i cant believe all these announcements contain no concrete date

and the one date we had wasnt real

Honestly, I'd rather that than have a repeat of the last 2 eras, when all publications and even interviews she had done stated the album was coming on a date (that was just a rumour... March 29th says hello). At least this way we don't have our hopes set on an exact date. I was always skeptical of the 5th, purely because it was a Saturday.

Agreed. It’s so frustrating to not know when to expect:whatever2::pft:

its not that, its just that this magazine again says its coming this month but were already a week in and theres 0 time to get a proper release on track? its obviously no longer a surprise release so how is lana supposed to

- announce the release date
- put out a single
- put up a pre-order
- maybe even release a video before the album drops

all within the next 3 weeks?

sheesh, just stick with "soon" for gods sake

the guy who shot her video had Selena’s done in 12 days, so technically assuming they finished filming last Sunday, the video could be done this Friday.

it’s not going to come out this Friday, but theoretically it could

I say single this week/next week, album the week after

She announced NFR on July 31 , the trailer on August 1 , FIILY/TG mv out on August 20 and album out August 30

It’s not that big a deal that we have nothing yet ; a September release is still likely to happen.
Not saying it will happen, just saying it’s obviously not impossible.

So the interview was definitely supposed to come out AFTER september 5th... this makes me believe the 'album coming this month' bit is real and not about the 5th of september date!!!

Jack should of asked her questions like ‘what does Chemtrails actually mean’. Do you feel this is your last record for awhile or is your muse still growing’. was it difficult choosing between a 12 or 16 track album’. Where did you get the ideas for the imagery or the album and what’s the meaning behind the album cover’.

you know useful questions! Instead of talking about nothingness

Full agree. Direct, specific questions, with nothing off the table, like Rolling Stone used to do back in its classic 70s era, and which have subsequently been bound into book form. Playboy magazine was also famous in the same era for hard-hitting questions and answers, like when Linda Ronstadt shocked the world by saying, 'I don't like to be approached by fans. It's rude. If they want to hear my voice, let them buy one of my records."

Unfortunately, Interview magazine has almost always used a format composed of a softball love fest between two 'celebrities' basically flattering one another and billing and cooing. So I don't expect much more than that here.

What I am surprised about is that Interview even exists anymore as a paper publication. I live in NYC and haven't seen a copy anywhere for many years.

Hmmm I think only once and that was Honeymoon, she said it was jazzy with some muddy trap undertones and honestly, she nailed it...

She thought Lust For Life was like 70's girl group vibes, NFR! had elements of surf and Red Hot Chilli Peppers vibes (apparently)... So maybe there's like one country song on this record.

Respectfully, what is "jazzy" about Honeymoon? There's nothing legitimately "jazzy" about it, or "jazz-like." I remember she said she was inspired by a lot of late night drives around LA listening to Miles Davis, which is no doubt true, and that may have inspired her, but there's no jazz of any kind on HM.

the way some of you act about release dates...is this your first Lana album? there’s at least 3 release dates before a final one is actually announced, alongside a plethora of snippets and alleged titles

if the album is folk/country, i'll probably listen to half of each song once and that's it ,like a i did with folklore by taylor , it's literally the only genre that i can't stand

For me, there was nothing at all 'folk' or 'folkish' about Taylor's Folk, just as there was nothing 'folky' about NFR except perhaps that LDR was inspired by Joni Mitchell's early 1970s albums like, obviously, Ladies of the Canyon and perhaps Blue. But there was no genuine folk on the album, or even ersatz folk.

'Folk,' like 'jazz,' is a huge umbrella genre with a lot of sub-genres (Celtic folk, traditional American folk, British folk and Border Ballads, American 'pop' folk of the late 1950s and early 1960s like the New Christy Minstrels and the Brothers Four, the 'singer/songwriter folk of the late 1960s and early 1970s, such as Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Scott McKenzie, 'Country Folk,' like early John Denver, and so on).

Hopefully, COCC won't be another attempt at 'folk' of any kind. Did she say it was in the Interview interview?

They  delude themselves that she has changed her ways. But Lana is more confused and chaotic then ever :godlaugh:

Yes, but that's completely unprofessional, unless childishly and foolishly intended as some sort of suspense-creating motivator. There should be no problem with everyone involved publicly keeping their mouths shut until a final date is absolutely secured. Then announce it.

I’d personally not take much notice of her saying folk and country. She said Honeymoon was like BTD and that NFR had a  Red Hot Chili Peppers influence ??‍♂️ She’s never been great at describing her sound.
