Sliding into the thread wondering if there's a masterpost of stuff cause it seems that there's been some stuff leaked/demos floating and I'd like to sample some before I preorder any album material please and thank you.

Hate is literally the weakest word in existence for my take on that album. And I say that as someone who was hyped for it. Waiting for it. Had popcorn and everything for the whole long-ass debut of the album-movie on YouTube.

After sitting through it, I suddenly understood why every single review and news article for it from that time kept mentioning the 6 mil price tag attached to it; they were trying to justify that it was good because of what it cost.

I have nothing constructive to say on that album. This comment is as civil as I can be. Everything else is a primordial surge of frustration and anger riding on the expectations I had of her on Crybaby.

I want this next album to recoup some of that energy I had for her and grow it into something warm and adoring again. Desperately wanting it.

ngl i grew to hate the visuals (maybe except for the album cover, that's okay) BUT the excitement for the album just keeps increasing  we need Ms. Tracklist to be revealed  

i'm actually surprised with how she consistently serves budget, especially when atlantic gives marina and charli like $2 for their music videos.

this was exactly me except with Michelle Pfeiffer; like i had known she was talented and i liked Head in the Wall, Knuckle Velvet, and Growing Pains. but when Michelle Pfeiffer came out i was like oh shit this girl is FOR REAL… and Crush proved that further for me… and Unpunishable proved that even further… and then by the time the entire Inbred EP came out i was hooked

Idc how basic that makes me but honestly American Teenager will forever be one of my fav songs ever, and I can truly say it made me stan partly because it's so different from the rest imho in a way. Hayden looking at me while she sang it just broke me. Barack and I have so much in common

when i listen to ethel's music the phrase "art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable" comes to mind. her music never made me feel uncomfortable (idk what that says about me) but ive seen a lot of my "pop girl stan" friends feel uncomfortable with her music at first but grow to love it

i love describing hayden’s music as cinematic because, like a movie, it’s not meant to always be particularly enjoyable or easy all the time—it’s supposed to make you feel something. you don’t say a horror film is bad because it scared you. i think anyone who completely throws the stuff that makes them uncomfortable aside is doing a great injustice to her artistry, while also proving that what she’s doing is effective
