What were the best singles of the past year?
 
 
 
I've created a list that takes into account both streaming numbers from Spotify and user ratings from albumoftheyear.org (the number of ratings also played a role). I tried to include as much of the best rated singles (with a rating of 80 or higher) as possible, also from the year end lists and the most streamed songs. Again I was very strict and excluded all songs marked as 'explicit' (A&W unfortunately too) and certain genres (such as hip-hop, rap and metal), also songs that I generally did't like (there were only a few).
Here are the first 30 single songs of my list:

Hmmm  Still convinced that she's been sober for 20 years, idk why. Perhaps it was too personal question for her to talk about it again, idk. In the "My Bedroom" poem she talked how she hasn't been drunk for 14 years though. Idk, I don't wanna touch that topic anymore, feels already too personal for me discussing about another person's sobriety.
 
Well whatever the 20 years could mean to her. The events in White Dress may have happened 20 years ago too if she was 19 then. (She became 19 in 2004 but the events also could've happened in early 2005).

I know a lot of people hate religion but I really think this song is about Jesus (her bestest friend). At least partly. Hear me out.
 
"Gargoyles standing in front of your gate" 
Gargoyles originated as something that were put on churches and cathedrals in the Middle Ages.They were meant to inspire fear in churchgoers, and were also said to ward off demons and evil spirits. Look at any Catholic church even now and you'll see always gargoyles outside of them. 
 
"I can't wait to see you, so I run like I'm mad to heaven's door"
The church is "heaven's door." It's commonly called a "thin place" where the boundary between the mortal realm and heaven is thin and God can be felt more easily. 
 
She mentions roses and in Christian symbolism red roses symbolize the blood Jesus shed on the cross. 
 
"You've got a flair for the violentest kind of love anywhere out there"
Jesus showed how much he loved the world by allowing himself to be brutally tortured and killed.
 
"Sweet child of mine, you're divine." 
He's Mary's child. Also God's. Literally a divine being. 
 
"Don't be afraid of me, don't be ashamed. Walk in the way of my soft resurrection." 
I think this is actually Lana singing from Jesus PoV. The first thing he says after he is resurrected from the dead is "Don't be afraid." and he actually says it several other times in the bible. He's asking Lana to not be ashamed of him and how she feels about him and to walk in the way of his crucifixion and resurrection. 
 
I had this idea while listening the other day. Would explain why the instrumental is so "heavenly" sounding too. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Is it really "can you fade inside of mine"?
 
I've always heard "can you face this heart of mine" but idk. What does "fade inside of mine" even mean. Like it doesn't make sense?
 
Also does she not say something in the chorus after "take me there" but before "I've been waiting to meet you"? It sounds like "late at night" or "me alive". Idk there's definitely something there.

I have absolutely no desire to deal with the craziness of Coachella but I know this would be such an amazing performance  I really need to do some thinking if so

Would maybe be a cute little interlude/interpolation in her set but there are much worthier songs in her discography 

Lana Del Rey will be headlining Coachella - Weekend 1 in Indio, California on April 12th & 19th, 2024.
She last performed at the festival in 2014, and was meant to perform at their 2020 edition before it was ultimately cancelled due to COVID-19. She will also headline Weekend 2.

Coquette TikTok girlies gonna be obsessed with her new photos she posted  and imo they're very beautiful posts, love the mirror shot, the baby blue Chanel bag, her gramma's art casting thingy, the cowboy boots and stack of boxes of handmade things. She got really amazing presents and I think she lools absolutely stunning, as always!
I'm 99.9% sure that she's gonna attend st the Grammy Awards gala with cowboy boots, like I can literally feel it in my bones and envision it!
