This is a rumour I just made up solely based on the fact that The Weeknd just retweeted a video on his twitter about Lana and him talking about each other sksk.
 
But like think about it… If you were The Weeknd and you’re producing an HBO show about a popstar having a breakdown and joining a cult or whatever the fuck it’s about, who’s one of the first female artists you’d have in mind for the soundtrack? Lana Del Rey obvs. Also Sam Levinson the creator of Euphoria’s involved and already got Lana on the Euphoria soundtrack AND she submitted more than one song for Euphoria allegedly so perhaps one of them got used for The Idol hmmm… It makes a lot of sense to me IDK!

people hate him because they don't like how he produces lana's songs, but that's a huge topic of discourse and perhaps we shouldn't get into it  

Jack Antonoff did the best Lana interview ever imo. I love that Jack already knows Lana and the music so well that he doesn't get thrown off by the weird things Lana says. Would love to see them do it again.

i’m still so transfixed by OceanBlvd … i find myself wanting to play it over and over again all day.  i’m enjoying having this treasure knowing in a few months we will have much more music to enjoy & obsess over & i hope we all can appreciate how magical this song is…. it’s back to the lyricism of “throwing a punch” & making people’s minds spin in disbelief and amazement of how truly gifted a songwriter she is! it’s also so nice as a fan to have such beautiful / timeless / vintage aesthetics this era. to share and brag about. it makes me so excited as a fan for whatever this new era holds !

I agree but the fact that BOZ said Ocean Boulevard is not even the best song on the album (and by looks of it it’s not even the craziest, most experimental track either) makes me think it’s a good strategy to release a very “Lana” first single (almost as a return to roots kinda way) to lure in the audience. And then bam! Fiona Apple/Tori Amos/Kate Bush esque masterpiece that will revolutionize the game once again and further expand the gap between Lana and her lesser contemporaries (namely: Trailer Swift) who borrow so much from her but never quite match her genius.
