The Right Person Will Stay - Pre-Release Thread (OUT: May 21st, 2025)

what if the right person who stayed was actualy lana herself? has anyone truly been round enough to have "stayed" so far? i mean last album cycle, she was dating her producer mike hermosa and then in between that we know she probably date jack and evan, and then she got married to jeremy... so what if the title isn't a reference to jeremy and she is actually calling herself "the right person who stayed," she has learned to love herself which is reflected in her past few albums that have shown lana at her happiest, rather than in btd, ultraviolence, and honeymoon eras, so the song is not about finding the right person/lover to stay, but rather the right person will stay and that person is yourself and you need to stay true to yourself? just a thought

I'm not usually negative on here but 248 pages on this thread for basically nothing...  it's tiring at this point, all we're doing rn is wishful thinking. I mean lana come on

this wouldve been beautiful. And I'm sure if thats the case shes this album gonna be having some heaven sent lyrics

IF the single was going to be released next week would she have announced it by now? Or it could be a surprise release. I know she doesn’t necessarily follow a pattern for singles.

Given that we're in the most excruciatingly annoying era yet (and I use the term "era" loosely), you can bet on the single announcement 1-2 months before the single.

That could be, but I think it's just a general expression of a general idea. She's had a lot of lovers, boyfriends, and crushes, the details about which we know very little--very little. Who broke up with who, or who called it off or why, we don't know. 

 

To me, 'staying' isn't necessarily a good thing in and of itself--it reminds me somewhat of people who marry at 18 to 21 and both parties say, 'I will never look at, touch, or lust after another man/woman/person for the next 60 years!," which, to my mind, just sets an impossible standard that ends up crushing the relationship if they hold themselves and one another to it. 

 

To me, "treat me well, and I'll treat you well, and if we remain in love and attracted to one another, we'll stay together, but if things turn sour or you lose interest, let me know,' is a more realistic option.

Keep in mind the hideous rollout of NFR! and Lana saying, several times publicly after the release of MAC and VB, "I don't know when it's coming out." That went on for over a year.
