"Doing something against her will" ... apologize for false release announcements, not use private iphone pics for album art and not leave us in the dark forever. It's not like that's a lot. If she would have a regular, professional release-schedule instead of always putting on such a huge mess, she would not even necessarily have to do much. But nah, it's always a drag, always a waiting game, always so much disappointment.
People love to compare her lacking release-eras to Fiona Apple (lol) but - once Fiona announces something, there is a reliable release schedule, without any of this bs happening. And she's not someone who's loving the spotlight either.

girl that “music video” is a stain on Lana’s career. The fact that the same woman who made the Video Games MV made this........ is truly evidence that Satan is real.

while i agree it's ambiguous who's referred to as a baby, 'let me be who i'm meant to be' clearly implies who she's meant to be is defined in relationship to a man, which i find to be debatable, were the relationship symmetrical (which i don't think it is)

I've thought about that too but her outlook on womanhood (more present in her earlier work, but still there in songs like 'love song' for example) and the number of times she refers to herself as her boyfriend's baby (and not just saying 'baby', rather saying 'I'm your baby', 'just like a baby, spin me round like a child', 'the way you'd play with me like a child', 'i was so confused as a little child' and stuff like that) makes me think she's referring to herself as a baby in that lyric, to holding him the way a baby would hold a grown-up. But I might be wrong, and it's open to interpretation anyway

I know Dark But Just A Game is about a recent Madonna party, but I will apply it to that period in her career where she was the wedding singer to the stars

    No one asked. Log off.
On another note, I definitely think that the frock will be released on March 19. She released the DT mv the day NFR dropped. Interscope probably think it's a good move to have something visual to release the day of her album releases.

Facts it’s has to be one of her most boring songs. I’m let me bore you like a woman hater and I’m at peace with that.

I agree that the elements that the lyrics contain add up to a pleasant, sweet, nostalgic atmosphere. and for that reason, I don't think they're bad lyrics, i think they're average Lana lyrics. however, the reasons why i feel they're not as good as those for many other songs are that first, they don't have lines that I'd call beautiful in the sense that 'but i love that man, like nobody can, he moves mountains and pounds them to ground again' is. individually considered, all of its lines are very simple, and that's something that makes the lyrics weaker, to me, than those of HTD, where the global atmosphere is there too, but the lyrics individually considered are excellent. i also think a lot of those elements are reused from other songs ('nothing gold can stay', 'ice cream', being American, being stronger, being insane and beautiful, getting high, diamonds, Norman Rockwell...) to the point where it feels a bit forced to me. and finally, I know that's a controversial take, but for social and political reasons, I'm not a fan of calling oneself a bitch, or depicting oneself in an object-type position for men (which 'i'm sweet for you', 'it's me your little venice bitch', 'you write' and only THEN 'i tour' imply, in my opinion).
but then again, I know they're far from being her worst lyrics

once again, I'm not saying the lyrics to VB are bad, I'm saying that in my opinion, which you don't seem to give a lot of credit to - implying im just not at the point where i can understand what you understand - they're not as good as those for the better half of the songs on NFR. and the lyrics to bartender, california, hope, fuck it i love you, how to disappear aren't that melodramatic either. and i JUST said i expected more from white dress, for the reasons that i gave, but maybe that was, indeed, setting myself up for disappointment. let's agree to disagree though!

Nothing I hate more than when she drops a random fuck bomb or "bitch" for no reason. Cursing doesn't equate to being personal

I feel like the chorus and bridge are her most lifeless lyrics to date, they are so devoid of meaning and just there to sound fancy

People are allowed to discuss Norman when discussing COCC, both are Lana albums at the end of the day and my comment was a comparison. You can block me btw

The way I never go back to listen to LFL or NFR has me worried that COCC will be the same. I always go back to listen to BTD, UV and HM but I swear it's been almost more than a year since I listened to any song from NFR

Praying for replay value with this album

all this talk about narcissism as the biggest problem in america... only for Joan Baez to call Lana a gorgeous narcissist

I definitely agree that Lana and Rick were probably very comfortable with each other, maybe too comfortable from an artistic creation perspective. But let's not pretend like Jack challenged Lana and pushed her to creative highs. That would be Dan Auerbach. Multiple articles and interviews were written about the creative process around 'Ultraviolence'. They all mentioned that they had a tumultuous relationship while making this album, they apparently fought a lot over certain artistic decisions, but also (if I recall correctly) when Lana heard back from Interscope and they told her they didn't like the album, Dan was ready to jump and defend this project peck and nails. Whereas Lana was ready to let it go (until Paul Epworth chimed in and said he loved the album,  then these same execs started eating shit... well that's a story from another day). But in the end, they said they danced to the music in the studio, and we got 'Ultraviolence'–that speaks for itself I think.

Anyway, from what we know, and this is straight from the horse's mouth, she and Jack just chill in the studio, which is fine, like there is nothing wrong with getting along peacefully. I just take a lot of issues with the way 'NFR!' sounds, and I think a lot of them stem from how this album was conceived from a production/mastering standpoint. I attribute a lot of that to artistic laziness. That might be a controversial opinion, oh well.

After 'Chemtrails' I honestly hope Lana partners with a completely new and different producer, I think it's time for her to really get out of her comfort zone and meet someone from a different place in this industry. I really want to hear something more boundary pushing than what we heard on 'NFR!', but also what's been released thus far from 'Chemtrails', which sonically speaking, while better in certain regards imho, isn't all that different from the last record. Weirdly enough, I find certain tracks on 'Violet' to be much more interesting sonically than what they have done together on an actual album.
