Falling Forever sounds like it would place third in Eurovision (complimentary)

Exact same pitchfork score as TTPD. And I really am seeing the parallels between these two albums.
 
Theyre both kind of releasing completely unnecessarily. They dont provide anything new to the artists body of work. Dont push any boundaries. Most tracks are very samey and lack identity save for a few. Its not a bad album but its not moving any measure. 
 
Theres good songs on here but this isnt a great album.
 
There were people saying Dua Lipa was the next Lady Gaga after Future Nostalgia released and her next album was going to be huge. This is definitely not that…

the album will find its little niche community/fans later on like solar power by lorde and smile by katy perry 

The album has some good tracks but overall it’s a major step down from her last album. It’s just lacking.
 
If she wanted to keep the same sound, then bring the big strong hooks and choruses from FN, otherwise go nuts and try something new. She’s done neither, it just feels very safe and uninspired tbh.
 
Falling Forever, Houdini and End of an Era are good. 

she also said she’s worked on it for 4 years, that means she’s been working on it alongside her other albums. She submitted ocean in September of ‘22 so she’s had well over a year to completely focus on Lasso, and she’s been working with Luke since November ‘23
 
idk I feel like this time it’s gonna be out around when she says. When she did the magazine in May of ‘22 she didn’t even give us ocean’s name. I think having the name ready to share means the album was in the finishing touches when she mentioned it 

I hear you. But OB came out last year, March. It's only been a little over a year. And she had the OB promo, rob grant collabs, CN video, other collabs, Coachella, etc. She works fast, but I'm not sure if she could wrap up a whole album that fast with all this other stuff happening. That being said, HM did come a year after UV, so who knows. 
 
not being dramatic - Just don't want to get disappointed if we get (yet) another delay. Nfr was excruciating. Worth it but excruciating.

I'd be happy with 13. Fun fact: she's never had an album with 13 songs on the record.

For me, the appearance of the tracklist is the most iconic thing in anticipation of the album

I agree with this, and it's made each less than perfect, not that I expect almost any artist working today to make a uniform, consistent, and cohesive album the way some artists did in the distant past, like Fleetwood Mac with Rumours, Bruce Springsteen with Born to Run, Joni Mitchell with Court & Spark, the clash with London Calling, or Tori Amos with Under the Pink and Boys For Pele. 
 
I'd like Lasso to be all-new material, specifically conceived for this project. 

can't wait for lasso to be lana's S&M era
 
also this started as a joke in my head but the more i think about it it actually lowkey kinda makes sense because she's been wanting to be back in her vulnerable, toxic relationship era 
 
"you lassoed me daddy, tied me down to the bed. your truck drove away, you left me for dead" would be iconic lyrics to be so honest and we could get an album cover where she's tied to a railroad in the desert with a train in the background coming to run her over like an old school western. it fits with the vehicle theme (never used a train on a cover) and fits question for the culture from the last 3-4 years

December -  An interview for a magazine where she briefly mentions the album, how she’s excited for it but the interview is mostly awful and about irrelevant drivel. 
 
January- Releases a budget Music video/live performance for first single in black and white has a known country singer playing guitar whilst she sings.
 
End of February - Preorder, cover and new song, Album release date for April 17th, the album title is different ‘Lasso my Heart’ or something like that. 

March - merch revealed- cowgirl hats and embroidered denim Jackets which she sells for $320 plus postage. She also adds a few new T shirts with Lasso on in white on black in basic font which are incredibly bland.
 
April -Album release and another video, critics rate the album 74 with comparisons to Beyonce but stating Lana should have stuck with her Norman Rockwell sound and style, that it falls flat at times. Guardian gives the album 3 stars making irrelevant comments about other artists like Taylor and Billie. 
 
May - Lana mentions another album she’s working on and is seen with Jack in the studio

Tbh I don’t care or mind if it’s delayed. Music so far this year has been SO solid that I’m not itching for new Lana. If she wants to take time to perfect the album, she absolutely should.
 
I love how she has really fleshed out her look/aesthetic. This is the first time in YEARS that she actually looks like the music she is about to release. 
 
my only hope for this era is an album trailer. I know a lot of artists don’t really do them anymore, but her album trailers have ALWAYS been next level, and she had big ideas for the Ocean one before the robbery. This album being her first ‘concept’ album in years deserves a world building album trailer

absolutely this!! Our little bubble is hyper aware of Lasso’s existence, but the album is far from being announced. I truly think the days of her announcing an album with a super long, drawn out pre release is over.
 
LFL I don’t blame her, because Love leaked super early and the album wasn’t even ready for yet. NFR was mentioned in September of 2018, and didn’t released until August 2019, COTCC was announced in May 2020 and ended up releasing March 2021, both almost a year later. BB had multiple release dates and a lot of silence, and was out 6 months later. 
 
Ocean I think is the almost perfect scenario. Announced something was happening and then released the first single with preorder. Granted even THAT ended up getting delayed, so it makes sense they aren’t announcing Lasso yet because this far out they probably don’t even know when it’s coming
