Lana album with the best lyrics?

This is a hard one for me. I'll have to go with Ultraviolence because of it's ability to conjure mood, paint pictures of moments, and the biting sarcasm throughout the record. The repetition in the choruses works in this album because of the hazy, 4am swing of the production. Lust for Life had very high highs in terms of lyrics, but also some of her very worst...UV is more consistent. 

 

I think NFR may surpass it, though.

HM to Born to Die, though. I know a lot of people focused on the Lolita theme, but it's a pretty incredible blend of Americana imagery, satire, and a personal narrative.

Honeymoon for me, especially when you think of them collectively with the production. One thing leads to the other. I am extremely metaphoric myself, so Honeymoon is slightly better than Ultraviolence's pure rawness.

 

Norman will most likely top it though. I'm just very attracted to the 'whatever' attitude of the lyrics.

Although Honeymoon and Ultraviolence are my favorite albums of hers (atm, NFR is coming), I chose to vote for Born To Die. The album just has this some of the best storytelling through lyrics and it really takes me to another world, full of americana glamour and bad boys, but the lyrics also paints the picture of such an unfulfilling lifestyle, which has became apparent to me as the years go on.

It's almost a tie for me. Honeymoon has the best bridges by far, but Ultraviolence has awesome verses. I chose Ultrav because of songs like Brooklyn Baby, Black Beauty, Old Money, Ultraviolence and Flipside, they're lyrical masterpieces

I think Born To Die creates very vivid imagery with lyrics and the instrumentation so it has to be mentioned, but AKA seems more genuine to me I guess. There are always strong lyrics in all her albums, though not every song. This is so difficult

Each album has something special about each lyric, but to me Ultraviolence is the most powerful. Even if I don't directly relate to something, the lyrics make me feel the emotion and it seems like I'm practically in the relationship

I feel like Born to Die has the most character (Diet Mountain Dew, National Anthem, etc.), Ultraviolence is the most poetic (Shades of Cool, Black Beauty, etc.), Honeymoon uses a lot of imagery (God Knows I Tried, 24, etc.), Lust for Life is a bit loose and fun (Lust for Life, Summer Bummer, etc.), while NFR is going to be more confessional.

weeell, maybe it’s because I’ve never been in love (heartless bitch that I am) and AKA has the least songs directly about love or heartbreak compared to the rest of her albums, but I love how fun and out-there the lyricism of that album is. Plus, it injects so much magic and mystery in normal places you pass everyday, like motels and gas stations

AKA, there are no skips for me and the lyrics are so different from what anyone else could ever do. Pawn Shop Blues and Yayo are two of her most beautiful songs.

Y'all are ugly and fat for doing Paradise dirty and not acknowledging what a masterpiece it actually is.

Lyrics-wise, I would say it's Paradise > Born To Die and Ultraviolence > LDR and Honeymoon > Lust For Life

 

We'll see where NFR fits in this.
