I have been thinking a lot about if I like the lyrics change or not but I think it was a good move. I think Jolene is one of the saddest, most desparate songs ever written and no cover comes close to Dolly's version. By changing the lyrics, Beyonce really made it her own and suitable to her image as a self confident woman, so I think that approach is 100% justified. The song develops an own life by her rework.

I did, but I never really got into it. Some nice tracks, but too disco for my taste 🙈 just not my genre.

Fully agree. I loved the slight country touch of lemonade, which is my favorite album by her, so naturally I go crazy for this one 😍 especially as a country and Dolly lover ❤️

"Tyrant" is such an iconic song. Honestly this is some of Beyoncé's best work

I do too, I’m glad she kept the blackbird cover very close to the original and subtle

everyone against the Jolene lyric changes but I’m kinda loving that too, I think Jolene’s been done to death so it was nice to have it mixed up a bit

absolutely pissed that the standard black vinyl is $10 cheaper on Amazon AND HAS FREE SHIPPING. (https://www.amazon.com/Cowboy-Carter-Black-Lp-Beyonce/dp/B0CZ9JQV1C/)

Since the Renaissance limited edition vinyl was actually limited, I immediately pre-ordered the non-cancelable "limited" Cowboy Carter vinyl on black vinyl - and paid $10 for shipping on top of that. Now it's on Amazon. The physical rollout for this album has been messy ngl.

I totally agree, they don't really compete as they are too different.

According to my research and to discogs black retailer and store exclusive black are the same, and all CDs just as well. Although the store exclusive vinyl might be translucent black and the retailer version not, but that's just from a discogs comment.

All vinyls seem to have 22 tracks only and Ya Ya is not included 🙄

i just saw on the reddit that items are not 100% cotton as advertised, as well as some other discrepancies  um

My jacket just got delivered (I can add some pictures later when I have more time) and I really like it!

It feels like nice quality, it's soft and fleecy on the inside and has a decent weight to it. I have the embroidered lust for life hoodie and it's a thicker material than that for comparison. It feels similar to the weight and thickness of the LDR Village hoodies

I got a large (I'm about 5'3) because I wanted it to be a little oversized and it definitely is lol I probably could have gone with a medium because it's very long on me, comes to about mid-thigh but I still think it looks really cute!

Also, if anyone is curious, there's a tag inside that says the jacket blank is from Independent Trading Company, so if anyone wants to look at the size chart, I'm pretty sure this is the blank they used for the jacket https://www.independenttradingco.com/products/mens-independent-heavyweight-zip-hooded-sweatshirt-ind4000z (size chart is under Specs and Printing notes)
omg the cami and bolero look so cute! I'm tempted to get it although I am worried about how it would feel being 100% polyester

oh I’m sorry I meant the “non-limited edition”. I’m guessing at some point there will be a vinyl that’s sold in stores like there was for Renaissance - probably not for a while since it seems it hasn’t been made yet - but when it is made I hope everything is on it

all the vinyl variants and cds on beyonce's store are labelled as "Cowboy Carter Limited Edition Exclusive Cover" so i'm wondering if it's going to differ from the standard version (with the digital cover im guessing) that will be sent out to other stores at a later date?

That's how I love merch most. It is the kind of stuff you can wear at work and only other fans will recognize it. Didn't get this only because it's cropped, lol. Love the bow, but I might just buy a similar looking one for 5 EUR and write LDR on it with nail lacquer or so. Just want it for my LDR decoration, not wanting to pay 24 EUR for it incl shipping plus probably 9 EUR extra VAT. 33 EUR is surely too much.

So apparently both CD and vinyl release of the album are missing songs from the digital ver tracklist? Hopefully the standard version with the horse cover will include everything 💀

Idk how people can even complain about this being too country. It’s bombastic, Americana, folk, and at times even wiTChY. It’s everything I want from a pop star going “country”

You all already know I ride hard for Etilegend, so I’ve purchased all three products he uses on Lana (free shipping!) Can’t wait to try them out!

I think it's quite cool that Lana's releasing a country record in the same year Beyonce and others are. Great to compare all of their inputs, different perspectives on the genre.

That said, Cowboy is going to be the benchmark for all others to aspire to.

It makes no sense to compare Lana and Beyoncé when they are completely different artists. Shut up and just enjoy the music.

I think it’s pure speculation since Renaissance. If the acts truly are Beyoncé’s attempt to “reclaim” black music genres (another speculation), I think that makes sense. Maybe it’d feel a bit cosplay-y and performative but I think she can pull it off, people criticized her for doing dancehall and embracing queerness in Renaissance but I think she pulled everything off perfectly.
