I'm quite sure that's LYTAN. But every time I asked I got ignored so I don't know, and I also didn't see a thread for it. The snippet is findable as you'd expect.

might have been because it had teh potential to be released and we arent allowed to link to anything about to be released or has the potential to be released

Eclipse made that assumption on ATRL. He said BTD - UV - HM form a trilogy; LFL was made for the fans so it doesn’t count in a trilogy; NFR-COCC -BB form another (the singer-songwriter trilogy). Before WCE was out, he said she had made new songs that could open up to a “new trilogy”… I read into that that it was something different from the last albums, whether or not if there really is something planned that much ahead (but I don’t think so). The real question is: How much did he hear actually? Honeymounz, on IG, said there were three other songs submitted for Euphoria but only WCE got picked up. So, I think he heard those songs and maybe DNC if it was finished back then?

This is interesting to note. I didn't realize he's been talking about it anywhere, honestly.

dont worry, if that happens, its more than likely it will be released in the next album :lolliney:

tbh i feel like RCS is not LYTAN. idk but a part of me feels like theyre separate songs

I have the same feeling (and I think LYTAN is around and someone confirmed it's a separate song). What we don't know it's if RCS (the former BB title track) is LYTAN, a WCE demo or a totally different song :thumb2: If I have to guess it's just LYTAN retitled

I might be wrong but i'm like 90% certain BOZ confirmed LYTAN and RCS were the same song, unless they shared the "rock candy sweet" lyric. I could be remembering wrong, but i'm pretty sure he mentioned that, but then again, we know how much she likes to reuse lyrics :lolliney:

I thought someone concluded that the LYTAN snippet was AI-generated? I have no idea:bebe:

Doing Nothing Cool

Dancing Near Coasts

Delta Night Calls

any insiders wanna tell us, if you know what DNC is? please? it's really bugging me at this point

From what I understood LYTAN = RCS which is a separate song from WCE, which also uses the phrases “rock candy, sweet” and “sweet like rock candy”

Can’t remember if it was BoZ or Eclipse, but I think it was BoZ, on ATRL, who said that Rock Candy Sweet was just a single line on LYTAN (like you said, shadesofyosemite). RCS is the new “candle in the wind”, apparently, but I wonder if the line is featured in another song apart from LYTAN and WCE, possibly a scrapped track on BB? I mean, she was going to name the album after that line, so to hear it only once on the album (and not be a title track) would have been a first for sure for her.

Tbh  I don't want WCE on LDR9  I'd rather have new songs. We also don't know when the album is coming & if it comes out next year it would be weird to have a song on it that got released 1+ year ago but you never know with her because she wanted to put I Can Fly on Blue Banisters :hide:  But you all made me relisten to WCE & it's good. If it ends up on LDR9 I wouldn't be too mad though , just wish WCE had a bridge or more of a vocally contrast between pre chorus & chorus but it's still a good cute song & I love the artsy lyrics

I wouldn't mind to see the RCS line on LDR9 & this actually made me wonder again how this album will play out since there is no mention of colours. Wondering if we get other kind of descriptions like " you are sweet like rock candy,  the rain was fire but we were wooden or sth like the deep icy sea  and so on ":true:

:kiss3: I’ll probably make a thread soon about my profile pic (it’s from an app; i uploaded Lana selfies and it turns her into a “Disney princess”). I thought it was time to switch things up a bit.

Honestly I never listened to WCE again after the Euphoria hype. It's an amazing beautiful song like Beautiful or YNWA, but not a song I want to hear over and over again especially on an album, only in a certain mood. This is also true for other songs on Blue Banisters, which prevents me from listening to the album all the way through now. I hope LDR9 becomes an album more like BTD, Paradise or UV, which even years later have not aged so much.

LDRVillage's director made it and he said it may appear as merch but there's no confirmation that it means anything album related. Maybe it's just a - she wore it so it's merch now - thing but I don't see Lana teasing random acronyms for nothing knowing she wore it for an award show and also had a little polaroid photoshoot with the same jacket (which is the same one of the FIILY/TG MV with another logo)

Maybe it's a general prototype for future merchandise, and the 'DNC' was just a placeholder, and the designers could have used any three letters or a symbol.

LFL may have been made for fans (in lana's own words), but, if so, why are 'Heroin,' 'Change,' and 'WTWWAWWKOD' on it? I don't consider '13 Beaches' fan-friendly either, especially non-Stan general public fans.

What set of fans was 'Summer Bummer' made for?

Except for the title track, 'Love,' 'BPBP,' and 'TNC,' as a record, it really isn't 'fan friendly.'

I think it's more likely that there was an original concept, and then the album and the concept got reworked and changed multiple times, and some 'fan friendly' songs were thrown on (as in, 'Gee, Lana, can you put something on the new record that we can use as a single and that's a little 'fan friendly'?), 'Yosemite' was removed, and it ended up being the compromise that it is. However, I still like it a good deal.

This is most likely just him talking out of his ass, has Lana ever mentioned that she intended to create a trilogy?

Yeah, I tend to disbelieve it too, or, if she did mention it, it might be an idea that came to her well after the fact. There's not very much that BTD/P and UV have in common.

Yeah I agree, and I can see Honeymoon being a continuation of UV based on the title track's lyrics about violence but that's pretty much it tbh

@Vertimus Did he mention Paradise? I consider that its own record these days. It has a whole concept outside of Born to Die so that counts too. It's near enough four albums from BTD-Honeymoon realistically

Not sure about the trilogy thing either (I see more of a loose pattern each two albums), but there is a continuity, theme-wise, on BTD-PD-UV-HM: moving from Ny to establish yourself on the West Coast as a singer. In her relationships, she is not often portrayed as the one in charge and her string of dangerous men often seem to have “the upper hand” in the relationship. But since Norman, yes her men are still terrible, but there’s a feeling that she is there by choice and won’t crumble to the ground if the dude leaves her.

LFL being for the fans is not totally stupid though that it is not the total picture either. Love is a tribute to her younger fans, but there’s more on LFL to please fans: Emile worked on Love, Tim Larcombe was brought back for Cherry, many fans wanted a collab with the Weeknd and ASAP, Justin Parker is a producer and writer on BPBP, there are sadcore songs on this album as well (13B, Heroin). The “political” songs are her choice, Change also, but it’s true that the initial Concept changed (spacey - witchy-new Agey- folkyish quest to happiness… As for Yosemite, it could also be seen as a love letter to her fans and her lover (we all did it for the right reasons, whether it’s her career or her love life)… but LFL didn’t find the happy ending she wished she’d find by the time she finished it (the world was still a mess, she did have another breakup, and well, her fans were her fans, leaking demos lol).
