Misheard Lana Lyrics

Recommended Posts

Lana Del Rey "COLA"

My p*****y tastes like Pepsi Cola
My eyes are wide like cherry pies
I got sweet taste for men who are older
It's always been , so it's no surprise
Honey´s in the sky with diamonds
And it's making me crazy

Isn´t it supposed to be like a Beatles song , "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" ??
I always thought she was singing "Honey´s in the sky"

Then I read the lyrics and it says, " Harvey's in the sky with diamonds"   :P
Who is this "Harvey" guy ?
Then I read Wikipedia about the song and Lana´s thoughts while writing it and she was refering to
that idiot Harvey Weinstein

but WHY include him into such a lovely song?  And specially with the words ... in the sky with diamonds"  ??
Its just freaked me out.   I will never listen to this song the same way again.

I just might do a re-re-mix with my FL-Studio and remove his name from the song and
add someone else´s name into it   ;)

Fuck yeah, give it to me

This is Kevin, what I truly want

-Gods and Monsters (I don't really know how I heard that one)

Gin taught me that

-Ultraviolence

Baby stoppin at 7-eleven

There in his white Pontiac, Kevin

-Diet Mountain Dew (apparently I have some sorta strange affinity for Kevin)

Put your white towel sheets on and follow me

-Swan Song

There is violence in your eyes

-Honeymoon

And to finish off, something close to what somebody else stated previously

Pornless confusion

-Hope Is A Dangerous Thing

Hope you enjoyed reading my (very) unfortunate mishearings of Lana's gorgeous lyrics

in "dangerous girl" i truly thought she was saying "baby i'm a forlorn on fire" and i honestly i still wish it was that.

In OTTR I thought she said "you never looked so beautiful as you do in that moment" and was disappointed when I realized it was "as you do now, my man" bc I like the misheard one better

Also I still can only hear "makes me a sad sad girl" so that's what I sing instead of "makes me so sad, girl"

It's not funny but I'm not a native English speaker and always thought in Venice Bitch she said "beautiful beautiful", not beautiful losers.

I’m a native speaker and that’s what I hear

Probably my favorite is from Ultraviolence (which I listened to from beginning to end several times a week for several years).

Money, Power, Glory where she says "Alleluia, I wanna take you for all that you got." I thought she was saying "Oh LA....something something" ("through the yard"? And I would laugh about it, because I knew she wasn't actually saying "through the yard" I just was sure she was saying "Oh LA").

Then she made the NFR album which is like Los Angeles in musical form, and I learned to stop hanging on to those crumbs.

The Blackest Day:

I heard "a half-life in lost dreams" instead of "I have heavy heartstrings" for very long time and I'm kinda disappointed now

Blue Jeans:

"Sally come on Monday" instead of "Said he'd come home Monday"

"Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

This is funny because my best friend for years thought it was "holler through the yard" and I heard her sing that along to the song and I was like ??? what are you saying lol. She had no idea the lyric was "hallelujah" until I told her. I thought it was hilarious that that's what she thought it was for so long x

Swan Song

What I Thought: “Dive in, dive deep and I blew/blue my suede.”

What It Actually Is: “ Dive in, dive deep and dive blue, my sweet.”

TELL ME WHY I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE LYRIC SINCE HONEYMOON WAS RELEASED? i only legit found out now after looking up the lyrics for an insta caption. what was i thinking? it doesn’t even make sense.

I always thought she was saying “my cigarettes *are* diamond rings” in the last girl on earth. I thought it was supposed to be an innuendo like how people get addicted to cigarettes and have to buy lots of them, and it can be expensive and definitely a waste of money and a bad habit, but for her she’s buying diamond rings at the rate people buy cigarettes. Her spending is just that frivolous. I thot it was really clever and effective given the context and the rest of the song . I guess not lmfao
