audreysdance liked a post in a topic by paradisetropico in Blake Lee, Lana Del Rey's guitarist and music director, spoke about his first time meeting Lana in an interview for the release of his debut album
Blake Lee has a LENGTHY interview and in one small part (30 minute mark) he speaks about his time working on Ultraviolence and his first time meeting Lana!
Blake says he first met Lana and he was simply himself, no expectations. Byron helped him get the audition.
He says the First show they played together was secret and under an alias name in NYC.
He says working with Lana is "spontaneous, electric, thrilling" and he remembered looking up Video Games for the first time and his mother overheard and they both fell in love with the sound of the song and the video. and he knew he wanted to be part of her band.
Blake says he is blown away with how fast she writes songs and it is unlike anyone else he has worked with.
He says he has no idea how many songs she has written BUT Ultraviolence was originally a double album (40 songs were written for Ultraviolence that he remembers and said they were all worthy of being on the album. He said a few of the interludes that didn't make the album have been worked into some of the live shows they do)
Blake says he respects her so much and calls her "the real deal" and admires her ethos of "not trying hard or pretending to be something, and just saying NO when you don't want to do something or if something does not feel right knowing to say no, and then eventually the right thing will come along "
says it was Lana's idea to get Chriss Isaak to perform at the Hollywood Bowl,
Spoke about Sean Lennon and how magical it was

his new album is a dreamy, cinematic, avant-garde album and quite mesmerizing.

Reading some of the precedent pages and - some of you seriously need to go out and breath some fresh air. I don't wanna sound rude, but all this talking about him, some wishing them the divorce or saying it's "destined to end" bringing up examples of other couples is simply SICK.
It's her own fucking life, she knows what she's doing. Not everything is black and white, remember that we know very few of him AND of them as a couple.
Then, she married this man thinking about HER happiness, not her fans'. There was a reason if she wanted to keep this private...she's surely aware that her actions have an impact on those who follows her but maybe she suppose that most of us use our brain cells.
Also, for those worrying that listening to her will make him rich...she most likely made a pre-marriage contract, she's not stupid. Her family and managers 100% adviced her to keep her money safe, in case anything might go wrong.
Assumptions like this are so childish and stupid. I'm sorry because I don't wanna sound rude but some things that I read here made me really angry.
Just remembered to separate the ART from the ARTIST. Just listen to the music if you don't agree with her decisions or opinions, but let her live her happiness now.

If COVID hadn't happened, my own life would be much better, because I lost a great job here in NYC, which was devastated by the pandemic in 100 ways. And the wolf was right at my door: though there are only 9 apartments on my floor, two men in other apartments died of COVID, and an older friend whom I had known also died of it, very suddenly. COVID destroyed so much and so many. The government's fumbling and junk science didn't help.
BUT if there was no COVID, we wouldn't have Violets For Roses, one of my all-time favorite Lana tracks. And Black Bathing Suit might not exist either, or might in a different form.
I'm glad Lana responded to COVID in her own way and didn't ignore it.

And before Elon bought twitter, it was owned by the extreme left and it was some 1984 shit at that time, too. I caught a ban once for saying “I hope both teams in the Super Bowl get diarrhea” as a joke lol. 2020 (Covid era) was especially annoying with the lack of free speech on that platform, when people were sharing legitimate harm caused by vaccines. I don’t use twitter anymore, even though imo it has gotten better since Elon stepped in (now they are finally cracking down on child pornography, before he took over it took lawsuits to get the stuff taken down.)

I could imagine that she chose Jeremy mainly because he's a very experienced father. The marriage was also very quick, so she may have certain plans...

People need to STOP associating her to supporting Trump.
If her husband, and I repeat, her husband, supports him then that's his own problem and only his. She has openly talked about how she hates Trump back in the LFL days, she even did witchcraft during the election time. Some here says that now she's "radio silence". That's a right of hers, she's not obligated to openly say something each election year. And now that she's married to Jeremy, if he's a Trump supporter, it's her right to not say anything online.
If you guys are judging her by this, then I guess now it's the time when we see who are the REAL fans and who are the ones who only think she's nice when she says what they like to hear.
Sorry guys, but the world doesn't work like that and that's perfectly fine. I don't have a single problem with her if she doesn't want to say something in public about politics and you should be the same.
Also remember: we don't choose who we'll fall in love, the heart has it's things

i don't get those that are happy about her not getting that nomination..I mean yeah maybe it didn't "deserve" to win but at least nominated, she did deserve it.

I'm so speechless...but a thought recurred in my mind: something similar happened in my country, two years ago. The now president is a woman but she's still accused of similar things as Trump.
We were all shocked when she was voted..but the point is, in my opinion, that we should try to understand what brings so many people on this side, what bring them to vote, to need a certain kind of president instead of another.
I mean, I don't think it can all be reduced to "dumbness" or stupidity. What are the reasons, what brought people to vote for him?
I think that after this will be cleared, getting better and better will be easier in the years to come. There's still so much hope to hold on.

Folks, i know the situation looks horrendous but Trump supporters will be eating our tears for breakfast and just laughing at our despair. Now more than ever we should be hopeful for the future, rather than giving up
We should calm down unless we all want to end up in cringe compilations

I don't really have the luxury or privilege of being upset like, I'm used to being unheard anyway when it comes to things so in that sense I"m used to it whatever. You learn to work and live around it. But I'm already kinda over it. no emotional charge, did my duty.
I'm watching diff livestreams to be objective and try to be fair and I'm seeing media outlets sorta just guffawed. economy's awful, middle class is thinning out. divided parties and not so shiny choices. I had a feeling that this power vacuum was gonna have to be filled, and I know from being working class from diff types of peers alike from all sorts of views that moreso that even democrats have been straying from the party. and we're a blue state.
It'd be foolish to think that people in your circle are the only ones so I try to be more bigger view perspective on these things so unfortunately, I can't really say I'm surprised that this happened. Everyone's tired it seems.
I'm not sad, well kinda, I'm not angry. emotions don't matter you just have to focus on the things you can still do. for what it's worth, I'm sorry for the ones that don't feel as safe because of this. I hope you find community and protection. I know that a lot of you might feel discouraged, but. There are still other ways to hopefully make things ok and progress our lives to be better. <3

I don't have a horse in the race, I'm not American. But my two cents: Democrats just didn't do all that well. The inflation is super high (it hit 9.1% in June 202, a 40 year high, as opposed to Trump's 1.9% average), the buying power is low, the median age of homebuyers is like 38 (!) - an all time high, huge chunks of tax-payers' money are spent on funding genocides, as opposed to medical care, Kamala is very much in the "I support Israel no matter what" camp, which is just vomit-inducing....
I'm not a Trump supporter at all - he's probably worse in a lot of ways - but I kinda knew this was going to happen.
I don't think paying celebrities like Beyonce to endorse you was a particularly smart move either. Like, your game-plan should be solid enough; why would I endorse you just because you have Lady Gaga and Maya Rudolph performing for you like monkeys? Not to mention that they've kept a president with barely a working cognitive function. I mean, Biden rode that train until he wasn't able to speak, literally.
The whole thing is bizarre, and America needs some fresh candidates, tbh.

Idk who will win but I do care since US politics does affect a lot Europe's politics.
I think both Harris and Trump are both clowns in their own ways, if I was American idk who to vote honestly.
What seriously worries me is that there are literal people who will vote for Harris ONLY because she supports abortion (at any stage...), not caring about other issues, or there are some who will vote for her just because a childless cat lady said she's going to support her.
It's the same with trump, there are always those brain-dead who vote for anyone for DUMB reasons, and that's worrying but yeah it's like that in every country at the end, sadly.
