i have a feeling that stand by your man cover is recorded and it's on this album.
her covering it on ocean blvd tour in 2023 seems kinda the same lane as her covering for free on nfr tour and putting on cotcc.

Now why did I have a dream about seeing Lana at a concert and she had this thick southerner accent
BUT
She released “Behind the Iron Gates…” that night…in my dreams

I often see people saying it bothers them that Lana made the closing lyric “No one’s going anywhere” as opposed to “No one’s going to disappear,” but I’ve always disagreed with that thought. I personally feel that the song would sound too neat and predictable that way. The lyric change seems more raw and authentic, which I find much more interesting.

Cracked the code of this song after @@Nick Del Rey reminded me of a puzzle piece I was missing. So, Lana stated in her livestream she wrote this song after "getting back to New York from Boston" after being "fucked up in Boston"
Nick reminded me there was a rumour of Lana going to Boston to watch her boyfriend who was coaching, which lined up during the same time period as I noticed she was in Rhode Island on October 3rd & New York October 5th with Jack, same day she shares first snippet of HTD along with video captioned "pre-recording dance"
The rumour seemed to originate from a girl who worked at a store Lana was shopping at while in Rhode Island.
Rhode Island - Oct 3 (traveling there)
Boston - Oct 4 (meltdown happened w this guy)
New York - Oct 5 (wrote HTD)
The man in question seems to be this boxer named Joe Schilling, who a bunch of fans attacked on instagram by commenting rats under his instagram posts on October 21st after he dragged her music, and Lana had to tell her fans to back off. That makes perfect sense given the lyrics: "Joe met me down at the training yard, with cuts on his face 'cause he fought too hard" (which would make sense bc he's a boxer) October 5th: "At the Red Sox vs Yankee play off game at Fenway Park tonight. We’ll be wishing a mother fcker would." (Fenway Park is in Boston, and Lana was there to watch him train the day before... y'know, down at the training yard) whew that man really hurt her x -

Lana was in an apparent sadness slump when she "got back to New York from Boston" after being "fucked up in Boston" and wrote most of the lyrics for How to Disappear during that time. Cinnamon Girl was also written around that time.
I'm estimating she wrote the song at the beginning of October, as that's the only evidence I found of her being in New York - she attended Jack's show in New York October 5th, the same day she shared the first snippet of How to Disappear when it was still a stripped-back piano track along with a now-deleted video of her dancing to CamelPhat & Elderbook's 'Cola' captioned "pre-recording dance." Also, she was in Rhode Island on October 3rd, which could've been a stop during her Boston/New York travels. Then, Lana live-streamed Jack working on HTD on October 27th, with the first performance of the song being at the Apple event on October 30th. First Cinnamon Girl snippet was shared October 12th (my birthday!) x

I feel that line is just her using having a kid as another way of saying she has roots now. Her older music was all about escaping, being nomadic, young and free. The kid (representing her music/fans/career) and two cats in the yard (an established home in California) are her saying she's finally settled down, after all this time.

"you're in the yard, i light the fire" from Venice Bitch is also probably referencing CSNY's Our House.
"I'll light the fire, you put the flowers
In the vase that you bought today
Staring at the fire for hours and hours while I listen to you
Play your love songs all night long for me, only for me"
She's been talking about capturing a "Laurel Canyon" vibe for years... and referencing CSNY is certainly a way of doing that.

I can’t get over her performance of HtD at the Apple Keynote. Seriously so beautiful and heartbreaking. One of my favorite lives for sure.
I really love the theme of her being a pillar of support that’s present in the last bit of HtD and MAC
“I’m always going to be right here.”
“Don’t look too far, right where you are
That’s where I am. I’m your man.”
I feel the same intention and earnesty that’s present in Video Games

Yes it's def the beer / VG line but also "cry on his shoulder cuz life is hard" literally screams BTD for me idk. Very Gangsta Sinatra. The way the story is told is also very Carmen like. It's like she took lyrical themes from her 2010 unreleased and mixed it with a LFL type instrumental.
BTD / LFL most ambitious crossover in history. Stans could not believe it

In the grand scheme of things I don’t think this album rollout has even really started. We’ve only gotten teasers for stuff. I think what is really throwing us off is the radio silence on Instagram. Typically we’ll wait for her music but in between she’ll post pics of unrelated stuff so it feels like we’re getting content but we’re just getting social media presence. Since she’s not active at all it just feels dry as hell

Strong agree like I would still eat up a country/folk album if it was really well-produced and thought-out, but this weird drawn-out pre-release is making me doubt that it would be... I want her to just like cook up something fun
