A troll on a different site said they were l3@k!ng the album at 10PM EST (I'm fully aware that it isn't actually going to happen but I will be disappointed regardless)

Despite everyone’s very different opinions, there’s at least one track for everyone. Each track is so different and yet they fit together.

I really don't think this is gonna be a big deal and tbh if it is so what? I never defended QFTC (because I didn't feel it was worth defending) but I defended that I still liked her and listened to her music on my social media when people were dragging her through the mud and claiming she was some psycho Trump voter. I don't care. I just don't. I and I alone control what I listen to and who I listen to and I don't give a flying fuck if some dumbass online wants to get mad about it.

The truth is, many if not most artists are going to do and say things we don't like, or express themselves clumsily, or maybe have an opinion we don't agree with, or work with people we don't like...because they are people! And people are inherently flawed, complex, maddening, self-indulgent, and sometimes clumsy. I cannot name a single artist I like who hasn't done or said something shitty, problematic, fucked up, or iffy in one way or another, at some point in time, and this applies to artists of all races, classes, sexual orientations, genders, nationalities...you name it! This is human nature.

I think a lot of people are also just bandwagoners - outrage and self-righteousness are common currencies in our culture right now (though I think the GP is getting sick of this and is tuning the outrage cycle out). Some people see others getting mad and they wanna join in, have some fun, and feel like they changed the world with their little TikTok comment or tweet about how so-and-so artist did this/said that/whatever. But it's all a fad, and the same people won't give a shit even two weeks later. I used to hang out with people (in my early to mid 20s) who were extremely Online and "Woke" (whatever that even means anymore) and I saw how they would post shit for clout and then privately still listen to the artist/watch the movie/read the book they were dragging publicly.

Pardon the psychotic essay, but long story short - instead of panicking or stressing over how the GP will perceive a stray lyric on Lana's 16 track album, I think we just need to let go and let God. If people on Twitter or TikTok or whatever want to go into outrage mode over the lyric, that's ok - that's their right! But why should that affect us at all? I'm not going to stop listening to Lana or talking about how much I love her music publicly. We don't need to explain to people - like they are children - that just because we love an artist doesn't mean we co-sign every single thing they have ever written or said or done in their lives that may have been uncomfortable, and anyone with a brain and not poisoned by Internet outrage antics knows that.

Also - a lot of people thought that QFTC was essentially going to end Lana's career and it would all be over, but that hasn't remotely been the case. The GP has the attention span of a goldfish.

You certainly have delusions of grandeur if you think that without your support that she wouldn't have enough money to live on and support herself. I, like many people on this website, work above minimum wage, and I'm doing just fine for myself. Her managers love the music, her record label supports her, and that's all that matters! We understand that you're pressed and bitter that she follows her creative muses wherever they lead her, but I promise, you're not the center of the universe.

honestly this record seems pretty divided between singer songwriter music and actual bops so i don't really think there's much to complain, everyone is having their cake and eating it

She doesn’t care much about her music from a business standpoint anymore. She’s just doing what she wants to and is happy doing so. I get she might make some fans upset by this, but she’s thriving more than ever

Girl she can retire and live off of them BTD checks for the rest of her life 😭, she is already a legend. She don’t need you!! Look at how many new fans and streams she gets without lifting a single finger. Bffr 😭😭

honestly that's what i love about her. i want to listen to women's deepest thoughts and feelings. i want to cry. i want it to hurt. i want to feel sympathy. i want to feel understood and grow as a woman myself. i want to hear women rage and cry and give her heart away.

side note lust for life is her only bad album and this is why.

I can’t wait for the review of Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Boulevard? On Red Scare. Their blue bannisters review was great and we know those whores who stan Morrisey wont attack her for not masking/being a glamorous person/not being entirely woke

tbh Kanye West was incredibly talented and his music was good. he was one of the best hip-hop producers, as well. his becoming a Nazi stained his legacy but he was talented.

It's more the "regrettably" part that I think won't go over well.

Ultimately I think it's her lack of understanding how to use sensitive language on this topic that causes her to rub people up the wrong way over and over. She's trying so hard to prove what she isn't rather than moving on it's like digging a hole for herself. We know what she means, but when she words things in this way we can't be surprised people may be bugged by it

it's always the white gays and actual latin people are unbothered and find it cute

You have to look at the full picture- saying things like my boyfriends are “rappers” in response to accusations of racism is at worst ignorant and at best misguided deflection from any personal growth.
you can’t say sh*t like this and then “I screamed for them” aswell as the mentioned lyrics on the new leaked album- fans wishing she had more guidance in regards to this isn’t fansplaining or hate mongering.

the whole picture isn't that good for her. lana is someone is presents themselves to be more republican than democrat, so woke people will run with that. QFTC, the mask, the lyrics... it just give these people great ways to try to cancel her. i understand she should say and do what she wants, its her art, but i'm still very surprised the lyric made it to the song.

But some people will perceive those actions as an attempt at a smokescreen to hide what they perceive as her real values and beliefs. She does come from a part of upstate New York where almost everyone is a Democrat. But what is a Democrat exactly, what is a Republican? Are both parties 'all alike'? It's like saying all 'Hispanic people' are almost completely alike, whether they were born in Puerto Rico or whether they were born in a small town in Brazil.

yall making me feel the need to explain myself. im not calling lana a white republican karen. all i am saying is she publicly will do things that sway more republican and that allows people to get the impression she is a republican. the mask, the questionable lyrics and press releases... it all gives them something to work with. sure she does things that are more democrat but in today's oppressed generation they will ignore all that shit the second they see you doing something questionable. lana is someone who publicly presents themselves as moderate and thats fine. yall need to understand that youre defending a system that is so corrupt anyways. both sides are fucked up. as long as she isn't hurting anyone (starts to act like kanye), let the girl live damn.

the whole lana and her political stance discourse is so retired and irrelevant. she is obviously doing a mockery just like she did with "fucked my way up to the top" or "money power glory" back then when they were criticizing her for fucking the industry to get on top or whatever. she always have done this, and she always will, her saying "regrettably a white woman" is basic humor in her lyrics where she is covering herself in the way public is making her out to be when she is no where near a karen status...

maybe listen to the ALBUM first instead of judging based on 3 songs and a couple snippets ?

jesus some of you are just insufferable, miserable, never happy… like shut up and start complaining once the album’s out
