Can't believe it's been one month of VB. Every listen feels like the first one, the emotion is still present. Thinking of Lizzie writing Fordham Road in NYC and now a decade later this. Believe in your dreams

Started these the other day so thought I may as well finish them

I found a few Rockwell paintings where he uses a circle of colour in the background so thought it would work pretty nice

honestly one of the most "fun" things to do the last few eras is sacrafice your sleep schedule to see if lana decides to do some crack and post a random ass snippet of a song from 10-2am only for her to delete it 16hrs later

are you gonna be the first on here to document the lyrics?

is it gonna be a new song? an old one?

is it gonna be in her ford fiesta? or the back of an uber?

is the song gonna just be fucking scrapped? or will we hear the entire thing in 2 separate snippets cause it's actually that boring on release?

    who ever knows

    not her

Probably random choice, but the way Sebastien Micke did Lana's photoshoot for Paris Match is almost exactly the way I want this album cover to look like. I didn't think I was familiar with Norman Rockwell's work, until I looked it up and it has alot of similarities to what Lana goes for in her music, which has to do a lot with Americana but he also made paintings that has to do with social issues as well. His work is iconic and I love how it captures a lot of movement. His subjects aren't always looking perfect, but you get a clear story/message from it. They're also not posed in an inauthentic way so it always looks refreshing and heartwarming.

So anyway- the album cover could include Lana and a man (which refers to this guy she was thinking about who's really talented but won't shut up about it lmao) whose face is turned away or covered. And the whole image could be framed like the LFL cover so it can look like a painting/look less messy with the text... Or not, I can't decide on that lol

This was way faster than I expected, they’re both very good looking people and even though I am usually not interested in the monarchy / royal family, their wedding was beautiful to watch and I even shed a tear seeing Meghan be so happy!

While Lana Del Ray (commonly known as AKA) wasn’t Lana’s first studio album -- that honor goes to Sirens -- it was her debut on a record label, and her first album to be sold commercially. AKA’s history was turbulent, which probably owes to much of the mystery and misinformation that surrounds the album today:

As noted above, the formation of AKA brought about many demos and outtakes that didn’t make the final cut, including Lizzy’s collaborations with producer Steven Mertens. Below is a helpful guide to the AKA demos, along with information on unused tracks recorded with both Mertens and David Kahne:

Lana’s promotion of her music during the AKA era included interviews, frequent live performances, and perhaps most distinctively, the creation of self-assembled music videos for most of the tracks on the album, much like the “Video Games” visuals that would propel her to stardom in 2011. Below are a selection of these videos, plus relevant fan creations:

Lastly, here are some helpful links for further info and exploration of AKA:

I've just read an interview of her from 2011 that gives info of how it was working with David Kahne.

“How was it working with David Kahne [The Strokes, Regina Spector, Paul McCartney] on your debut? He has a background in replicating bygone eras.

LDR: It was validating when David asked to work with me, only a day after he got my demo. He has known as a producer with a lot integrity and who had an interest in making music that wasn't just pop.

In terms of instruction, what was Kahne's input?

LDR: He had a lot of things he wanted done. For example, he was interested in a more traditional vocal style and I wasn't. He's also a real scientist, so he had a very particular plan. The album ended up somewhere in between what he wanted and what I wanted." - Interview by The Quietus, October 4th, 2011

    Also this

"In an interview with Pitchfork you said that people have offered you opportunities in exchange for sleeping with them. Is this true? At the corporate level?

    LDR: [Laughs, then becomes tongue-tied]

I mean... uh... uh... I mean things get a little crazy, I guess.

Um... There are some situations when you kind of know.

    ... I mean, it's sort of a loaded question."

this...i think the length and part looks great, and i'll forever say her hair at it's peak is wavy (like her recent IG video- compared to the straight locks) but her extensions from the past 2 months are horrid

miss thing made over 40mil from her tour if y'all spent a second looking at the back of her head in MAC and really paid attention you'd shriek

give me abstract and cool sunglasses queen less pink jelly shoes and leggings

def not new merch but it's something to note her having both a 'venice bitch' and a 'fresh out of fucks' shirt that directly correspond to her lyrics

like did she write the song and personally think "ugh my fucking mind im a genius Chicken go find me a shirt with these lyrics" or did she buy the shirt n think "wait a min maybe i could do sumn with this"

her mind is a maze, labyrinth, and dusty 1-way highway all in one

I know I have rly bad taste and I apologize    but it sounds spooky and I don't like it. It's almost discordant to my ears. It's a shame because lyrically I'm all for it. I put it in the same category than Let My Hair Down and Strange Love  The three Lana horsemen of the apocalpyse

I’m typically able to find ways to defend azealia because when she’s not being petty and psychotic she can actually be rather intelligent and insightful. but UGH this is just fucking indefensible. a new level of gross
