So apparently my amazon vinyl is "Arriving 1 Apr - 20 Apr" :') how foolish of me thinking I'd be having my first full listening of the album on vinyl- kinda thought that i'd get it on release day since it is a pre-order

The Chemtrails one was 100% the same vinyl as the other yellow indie ones. I got both and gave them a detailed check. Same vinyl, same sleeve, same Barcodes. You can't tell a difference except for that strip of paper. And because they remove the original foil to add the strip of paper, the risk for seam splits during transport is increased. Actually any record store (and private people) could make these kind of exclusives. Maybe I should buy 5 copies, create an own paper strip x/5 and see how much it brings, lol. (I won't, just kidding.)

Very true- I never bought the chemtrails one but I think much of the same.

I by chance happened to be online when the assai one dropped for ocean blvd, so I bought it.. and funnily enough it worked out cheaper than the indie preorder, so it actually saved money to cancel preorder for it. But buying it after at high price, I don’t think would be worth it.. though it’s a nice to have for a collector I suppose

I contacted the record store I got the indie exclusive from and they let me know it’ll ship either the Wednesday or Thursday before release date. It’s a local one in my city so it would be divine to get the record even just a day early.

Lmao so basically, Assai Records just deadass get some 500 copies of the indie pressings, tear up the original foil, add a strip of paper with badly translated Japanese text/description, repackage them with new foils, and then try to pass them off as some sort of "limited-quantity Japanese pressings with superior sound quality," when in reality, these are the exact same pressings they'll get from any other indie record stores.

 

Assai customers must really feel special, huh?

Does anyone know if there are any discount codes for the Canada store? I’m considering getting the lighter from there since the UK store isn’t shipping until late May & I’d love to have it a month earlier.

I think the French store still had transparent ones not long ago, but since the new album went online for pre-order, I am unable to access the other pages, also didn't find them by Google.
