Another day of nothing happening with my Candy Necklace order from Canada
About to just buy one from a scalper on ebay, it would about be the same price anyway with how much the Canadian store's shipping is

This is probably my favourite piece in all of Lana's poetry work. It's really emotional and hard hitting, especially if you're familiar with Sylvia Plath. I went to visit Sylvia Plath's grave recently and did a deep-dive into her poetry, came back home, read this (and reflected on some other references in Lana's work) and then broke down crying

She was just 24 when she sang this live. It's a beautiful (sad) folksong. Her voice just gives me tingles here.
It's a song she wrote for her sister Mimi and Mimi's husband, telling their love story. It's written so beautifully that it makes me cry and believe in true love again.
A modern folk song that became a huge hit in the U.K. (in the 60s) My Mum used to play it a lot and she would use the expression "There but for fortune go I" in reference to all the injustices in the world
Her most famous song, but it really is worth mentioning for a reason. This was written by her, not a folk song. Lana sung it in a duet with Joan. I think she also referenced the song in Blue Banisters, when she said "Except that one thing, the diamonds, the rust, and the rain."

Based on this here are all the people she's competing with:
Did You Know That There’s A Tunner Under Ocean Blvd? – AOTY (there are 82 submissions lol I listed only the most famoust artists)
Did You Know That There’s A Tunner Under Ocean Blvd? – Alternative Album
“A&W” – ROTY, SOTY (over 150 submission for each of these, basically all artists listed, sorry gonna skip this one )
“A&W” – Alternative Music Performance
“Did You Know That There’s A Tunner Under Ocean Blvd?” — Pop Solo Performance (over 50 submissions so I just wrote the famous ones)
Candy Necklace – Music Video (117 submissions, gonna skip this one too, but again, it's almost the same artists and songs listed before)
Candy Necklace – Pop Duo/Group Performance
Life Lessons - Pop Duo/Group Performance
btw a reminder that being famous doesn't mean having a higher chance, quite often the Grammys nominate people who you've never heard of (who might not even be on this list lol)

The Sun Also Rises liked a post in a topic by paradisetropico in Emile Haynie discusses the beginning of working with LANA at the Chateau and Interscope
Emile Haynie spoke on the Podcast "How Long Gone" about Lana Del Rey and the beginnings of her career.
He mentioned that when he met her pre Born to Die, she had a MacBook she kept in her bag with her everywhere she went, with the video games music video on iMovie and was almost shy and nervous to even show it to people.
He also mentioned that Lana was not signed to anyone when they met, she was all on her own, trying to get people to see her vision...but for a long time no one did.
He also mentioned the studio he made at the Chateau Marmont, working with Father John Misty and Lady Gaga on an album.
He said more but you should check it out for yourself.

either she finally gets a grammy cause she's under the alt category (was about time)
or the academy has such a big ego they'd rather give those wins to other artists like mitski because..... why wouldn't they snob lana yet another time.
and if they end up doing this, it'd would be final confirmation that she's never getting any
i'm expecting the worst personally but i hope i'm wrong please prove me wrong

I have heard nothing from the Canadian store. With the explicit vinyl, which I also ordered from Canada, I didn't have any tracking or anything (I ordered from the U.K.) and the postman just turned up one day with it. Not very reassuring I know
