This is the next beats by dr. dre, over-hyped crap with a shiny logo (in this case, Masonry tiles).  Just as people are now noticing that Apple, beats, Nike, etc are just a name brand, where everything is made in Asian countries for less than $40, they quickly are with this new product.
 
You want a real music experience? Buy the physical version and go to concerts.

The only people really hyped about this/into the idea are like... the heavyweight artists investing in it, lmao. The video of them talking about how this will start a revolution or whatever was so cringeworthy.

this is honestly so dumb, if it was released 10 years ago it would be savvy + new but its so pointless when you can stream for free via spotify and download tracks (albeit illegally) via the internet in 1 second.
 
also the whole #TidalForAll stuff is bullshit bc I don't know anyone who will have £20 spare to spend on streaming "exclusive" HQ music, so I think it's created complete exclusivity. plus, I can understand doing it for artists who are relatively small-ish (ie Marina) bc it gets them extra $$$ but really? Beyoncé? Jay-Z? Madonna? don't you guys already have fat paychecks with lots of 0000000? (off topic but where were all these black celebs at Tidal during Blackout month + #BlackLivesMatter hmmmmmmmmm? but that's another situation)

Concerts are quite expensive too, but that's understandable because you're there with the actual artist performing, not listening to an audio file omg
Just torrent it or buy the album itself when it goes on Target at like 5 dollars

Like, 20 dollars a month? That's like 280 mexican pesos a month, then if it's 20 dollars a month it would be 240 dollars per year, which is 3,360 mexican pesos per year just for music? wtf why are you all excited for this, this is horrible, with that money i buy like, an entire closet of clothes

It was a bummer. I was disappointed but after not meeting her 4 shows in a row you get used to it lol. I waited front row since 11-6:30 which is not that bad tbh compared to last time... 6AM-7PM lol.
The thing is, Lana was performing before Eminem, so a lot of the front row at least on my side, were Eminem fans who could care less about Lana. Which explains why I was not shoved at all which was cool lol. 
I tried to find her hotel but I didn't know which one it was (there's a few good ones in Austin)...so yeah idk about that.
 
Also I found that strange too. I think her manager told her not to meet fans during NA because he came on and talked to her for a brief moment towards the end of the set.

It occurred to me that Lana, as a woman, is also taking quite an interesting approach to creating a kind of iconic (and iconoclastic) image in her performances.

She's absorbed in her music, but she's also standing in that no man's land between artists and audience, and has given her hand to the people in the front row. The perspective of the photo also gives the feeling that she's 'lowered herself' to meet her minions, but her gesture of offering her hand without reservation is also an act of placing her fans on her level.
 
Compare with two other semi-religious rock images, both showing men whose idea of 'godlike' is in their aloofness.
 
Nick Cave crouches above the audience, while they reach out their hands unable to touch him, and his hand is also outstretched but is making no effort to actually make contact.

While Iggy is in physical danger, and he's making direct contact with the audience, he's still mostly using them as a prop, and foot-to-hand contact has very different connotations to hand-to-hand.

i have a feeling this is gonna flop because it seems to be some hybrid between spotify and vevo. i don't know if someone would pay 10 dollars for this especially since a lot of people who pay for streaming services probably already have a spotify premium account..
