I was reading what Jack says about her "being the opposite of what he thought she was going to be" and it reminded me of what Weyes Blood said about her months ago. She said:  “Lana Del Rey is the least like what people would imagine her to be”. “Any time I hear people talking shit about her, like going off about something she did, it’s so shocking ‘cos she is actually so genuine and non-calculated. And I think a lot of people don’t realise that. They think she’s incredibly calculating, like ‘I’ve figured out the perfect potion!’, but she’s a total chaos artist. She’s so loose, she’s so open, she’s so free – and she is so nice.” “Everything she does comes from a place of sincerity. And I think ‘cos she’s a woman, she gets a lot of flack and people like to pin their hates on that. She definitely gets an extra dose of misogyny and people assuming the worst of her.”

 

I think she really knows what she does and we should trust her more... Like we know she may express herself bad sometimes but if you pay attention you really get what she's always talking about and how smart she is.

I think LMLYLAW will be released sometime next week and she’ll drop the COTCC video on September 17th and have the album released on September 18th.

Also, Lana stanning social progressiveness and being pro-mask! We love to see it.

I know people like to act like some 'true colors' came out with the question for the culture thing, but Lana is genuinely left leaning on social issues like most regular Americans, even if she's not in extremes really like many wish she was. She likely has problematic beliefs mixed in with progressive ones, again like most regular people (who aren't Trump cultists or whatever)
She essentially supports BLM, the Me Too movement, Mental Health issues being more recognized, and generally wants us to acknowledge that the issues COVID brought to many people's personal lives weren't purely from the virus's havoc, but instead that they were always building up and we should move past them rather than forget them. I think that's a great message and certainly one that's true on levels she probably isn't thinking of at all (like massive economic insecurity & debt, grief, etc, all of which has been exacerbated by this pandemic) 

It is quite interesting to me how she does seem to be like - as she has put it in the past - 'tapped in' to the social current despite her day to day life being so disconnected from the regular person's (both from people who are wealthy and from those who are not... which as I'm writing this kind of also gives more context to the 'you thought I was rich and I am but not how you think' lines in Happy a bit more). She's also like, actually more optimistic about the future than I am, which kind of had me shook.

At this point, I just want LMLYLAW this month dear God. I can stand COCC delayed - I just personally hope it comes out October, though I wouldn't be surprised if its Nov-Dec or even early 2021 depending on just how not done it seems... 
(I expect november-january to be pure political HELL in America, mass rioting and violence etc to a new level than we are currently seeing when white nationalists take to the street to defend Trump if he loses, and the left to protest Trump if he wins or cheats and steals the election) 

Basically, I might not be in the mental headspace to receive this album openly w.o the backdrop being so chaotic and emotionally taxing if it comes out after November, lol.

Dont get me wrong, the info is exciting and the pics are great, and I'm more hyped now in general, but the fact that we got all this from a magazine and not her (which is typical too, imagine being a casual lana fan  ) doesn't really point me towards "more news is coming!" necessarily.

Why does everyone hate ballads so much though? Hope is literally one of my favorite songs by Lana ever and How to Disappear live (the piano version) was literally so excellent. I get people miss the grand production but I honestly don’t mind a couple of stripped-back ballads as long as they get me in my feels.
