This might be a really depressing outlook on the music industry but I just feel like there was a feistiness in previous decades that just isn’t present anymore, since like 2015  

maroon 5 is definitely a pop group, if not always, they most certainly are now

Pure pop does exist-its a genre in itself-I’m sick of hearing the same tired rhetoric that pop means “popular”, no it doesn’t necessarily. 
 
The Beatles have always been included in pop because they make pop rock mostly.  Rock has always been called rock.
 
I just heard someone try to argue teenage dream is electro rock  I don’t like Katy but she is clearly pure pop.
 
Baby one more time is pure pop.
Thriller is pure pop.
S&m is pure pop.
Call me maybe is pure pop- a guitar does not mean “rock”.
 

Exactly. Also the majority of active bands release some dark music in a warehouse with leather jackets and it's so obvious that it's safe music for fans only. Totally uncreative and underwhelming. I miss party songs and rockstars. Maneskin is the only band that resembles rock and rockstars in its prime although I'm not their biggest fan. 

There hasn’t been a big evolution in awhile aside from the emo rap movement a few years ago and even that was more of an offshoot genre mix.
Somebody needs to push a innovative style+ mixed with aesthetic 

I always get annoyed when someone complains about rock being dead and some smart ass telling that are still good underground bands/artists. Yeah we know, that goes for every genre, people are complaining about rock not having cultural significance anymore, not being anywhere in top 40, and frontliners on festivals being usually 20+ year old bands. 

I kind of agree like i used to be a much bigger fan of Marina, which makes me sad to admit because I want to love her new stuff too 
 
But imo Love + Fear and ADIAML just aren't as good as TFJ, EH, and Froot...like I don't really get what she's trying to do with her image now, but I miss when her lyrics about misogyny/sexism were more clever and not so straightforward 
 
Idk its not like her new stuff is bad or anything but I listened to L+F and ADIAML for a month or so after they came out and I haven't listened to them since then....although to be fair, I haven't listened to anything but Lana for a while now so.... 
 
 

i just think it’s so weird how she tried to change her image after Electra Heart- the infinitely iconic look & album that catapulted her to being a star, and then again tried to change it to be more “mature”(?) by dropping “and the Diamonds” from her state name and trying to write “mature” music e.g political, feminist, etc but failed miserably for the most part because the vast amount of her output since Froot has been beyond mediocre imo
And now she’s doing a Lana Del Rey and trying to get into poetry ?¿ and it’s just not good

Her poem doesn't look THAT bad if she would type it like this tho
Can't say I love it, but this way it's a) way easier to read and understand and b) it makes the poem seem better than it is

Usually I hate it when artists say they're gonna release something and then do not but in this case she should do herself a favour and say the file was corrupted

Last time I didn't do that I had to sacrifice my sneakers #2 so my new Levi's and Honeymoon album and Lana's book of poems could return home. 

I'm seriously getting fed up with collecting but I still somehow have the will to do it. Prices were always much higher in my country (35€+ for a 1LP basic ass album ) so I? always turned to online shopping unless it was second hand. There was f,s this German site that had cheap vinyl and cheap shipping, thank God I got Ultraviolence deluxe version there but since prices got up, the shipping got 5x more expensive. Now Ebay is the only place I shop and when I travel to an EU country since everything there is 30% cheaper. I always bring a half empty suitcase just in case.
