Lana Del Dufrene liked a post in a topic by AphroditeBaby in What would you change about Lana's albums/eras?
For LFL, I wouldve just wanted a more concrete and less flexible concept and visual, it clearly changed a few times, which is why - as decently cohesive as the album is sonically, the first half seems much less important to me compared to what she said in interviews back in February to like May about the theme of the record. I would've had 3 more acoustic songs rather than Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, and In My Feelings. I think Cherry, WM, and 13 Beaches fit quite nicely on the record even if I'm not a huge fan of White Mustang.
I don't have a problem with a flexible concept in general, but I feel like what was originally talked around or alluded to seemed just a bit more interesting than what we got. And I could be totally wrong, some of this is just conjecture, but I def. think a more folksy-acoustic, 60s Shangri-Las, Joan Baez inspired record would've been more cohesive then some summery bops and then the remnants of that idea. I think Coachella's creation however was bound to happen, regardless of the leaks and push up of Love because she was inspired by an event she was certainly going to go to either way. If anything, maybe the production would've been different though. In the tracklisting, it fits very well where it does sonically, even though to me It just feels weird as a light-trap inspired groove instead of an acoustic/folky mid tempo.. Maybe the production was what would make the most sense on the record at that point? Again, total conjecture here. I don't mind if I'm wrong.

Okay this song is it now, sorry I clowned it earlier in the day Still hate the drums and production choices a bit, they sound very amateurish and I think the song has SO much potential lyrically/melodically - I kind of hope it gets remixed and mastered if it makes the album.

I feel like out of the three songs we got yesterday, WW was a real taste of what the rest of the album will delve into lyrically. The "here's the deal cause I know you wanna talk about it" part is so interesting, especially in coloration with the second verse and what people have been constantly saying about her romanticizing unhealthy relationships. There's definitely a lot more where WW came from, and I'm look forward to hearing it.

I agree regardless of whether this is intentional on Lana’s end or not. Many of the thoughts Lana hopes to challenge with this record (such as domestic abuse) could largely be attributed to an already unhealthy framework for relationships.
She seems to confront other accusations of glorifying aspects of mental illness and drug use as well. She happens to mention both of these in WW when she speaks of her hospitalization and “star drip IVs” after revealing her relationship with her mother.
Honestly, I’m incredibly surprised she’s been this open with the general public about it; it’s sad that she even feels obligated to share something that vulnerable in order to justify her artistic decisions, but I’m proud of her regardless

Text Book is IT yall.
BB is very surprising sonically, I love it.
Wildflower is okay but its production is seriously amateurish and sounds unfinished as heck, sorry.

Anthony is so predictable at this point lmao, his review will include something about how her early work was immature and a façade trying to gaslight the public into thinking she's someone she isn't then he'll bring up how the new album doesn't equate to the prestige sophistication of NFR but it's still a step in the right direction from the calamity that was her first 3 albums. he says the same thing every time

It’s amazing I can’t think of a stronger linear progression of an artist than Lana. With each release—especially since NFR!—she has really been all about becoming a whole lot more off beat, disregarding structure, less editing in lyrics, more honest and direct in themes and ideas. The songs require so many repeat listens to really grasp.
I was just listening to This Is What Makes Us Girls and Hope is a dangerous thing... back to back earlier this week and was like wow It went from cringe to legendary

Okay lyrically I actually kind of stan all of them, especially Wildflowers at least. They are very free and just chronicling kind of, so its kind of hard to guess what they are "about" just by listening one time but after reading them all...
