maxthehitman 1,729 Posted March 6, 2020 Lana Del Rey "COLA" My p*****y tastes like Pepsi ColaMy eyes are wide like cherry piesI got sweet taste for men who are olderIt's always been , so it's no surprise Honey´s in the sky with diamondsAnd it's making me crazy Isn´t it supposed to be like a Beatles song , "Lucy in the sky with diamonds" ?? I always thought she was singing "Honey´s in the sky" Then I read the lyrics and it says, " Harvey's in the sky with diamonds" Who is this "Harvey" guy ? Then I read Wikipedia about the song and Lana´s thoughts while writing it and she was refering to that idiot Harvey Weinstein but WHY include him into such a lovely song? And specially with the words " ... in the sky with diamonds" ?? Its just freaked me out. I will never listen to this song the same way again. I just might do a re-re-mix with my FL-Studio and remove his name from the song and add someone else´s name into it 0 Quote -

Violets in Your Eyes 313 Posted March 10, 2020 In OTTR I thought she said "you never looked so beautiful as you do in that moment" and was disappointed when I realized it was "as you do now, my man" bc I like the misheard one better Also I still can only hear "makes me a sad sad girl" so that's what I sing instead of "makes me so sad, girl"

BeckoningCat 7 Posted March 19, 2020 Probably my favorite is from Ultraviolence (which I listened to from beginning to end several times a week for several years). Money, Power, Glory where she says "Alleluia, I wanna take you for all that you got." I thought she was saying "Oh LA....something something" ("through the yard"? And I would laugh about it, because I knew she wasn't actually saying "through the yard" I just was sure she was saying "Oh LA"). Then she made the NFR album which is like Los Angeles in musical form, and I learned to stop hanging on to those crumbs.
Pico Ocean Boulevard 41,211 Posted March 19, 2020 The Blackest Day: I heard "a half-life in lost dreams" instead of "I have heavy heartstrings" for very long time and I'm kinda disappointed now Blue Jeans: "Sally come on Monday" instead of "Said he'd come home Monday" 0 Quote "Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

Then she made the NFR album which is like Los Angeles in musical form, and I learned to stop hanging on to those crumbs. This is funny because my best friend for years thought it was "holler through the yard" and I heard her sing that along to the song and I was like ??? what are you saying lol. She had no idea the lyric was "hallelujah" until I told her. I thought it was hilarious that that's what she thought it was for so long x 0 Quote • 4.18.14 • 5.1.14 • 9.20.14 • 5.28.15 • 6.14.15 • 7.28.16 • 7.24.17 • 10.23.17 • 10.24.17 • 1.25.18 • 2.5.18 • 12.5.18 • 10.3.19 • 10.11.19 • 11.16.19 • SF • ATL • ATL • IND • ATL • CHI • LDN • NYC • NYC • DC • ATL • NYC • PDX • SAN • KS

Sugar Venom 9,658 Posted May 5, 2020 I always thought she was saying “my cigarettes *are* diamond rings” in the last girl on earth. I thought it was supposed to be an innuendo like how people get addicted to cigarettes and have to buy lots of them, and it can be expensive and definitely a waste of money and a bad habit, but for her she’s buying diamond rings at the rate people buy cigarettes. Her spending is just that frivolous. I thot it was really clever and effective given the context and the rest of the song . I guess not lmfao
