Formation 4,107 Posted December 19, 2018 Froot's video is one of her best music videos But yeah, Forget, IAR are terrible Froot's video has stunning visuals, but it didn't fit the song for me. The old Hollywood glamour and random older man was straight out of Lana's catalog; she should have been outside in the lush garden of that mansion among some Greek statues or something (they could've switched it to night time when the flowers and stuff would came alive in neon --to fit the aesthetic she originally had for the tour.) IAR was cute but there's was too much of her on the rocks. Forget was as boring as the rest. Escapism 5,392 Posted December 19, 2018 I'll give credit to the Electra Heart era where it's due the concept and aesthetic was iconic and innovative, making a character created by female archetypes and insprations (marilyn, britney, 60's movies, etc.) to dwelve into understanding identity was a great idea, but it was poorly excuted. The good excutions come from the album shoot with Casper Balslev, her tumblr, and the early videos of the era but once the P&C video came about the whole archetypes thing was nonexistant lmao. also who the fuck thought it was a good idea to put hypocrates (HTBAH and Radioactive too if you count the US Version) between VOTD and F&L... 4 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

If INHA was on the album it definitely would be included. yeah but its not consistent... like the quality of the lyrics is not consistent throughout the album. by that logic all it takes for an album to be the best lyrically is to have just 4-5 songs out of 13 with good lyrics, which is obviously not the case froot stans are so desperately grasping at straws... like you can like a thing without thinking it's the best thing in the world?????? froot does have flaws and its ok. she's valid!!! btw not directly @ you just a consideration. those songs actually are highlights and they are v good (my favs actually) and yeah INHA should've defo been included 4 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It has some of her top-notch tracks like Froot, Happy and Savages and at the same time the most forgettable songs like weeds, gold, better than that etc. Personally, I get the least emotions from Froot. Froot presents itself as a deep body of profound work when it's nothing more than a shallow husk of pretentious whining about hating humans and wanting to drink liquor all day while waiting for your ex boyfriend to come back and fuck you with an uninspired production and lyrics that sound like a vapid middleschooler wanted to write something ~deep~ while also not having much of any highlights vocally from Marina that we've seen in the previous 2 albums! If EH was made for the locals then Froot was made for the boring vapid pretentious gay that wants to stand out from the crowd and seem deep.
