People who say I'm ruining the experience for myself. Let me tell you something... I listened to The Grants 100 times a week and still cried when it premiered on the radio

This album is the same to NFR/COCC/BB as LFL was to BTD/UV/HM (but better lol)

It's basically a summary of the greatest of her latest sounds and it's full of collabs and experiments. She's just having fun with her craft, this time she's just more aware of what she likes to do in the studio (with LFL i think she was a little bit lost yet) and isn't scared of critical reception.

Also, in my mind second half of LFL kinda was where she was going next - more personal and autobiographical lyrics, folky sounds. If we're lucky, second half of DYKTTATUOB is the sound she wants to experiment on more

at this point - we got 3 songs released officially and 2 songs in HQ, let's call that a win and wait for 8 more days to experience the full body of work as a whole, in HQ - no pressure, i know we can do it.
Stop desperately begging for leaks, that's what these attention-hungry motherfuckers want, they want to see us begging, wanting and give them attention to make them feel special because they have a sad, boring life. In fact, what they are doing is literally stealing Lana's work, messing the fuck out of them with them raggedy tags & ugly ass, unbearable ass audio edits - which is disgusting & disrespectful at this point.
You have the early access to the album? You either keep it to yourself or just leak everything in HQ / MQ / (or you can even cassette LQ à la NFR era) for once and begone. Why playing this cat & mouse game for clout? i just know everyone who's fallen for your shit gonna cursing the fuck out of you because you ruined the artist's craft & ruined the fans album experience. Ur not going to be an "iconic" character or shit, in fact, no one cares who tf you are, you dont even matter.
Honestly, ignore their ass for now, being annoying to get attention is all they want, we wont GIVE THEM THAT.
Only 8 more days till the album & by then, these bitches and their leaker/insider role or whatever the fuck they think they are in their wetdream dont even matter on this board no more since we had everything in our hands - legally.  and y'all bitches know we only trust people like @111 or BOZ, etc. Y'all just trolls 7 clowns

Side bar: @Kintsugi is THE person i respect in this era. They showed up, got into the point, said what needed to be said, answered all the Qs & smashed all the doubters, the nay-sayers WITHOUT spoiling & ruining Lana's work or annoyingly acting like a hotshot insider who's know everything for some reputation point as a kind of approval while they dont know shit. (yeah i did not let your ass slide @TheDollClub)

I hope these leakers have to sit in hell and listened to a tagged version of the audio from heaven for all eternity.

Great points all around. I definitely think critics will be less tepid this time (as compared to the reception Chemtrails and Blue Banisters got) because this album definitely feels bold, risky and passionate - it also seems to combine the maturity of her post-NFR work with the bite of her pre-NFR work which is a win-win situation because critics are now really fond of her and there’s been a willingness to reassess her entire discography with a fresh new look and recognize her greatness as something she’s displayed all along. So I think that bodes well for her ultimately.

The thing is: NFR was a wake-up call for a lot of people outside of the fandom to realize she was truly one of the best artists in the game and that realization came for an album that was seen and perceived as an instant modern classic: not confrontational or challenging enough to alienate audiences but with enough personality and uniqueness to set her apart from everyone else. That kind of sets the bar and the tone when it comes to people outside of the fandom so for an alternative artist like Lana who does little to no promotion, has no music videos for the era and is about to release her longest album to date, full of complex and really dense songs about heavy topics, I think it’ll take a lot of factors for her to get to a place where the basics of the recording academy to recognize her.

I really think this will be her most critically acclaimed album, surpassing NFR. I'm expecting 90+ on metacritic

I hope we’re wrong at the end! Even if I don’t take value in the Grammys as a barometer of quality these days, it would be awesome to see Lana  nominated for the big ones again to see her being vindicated. I hope all this love she’s being receiving from the likes of Eilish, Rodrigo, Rosalía, SZA, Kim Petras, Madison Beer, etc translates into goodwill and recognition. She’s truly the closest we have to Kate Bush/Tori Amos/Fiona Apple for the millennials and Gen-Zers.

The real issue isn't even AOTY, it's Lana getting moved out of Alternative categories every year. NFR was great, but a pop album it was not. It would have easily won in the Alt album category if they just let her (rightfully) be in there.

Agree. While this may challenge Norman as one of her best bodies of work, if not her best, I think that she took more risks on this album whereas Norman was definitely more of an "instant classic" kind of record. However if the acclaim is there perhaps they'll have no choice but to nominate it.

I feel like if they haven’t acknowledged her at this point, it is unlikely they ever will, bar her releasing another Video Games sized classic, which even then will require luck at it going truly viral given how she wants to avoid conventional large-scale promotion. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I can’t really see that happening, least of all with the market constantly evolving and atomising into different demographics.

I highly doubt this album will be nominated for AOTY at the Grammys - she’d need a widespread acclaim and support like she got for Norman and although she’s in a good position to achieve that, we also know Ocean is far more abrasive and challenging as a record than NFR was (no shade to Norman, that’s still one of my favorite albums ever) and I’m afraid some critics won’t fully support the album even if they moderately respect/appreciate it. I’m trying to stay positive but I really feel like NFR was her Grammys moment and I don’t see that replicating that easily (which is probably a good thing for her because fuck the Scammies).
