Halshit gave up her artistic and creative integrity to be successful. She markets herself as this wildly extraordinary and alternative artist, yet she makes the most basic and bland music. Then she gets frustrated when her obvious attempts flop/fail. She’s just as much a mess…just in different aspects.

i totally understand where some of you come from regarding her health issues and insecurities, and you're totally right about this being a confidence issue – when it comes to live performing, it really narrows down to embodying the song and engaging with your audience. Hopefully, as her summer dates go by, she will regain her live strengths.

But please, bear in mind that the people attending her shows – and not just her fans – have spent a good amount of money to get into these festivals, and have given up other artists playing on other stages in order to see her perform. People can make mistakes, but if she keeps arriving late, not doing proper sound checks / not dealing correctly with her live setbacks, and getting her setlist cut short as a result, that, for me, is disrespectful. Im not saying at all that she's doing that on purpose or that she's just being lazy or ungrateful, but you have responsibilities as an artist, regardless of your background, your story, or even your fame.

Fans have accused the festival's organization several times for "kicking her out" of the stage, but please, be aware that they are just making sure the next artist gets their well-deserved time to prepare for their own set. That's how festivals work, they run on tight schedules: there are other attendees, other fans and other shows. They had that same morning for rehearsals and an hour before her set to make sure everything was fine and ready to go. Next in line in Barcelona was Angèle, which had constant fully choreographed songs and personalized lighting schemes: and that came from Angèle's team and it was their responsibility to deliver, not the festival's wishes.

And yes, you're right, she doesn't owe us anything: but her audience doesn't owe her anything either, and this can really harm her career in the long run.

Guys I wish Sky would be as big as Halsey. In an alternative universe she would sell milions of copies but she sadly remained underrated with a debut album for 10 years.

On the other hand, it's a pretty stan behavior to act like she was doing us a favor for releasing music and performing. She's literally doing a job she chose to. She's not doing charity work. She's releasing music/an albums as a product for us to consume and buy and perform to pay bills. Everything here is constructive criticism by fans who think she's doing a half assed work. When it comes to mental health, we have little info about her life and honestly I don't feel comfortable discussing about stuff she doesn't share. But still, there are mentally ill artists that still perform better than her and she's been performing the exact same way since 2013.

the way the mood of this topic always switches from "we love sky she's such a queen omg she can do no wrong she's the best popstar of all time" to "sky is so boring and messy and looks dead on stage and she should be ashamed of herself" in literally 2 minutes 😭

im sorry but there’s no way to excuse this. I was at the Barcelona show and it felt like an awkward school presentation. At the beggining everyone was screaming and cheering for her nonstop and she hardly acknowledged it, didn’t engage with her audience at all, and just looked annoyed, uncomfortable and mad.

I really love her music and artistry, but its totally understandable for people in the crowd who didnt know her much and were there out of curiosity to walk away. We can say whatever we want about her anxiety or stage fright problems, but at the end of the day she was just standing there awkwardly without nothing more going on, constantly giving death stares to the sound technicians and giving up on herself.

We were there just to have a good time and sing along with her, and everyone was so excited to hear for the first time “all my lovers die” among other songs (voices carry included!) but as soon as she finished, she said something like “well, that wasn’t good”, killing the whole vibe. Some fans immediately starting shouting “it was good!” “dont worry its ok we love you!” but c’mon…  it really got depressing and undewhelming.

Luckily for me and my friends, we spaniards do have some sense of humor - when it finished we just laughed it off saying how the show itself was kinda iconic and on-brand for her, that despite our low expections (yknow, we kinda knew what we where getting ourselves into) she still managed to surprise us with whatever she got going on, and how, after years of only seeing sky in very few, blurred and low quality pictures, we finally got to see her in ‘high res’ for like half an hour.

final thoughts - if it happens once, shame on the festival or the technicians. If happens twice or three times, shame on her for not stepping up and fixing her show’s issues. If it happens EVERY time… yeah……..

also, where tf is the music video?

okay i really don't care enough to be mad because i wasn't there to any of the festival dates, but i would love to know what the hell is happening with her. like i'm sure if she just addressed what's going on and explained people who like her enough would understand. but it's really hard to root for her with these strange displays of unprofessionalism, which only a minority of us were willing to excuse in the first place when they had to do with her not getting an uber to the studio (or whatever?)

first, she says the album she's been teasing since 2015 is not done.
then, a single drops way too late to gain any momentum without the video because she can't compromise her "vision" (???) and has to learn Final Cut/Premiere/sony vegas (lol) on the spot
then, a bunch of the wildly anticipated tour dates happen and all exhibit the same issues.

even without her chaotic (euphemism) background, damn. really hate to see it. but i also really think most of you guys take every single one of her missteps a little too personally. let's be stoics and accept whatever finds our way. that's the only way anyone can be in this for the long haul at this point

so I’ve been a sky fan since the beginning and I had never seen her live, so back in 2019 when she announced she was performing at Pitchfork fest I flew in to see her perform for the first time ever.

obviously it was very disappointing as we all know what happened (luckily Charli put on an amazing show and made up for it) but the way she got mad and walked off stage had me so sad because she her set list that she actually performed felt so random and she was visibly upset and annoyed with the sound issues the entire time.

seeing these last 2 shows, I feel way better about it knowing that it wasn’t just a one off performance that ended up like that but it makes me wonder why she even does festivals at this point

she obviously is very specific about her music as we know from her creative process and a major perfectionist. She cannot excel in a festival setting because of the limitations there are.

I don’t know why she doesn’t just stick to doing a club tour where she can have better control of the logistics to make sure the performance goes as planned

like what’s the point of even doing these festival shows anymore? It can’t be helping her with promo for people to see her do half a set while being annoyed before being kicked off stage mid set list

anyone else just adore this song?

the change from the darker vibe to major chords during the chorus is so beautiful especially at the end. the spirit of courtney love possessed her

it better not steal a spot from descending though

The way this whole era has just died on arrival. Had she dropped the song in early April things would be looking very different right now, but instead this was the most underwhelming release ever.

i adore don’t forget but i’m so disappointed that she dropped an audio video instead of a music video to reveal the song. the music video would’ve got way more attention and probably double the amount of views by now

Good evening, “Sky Ferreira” was a 12 year sociological study conducted by Harvard University. We are now complete with our study. Thank you for your time.

I think Descending should be the next single. Then I Pray for Rain, then Guardian, and then the album. It would be great.
