Unpopular Lorde opinion but does anyone else hate the production on Melodrama? It's way too overproduced imo and didn't age very well. I hope she does something a little more subtle for this album.

The album was called Melodrama. If it wasn't overproduced, the whole concept would be spoilt

In an age where artists release albums every 12-15 months, ~48 months is a long enough hiatus that breaking it could be called a "comeback".

FATM: 4 years, 3 years and hasn't released anything in 3 years so probably even more until her new album

Melanie: 4 years

Lorde herself: 4 years between PH and Melodrama

Beyonce: 3 years

Rihanna: 4 years and hasn't released anything in 5

Carly Rae Jepsen: 4 years

artists DON'T release albums every 15 months just because Taylor released 2 albums back to back and Lana is doing that too it does not mean it's the norm LMAOO?

why are you taking it so personally lmaooo???? waiting is normal of course, we used to wait a little more back then, but today streaming made albums and music in general become more and more quick. artists DO release faster, denying it is just dumb.

come to my house let's die together, friendships that would last forever

I too can make lists.

Taylor Swift: 6 months

Lady Gaga: 19 months between ASIB and Chromatica

Lana Del Rey: 19 months

Ariana Grande: 6 months Sweetner —> Thank U Next

not sure what your issue is with me saying 4 years is a long time...? Maybe you work in music management and are pressed bc it effects you personally idk lol.

You’re right about the frequency of albums. Most artists deliver an album every two years. Three is considered long. Four and more is being in a writer’s block lol (or lazy.... )

usually, when an artist pulls out albums under two years, it’s because they don’t write their own music and are very popular so that popular composers can be on board to pen the songs.
