you dont know what it is, is the icon that shows on the TAB of the website.

Capitol is the Hollywood Records of the 2010s

idk if anyone else remembers Niykee Heaton but she was also signed to Capital and had similar issues with them as Sky and DeathByRomy did. She made a really interesting video talking about it here:

    - She was busy with acting gigs during around 2015-2018.
    - She got sick or had health issues during around 2016-2019.
    - She has been busy recording Masochism throughout 2013-2022.
    - The pandemic axed the chance to release music planned during 2020-2021.

That's why she hasn't toured or hasn't release music (mostly because of label issues the latter one).

Also, she prepared a covers EP last year, but the information about it got leaked here in LanaBoards by an insider and it got heavy negative feedback from her fans on social media.

I don't think she would've been allowed to release NTMT if she hadn't partially paid back the work done on her (multiple) scrapped debuts. She probably exhausted the advance, which is why most of it ended up being self-funded.

This NEVER works, but I sign the petition anyway. Rather say we tried than we didn't give a fuck.

I saw a girl on Tiktok by the end of 2020 talking about Capitol Records, with a really similar issue.

It seems they only want people who can drop instant hits and are already popular, this is so fckn awful

So this isn’t directly to do with sky but I feel like it sheds light on a similar artist on her label with a slightly smaller audience. Basically two days ago DeathByRomy who’s another artist who is signed to capital came out and spoke about the treatment of artists by their label.

She states they dropped her while holding her under contract and are not letting her release songs she paid for herself. I don’t think the exact same thing has happened to sky as they’re not really trying to mold her a certain way anymore but I definitely think it sheds light on the experience of an artist working with Capitol, Why Sky hasn’t done a proper release in so long because a lot of what Romy said is similar to comments Sky made on the “not really” podcast episode about Britney.
